Great location! Hard to contact owner.
The property is in a great location. House was not numbered and GPS sends you further than driveway is. (First house on the street) Easy drives to Fryeburg and North Conway. Arrival information was not given and there was no way to access the property. After driving down the road to find cell phone service to contact owner we were told there was a key hidden but key was not where it was reportedly hidden. Once we got in the house was gorgeous.tons of space and nice wood beam ceilings. A short walk down to the lake with the rec hall. Loved the bowling alley and docks!
Thank you for your review and we're very sorry for the initial impression and thankful for the lasting impression.
Our property manager dropped the ball on this one and we've put controls in place to make sure it doesn't happen again.
Thank you for staying at Twin Pines!
Easy to get to and a very comfortable place to stay
We had a wonderful time at this rental house.
The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is, shower situation is not very convenient.
No place to put your towel, no towel hooks, the one bathroom sink as well as kitchen sink is not secure and the whole faucet turns if you're not careful. The coffee maker leaked all over, and unless you like old, flat pillows... bring your own.
Also, it wasn't clear where the rec building was, or if we had access to the canoes and kayaks. My email wasn't responded to for us to find out.
The place is clean, roomy and comfortable though.
Lovely Lake House
We very much enjoyed our stay in this lovely home, but there were a few quirks that kept me from giving this house five stars.
Firstly, Kezar Lake and the Westways association (where the house is located) is a magical place to stay. The lake is a gem - pristine and clean.
The house is not on the lake, but is a short walk to the waterfront area that the association members use. The couple days that we spent on the lake we drove all of our "stuff" down for a day by the water.
The recreation hall, which as an association member, the house has use of, was amazing. Our kids loved it. The bowling alley was enjoyed by all of us, from age 5 to 75!
The house itself is quite large and didn't feel cramped at all for nine of us. There were plenty of beds, and then some, for everyone.
There is only one shower in the house, which is upstairs. The shower stall room is off the main bathroom (which has no door on it), and has two sinks in it. The shower area has a sliding barn door so you have privacy while showering. We found, upon arriving at the house, that both lights in the shower area did not work, so we could not close the door to the shower area because it would be too dark to see. And since the main room to the bathroom had no door on it, we did not have total privacy showering. I emailed the owner to let her know this on about our second or third day, but never got a response back. The bathroom is also sorely lacking in hooks and towel racks as well as shelving. There was one hook and one towel rack in the shower area. Considering there were 8 of us showering, there was just no where to put towels, toiletries etc.
The house was well equipped with tons of bathroom and beach towels and sheets for the beds.
The kitchen was a bit quirky - only about 3 cereal bowls but enough mixed plates, plenty of flatware but a lot tarnished/rusted looking, and a weird mix of glasses with only about 2-3 wine glasses. Not a big deal but when your're paying over $4000 per week I would expect a better. There was also a lot of leftover dry goods from other renters I'm assuming. Good supply of dried herbs and spices for cooking. Suprisingly, no microwave.
The outdoor shower would have been lovely to use after the beach but was not working, which we also notified the owner about.
Lastly, the Homeaway app lists checkout as 11 but the housekeepers showed up at 10 to clean, so we had to rush out.
Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and look forward to going back to Kezar.
Great fun for Sisters weekend!!!
Every year we do this trip to someplace where we can JUST be sister...not Moms or Wives, with NO responsibilities but to relax and enjoy each other...This lakehouse fit the bill in every way...we had plenty of room to spread out..all the beds were very comfy..bathroom were CLEAN and very up dated...there was very little we needed that wasn't available..the TV was our only problem..none of us could figure it out..but we got around it and were still able to watch the Patriots!!! some web sites don't depict the actual home but this is spot on...really a gem...thanks for a GREAT weekend...
The house was beautiful. The attention to detail within the actual home was wonderful. Big spaces, lots of room (way more than we needed!). Would be a perfect home for large/extended families. The yard was very private and enclosed. It was a bit of a walk to the lake so you need to be sure you have everything with you at the outset (no bathroom down near lake). But, overall peaceful, quiet, clean lake, and, of course....great bowling! Westways is a great community without being "on top of each other" like some others.
Sue, thank you for you review, we're glad you enjoyed the whole community at Westways and our home. Since you didn't find the port-a-potty down at the beach area, I'll update our in house book to show it's location on the map.
Hope to see you again at the lake...
Fantastic Family Vacation
The description says it all "Fabulous Kezar Lake retreat". This is the perfect place if you're traveling with your family. We had 6 adults and 4 children aged 3 to 6 and there was more than enough room. The house was very clean and the yard was great. The bunkhouse had a great screened porch off the back which was perfect for kids. There was also a nice screened room off the living room and master bedroom which is a great place to relax. The kids loved the yard and the adults loved the nice patio and large outdoor dining table where we ate dinner. We drove down to the lake to drop off our stuff and to bring our stuff back to the house. It takes 2 minutes to drive down to the lake, you don't even have to buckle up. The walk to the lake is really nice and my 4 year old was able to do it with no problem. Another great feature of the property is the rec room with the 2 lane bowling alley, ping pong table and pool table. There is a really nice path along the water that goes from the rec room to the lake. The lake is beautiful and perfect for small children. There is a really large grass field with a swing set and a gradual slope into the water. There isn't a big sand area but the kids didn't mind...they still managed to build their sand castles. We took the kids to Story Land which was about 45 minutes away. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone who is looking to get away and spend quality time their family. Beth was very nice and made sure to call on the day we arrived. She was a pleasure to deal with and we look forward to coming back again.
I'm so glad you enjoyed Kezar Lake and my home, we look forward to your return next year!
Located on the eastern shore of Kezar Lake, along the 'gold coast' with great sunset views over the White Mountains
