Tradewinds Condominium is located in the heart of Orange Beach, Alabama (about 5.5 miles east of Gulf, Shores, Alabama). It sits directly on one of the country's highest rated beaches. It has one of the area's best indoor/outdoor swimming pools and easy access to the beach (with a boardwalk with showers). This condo is also located at a red light which makes getting out into traffic during crowded times much easier. Tradewinds is located directly across the street from Adventure Island (go carts, mini golf, laser tag) and Fat Daddy's Arcade. It is only minutes away from great restaurants, grocery stores, and all the attractions including The Wharf, The Track (go carts), and Waterville USA (waterpark and amusement park). The outlet mall at Foley, Alabama is about 20 miles away.

This second floor unit is elevated enough to provide you with a great ocean view but is only one flight of stairs from the ground level (if you decide not to take the elevator). There are two elevators in this building (located just outside the door of this unit).

This unit has two full bath rooms and ceramic tile throughout. It has a king size bed in the bedroom, a queen size sleep sofa in the living room, and bunk beds in the hallway (sleeps 6). This unit has a 40" Sony LCD flat screen TV in the living room and a 32" flat screen TV in the bedroom. Both TVs have cable and DVD players. This unit has a washer and dryer and all linens, towels and cloths are provided. Wireless internet is also provided. This property also has an outdoor charcoal grilling area.

This condo has it all. It will feel like your home away from home. You will love the view from the balcony.

We chose this condo because of its breathtaking views, great location, large swimming pool (indoor/outdoor), and easy beach access. It is also located close to all the attractions, restaurants, and stores. This condo is also located at a red light which makes getting out into traffic during crowded times much easier. We also like this condo having two full baths and the capacity to sleep 6 people.

The property is very nice and cozy! We enjoyed how close we were to the beach. The view was very nice and peaceful. The king size bed was extremely comfortable. We loved how close the property is to various attractions. The four of us had plenty of space for our belongings. It was a great fit! We had a blast!

Loved our time at this condo!!

I searched high and low for beach front properties and I truly believe this unit is a great value! The view is beautiful. I was concerned that being on the 1st (technically 2nd) floor would make the ocean less visible, and that all I'd see out the window was the pool. Definitely not so! The view was incredible and you can see the ocean the moment you walk in the door. I found the furnishings to be more than adequate. I actually loved the simplicity of the place, especially having young kids. No clutter and nick-nacks to deal with. The bed was very comfortable and there was ample storage in the bedroom for putting clothes away. Storage is lacking in the main area and the kitchen for food, but otherwise we found the main living space to be comfortable and well equipped.

We found the pool to be a huge highlight of our stay. It was heated so warm which was awesome! And the pool deck was easy on the feet :) The ocean is a short walk away. We loved the size of the property - so quick and easy to get from our unit to our car or pool/beach. And when we did take the elevators, they came quick!

Brad always answered my (many) questions very quickly and he was great to work with. I would absolutely recommend this property!

Unit with great possibilities and lots of missed opportunities.

This is our first stay at Tradewinds though we've been up and down OB and GS for the past 15 years. For reference, we've rented through VRBO for 22 years and only been disappointed twice. This was one of those times.

We like Tradewinds, it's smallish has a great pool, a portion of which is inside--nice option. The property also sits well back on the beach which we love.

Our unit was a letdown. We enjoyed the view & it has a nice floor plan. The appliances were all in good working order, though low end. Nice cold A/C. Granite counter tops.

The first thing I noticed was the gritty floor & "not too clean," condition.

There had been complaints on the site regarding the bed & the sofa. According to the owners response, both were replaced in July. They were not. The bed sat very low to the floor and was so noisy, it was disruptive to even turn over. The sofa was broken & near impossible to sit on. It was extremely uncomfortable. There was not a lamp any where in the condo, although pictured along with homey decor touches which were also absent.

I immediately emailed the owner asking where the promised sofa & bed were. To his credit-- he always replies quickly. He told me his cleaning crew had said they were fine & he decided not to replace them. I was kind, but let him know I felt they were in error. He apologized & said he would have them replaced while we were there. I was surprised & considered that thoughtful.

Wed morning, the sofa & mattress arrived. The sofa was the same style, but not broken which was AWESOME. It was comfy & cozy and a great improvement. The bed however was not. There was hardly a discernible difference. If the owner paid more than 300$ for the mattress, he's due a refund.

This unit has such great possibility. Either the owner is unwilling, or unable to keep it in a nice state. The patio furniture consists of a few plastic chairs that are so reclined one cannot even have a cup of coffee on the balcony. The blinds are in disrepair, none of the wall clocks worked, They needed batteries. Not a decent knife or cutting board, no scissors, not a pot large enough in which to boil a pkg of spaghetti. The TV remote was missing batteries, & there wasn't one drop of anything warm & welcoming.

We spent a lot of time on the beach I & enjoyed ourselves. I won't judge, Brad was kind. Perhaps they are having some difficulties that prevent their attention on the unit. Hopefully, he can turn it around. We would not return here.

Owner's Response: I am very disappointed that our condo did not meet your expectations and apologize for that. We have been renting this condo for 8 years on VRBO with hundreds of satisfied guests and very, very few complaints as you can see from our reviews. We have taken your feedback and tried to make improvements for the future. We have used the same cleaning service for 8 years again with hundreds of satisfied guests and very, very few complaints. I have discussed this complaint with them and they have assured me that they will make sure the unit is cleaned properly in the future. To be safe we have scheduled a deep clean for early November. As for the sofa and mattress, I made a mistake not replacing them earlier and have learned from this mistake. I recognized your unhappiness with the sofa and mattress upon your arrival and had them replaced ASAP to try to make your stay enjoyable. Just for the record, I did pay much more than $300 for the mattress. It was purchased from one of the most highly respected furniture stores in the area that furnishes many condos. This was their most popular mattress for condos, it is medium softness to try to please most guests. I called them back this week and they assured me that they have been selling this mattress for many years with this being their first complaint. This week we bought new vertical blinds, new lamps for living room & bedroom, a new wall clock, new cutting boards, a new T-Fal pot & pan set, a new kitchen knife set that includes scissors, and new batteries for all the remotes. I appreciate the positive comments about Tradewinds, the pool, the beach location, our view, our floorplan, our good working appliances, our cold AC, and our granite countertops. We are very proud of our condo. We spend thousands of dollars on it each year to try to keep it nice and updated. Last year we installed new cabinet doors & granite countertops & faucets in the kitchen and both bathrooms, new refrigerator, new bedroom furniture, new dining room furniture, and new living room chairs. This year we have had the unit painted, replaced the sofa, mattress, dishes, and have new ceramic tile being installed in the kitchen and both bathrooms in November. Thank you very much for your business and your feed back. Again, I am sorry your stay did not meet your expectations. I hope you have a more positive experience in the future. Thanks, Brad

Great Location and owners

Loved the location of this condo and the view from the balcony was awesome! Even though we didn't do any cooking, the kitchen was well equipped. Being able to take the stairs was a great time saver as well. The only thing keeping this review from 5 stars was the couch. It really needs to be replaced. The arms are really grimy and the sleeper part extremely uncomfortable. The rest of the condo was clean when we arrived. The owners were quick to respond and let us know when our daughter left her earrings there. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Perfect girls trip
