Beautiful Country Retreat for all Four Seasons. Amazing Views for 25 miles on 83 Private Acres. Located near Stratton/Bromley skiing, Manchester/Dorest and the Green Mountain Forest hiking.
The house was built with superb craftsmanship featuring a restored post and beam barn frame with every modern amenity included in the 5,800 square feet living space. Vintage charm with new construction comfort. Large great room with kitchen/dining/lounging in front of a massive stone fireplace. Also included are: kid's game room, Kid's movie room, office loft, exercise area, massage room, closed and screened porches, and a wooded trail system for hiking/ATV.
Sleeps 15 comfortably so perfect for 'Big Chill' weekends, family reunions, guy and gal get-aways. Lots to do in summer, winter, spring and fall (leaf season is spectacular!).
We built this house because we fell in love with the Vermont countryside, the property views and the many fun things to do on a year around basis. We enjoy it as much as possible but our children have grown up and are away at school so we want to share this unique and wonderful place with other families.
Jennifer Robinson purchased this house in 2006
Beautiful landscape, mountain views and fresh air and the many sports and activities in the area.
Our group loved this property! Very nice main great room with updated kitchen and amazing views. Property was kept very clean and stocked with firewood. Our group made use of the outdoor fire pit and hiking trail right on the property. Plenty of beds to sleep the group and be comfortable. Would definitely rent again!
The hot tub was a perfect added bonus.
I would recommend this house to any type of visitor. Amazing views, beautiful rooms and the appliances were all top of the line. So happy we found this place.
The views are astounding. The house sits at the top of the mountain and has 360 degrees of gorgeous. The interior of the house is lovely, wide plank floors, beamed ceilings and a huge fireplace. Great decks to sit and enjoy the mountains. The kitchen is well equipped, all top of the line appliances and plenty of dishes and glassware.
A few small criticisms. There are not really 6 bedrooms. The master has a king bed, is a huge room off by itself and has windows on 3 walls. But no blinds or curtains so be prepared to be up with the sun. I love that but others might not. There is a nice size queen bedroom, a small queen bedroom, each with an attached bath and a bunk room on the lower level. Then on the upper level there is a dorm room with 4 twin beds. I suppose the massage room is technically a bedroom but there is no bed. There are also sofas in each of the dens which can be slept on. The bathrooms don't have hair dryers, so bring your own. I never travel with one as they are generally supplied. The showers are awesome however you will have to be careful with water consumption.
The road up is challenging. 4 wheel drive is essential for winter visits. We had an unusually warm week in February, the road was muddy and very slippery or icy and incredibly slippery. Plowed and passable but I was glad I chose to rent a 4 wheel SUV. You need to plan your groceries carefully, it's a long way down to any stores. The general store in Pawlet has a few essentials but it's a long drive to the nearest grocery stores.
We had a magnificent visit. Hiked the woods, cooked great meals, played games and snuggled by the fire.
Jen is a great person to rent from. She was really helpful. I can't thank her enough for providing us with this wondrous experience.
So much to rave about. The kitchen is awesome, with all of the state of the art appliances. The massage chair is absolutely heaven. The hot tub, fire pit, pool table, ping pong, Foosball, fireplace, five and a half bathrooms, all Ralph Lauren comforters and towels. The view is spectacular, and the house is so spacious. There was only thirteen of us, so it was even roomier.
About an hour from Okemo, but the drive is very scenic and went by quickly.
The owners are very nice and accommodating.
There were a few minor glitches, but all in all... 100% Recommend !
