Nicely Maintained and Equipped Log Frame House
The owners do an excellent job of keeping this property in good condition and unusually well equipped--all you need is food. The upper deck is very large, accommodating large groups. The bedrooms and living areas are spacious and comfortable. There are neighbors, but still plenty of privacy. I give this a five star rating when, in general, I give vacation properties that are worthy of recommendation around three.
The property was absolutely gorgeous. It was stocked with all the extras that sometimes you forget.
Overall I was highly impressed. I would rent this property again and again. It was very neat and well kept. The deck is stunning. Next time I want to bring my children. It's kid friendly and has plenty of rooms/beds.
lots of fun.....spacious....beautiful house
It was during winter we stayed here but its a great place to enjoy during winter with an skipark/ice rink within an hour's drive. beautiful house, spacious, safe for kids and well planned and established for families looking for relaxing. We had a great and memorable time during our stay. one recommendation would be added decorations for the holiday seasons...
Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback. I am sorry we only had a few holiday decorations this year. My mom was in and out of the hospital several times in December and we couldn’t quite make it up there to put them up. But I’m glad you had a wonderful time!
We just got back from our stay and we couldn't be happier with this wonderful home. It was as advertised, very kid friendly. We had 4 couples and with 7 kids aged 4 and under. There was plenty of space and everyone left happy with our choice. Owners were easy to get in contact with and friendly. We would highly recommend for large groups with children. We only wish that it didn't rain so much so we could have spent more time outside.
Amazing home with every amenity possible!
This home was amazing, we were extremely last minute with booking and the Myers made our experience unforgettable! We had kids from the age of 5 months to 8 years and there was something for everyone of them. The Myers were helpful with everything we needed including helping is find the best swimming holes around! I highly recommend this home.
A beautiful house, but Lakehead is HOT!
We had an enjoyable time at Lake Shasta. The house was exactly as described in the posting.
* The owners are accommodating and reasonable. We locked ourselves out of the house one day (totally our fault). We called them and the owners' father came over and let us back in without any hassle at all.
* The kitchen is well equipped. The appliances and kitchenware were top notch. We made really good use of the kitchen -- an ice cream maker, two waffle irons, frosty beer mugs, etc...
* The house is clean, new, and well maintained. You can tell that the owners try hard to keep things nice. My only real complaint was about the swaying bunkbeds. We ended up tightening the screws and it was perfectly fine.
* My biggest complaint isn't about the house. It is about Lakehead itself (I feel bad about knocking it down a star, but I'm grading the whole experience). The week we went, the weather was unbearably hot! It was 109 just about every day (I guess that is fairly normal for this area). The Lake is also super dry as a result of the severe draughts in California. As such, there was no swimming hole to speak of. We still went boating and had a good time. The porch was fantastic, but we were only able to enjoy it in the mornings. We mostly had to stick with indoor activities which meant that we had to drive down to Redding (about 35 minutes) practically every day.
* Only having 2.5 baths for a 5 bedroom house wasn't great, but we made it work. Again, exactly as advertised.
