About Justin

My husband and I grew up in nearby Miami, Florida, but we LOVE the Florida Keys. Ever since we visited my in-laws in Florida Keys, we've been going back to vacation as often as we can. As our family grew, we found Key Largo to be the perfect place to take the kids. They couldn't get enough of the ocean and the watersports, and my kids learned to swim in the canal behind our house. They were just amazed the first time we took them snorkeling - they said, 'Cool, it's like swimming in a giant fish tank!' There was no question, we had to invest in our own 'Key Largo Lodge'

Justin purchased this house in 2000

Why Justin chose Key Largo

Close to Miami and Fort Lauderdale but a world away in rest and relaxation. Only an hour south of Miami, you are removed from the hustle and bustle of the city, but still close enough to enjoy a day trip into the city for dining, entertainment or shopping. Mid-way from Miami to Key West you can travel to Key West for a day trip of shopping and sight seeing as well as catch the sunset activities at Mallory Square. Our House is located in the perfect location of the Keys. With the best diving, the best boat access and reefs, with access to the City and Key West we couldn't pass up this house. We will retire in this house.

What makes this house unique

Peace and Quiet. rest and relaxation. No traffic noise, just enough boat traffic to keep it interesting, a safe and clean deep and wide canal to swim and relax in. You will find you don't wanna leave the house. I almost forgot HBO and Cinemax when you wanna chill out at night after a full days activities.

Return stay

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at this wonderful home in February with a group of friends that makes an annual winter fishing trip to the keys each year. I recently stayed with my family before our son left for college. This house is an excellent find. Set in a quiet neighborhood, it is ideally located for food shopping, different tours for snorkeling, diving and fishing. Close to supermarkets and other stores for an extended stay. The kayak and canoe allow you to go into the mangroves to fish or just tour. The hot tub and outdoor seating area with t.v. and music combine nicely with the small fire pit to spend a late night together. Justin is an excellent owner to work with. He responds quickly to request or confirmation requests. I will be staying at this house again this winter and highly recommend it to anyone staying in Key Largo.

Great time, neat cottage

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for a week while scuba diving in Key Largo. We found the cottage to be neat, clean and cozy. We did not have the opportunity to use the hot tub, but everything else was fine and it served our purposes well. The house is in a quiet neighborhood just a few minutes from Pennekamp Park. Grocery stores, restaurants, shops and dive operations are all very close. We loved that the owners obviously spend time here and the decor reflects their interests. The owners were very responsive to emails and phone calls and I look forward to recommending this property to my friends and family. My only wish was that would have liked to have WiFi. Then again, it's good to be unplugged...

Love the place

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this place. It's like staying at your friend's Key Largo vacation place with all the comforts of home. Very warm and inviting, loved the decor and the neighborhood is great. We would have no problem just relocating there permanently. Lots of upgrades were recently made when we stayed Summer 2011. My only gripe, and I know it's silly, the skillet is nearly impossible to get fried egg off of,...took 2 days of soaking and scrubbing alternately and I even used non stick spray. I'll never leave the house again without our Circulon pan. Granted, it's a $75. skillet. ;) I hesitate to leave such a positive review because we really want to stay there again and I never know my availability for vacation time until a week or so out. Chances are when the word gets out, this house will be booked solid, well in advance!

Disappointing Property

  • 1 of 5

We had difficulty with the condition of the property. Hot tum was broke, door handles missing on sliders, disposal in kitchen not operational and then the power to the kitchen was shorted out. Also, the cable tv was not turned on. Overall, the property was very dirty and lacked maintence.
