Asheville Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 3-4)

Looking for a unique Asheville experience and a taste of what makes our beautiful town different from all of the others?

The 'Silver Moon' is an adorable vintage log cabin that has been completely renovated and is conveniently located 7-10 minutes from downtown and the Biltmore Estate and 1 mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is uniquely situated in a quiet neighborhood of similar cabins that was originally built in the 1920s-30s as a resort. Enjoy all of the modern amenities (yes, we have wifi) in a cozy log cabin!

This 720 square foot cabin has 2 cozy bedrooms, each with it's own bathroom. One bedroom has a queen-sized bed with an adjoining bathroom that has a tub. The second bedroom has a twin bed and a twin futon, and the bathroom has a walk-in shower. Offering charm and comfort, smiles upon entering are guaranteed!

Affordable and in the midst of everything that's happening in Asheville, 'The Silver Moon' is a perfect retreat for a romantic get-away, business, or while planning a re-location to the area. It is spotlessly clean and lovingly managed by an attentive owner who wants you to have a perfect vacation experience. Inside the cabin you will find information about local attractions, maps, restaurant suggestions and menus to help you begin your Asheville adventure.

The cabin is perfect for a couple, a small family with 1-2 children or 2-3 friends traveling together.

About The Owner

After moving to Asheville in 2003, I knew that these gorgeous mountains would hold me forever. I discovered and interest and talent in home renovations and after restoring several cabins, I left the profession of physical therapy and now focus full-time on managing our log cabin rental business. My other favorite pastimes are gardening, hiking and paddling my kayak on some of our beautiful lakes in the area.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2006

Why The Owner chose Smoky Mountains

I fell in love with this unique little neighborhood of log cabins and the huge, beautiful oak and poplar trees that line the quiet streets. It has a real mountain area 'feel', yet is located right in the midst of Asheville. When the Silver Moon became available, I jumped at the opportunity to purchase and totally renovate it.

What makes this cabin unique

The Silver Moon is located close to downtown, the Biltmore Estate and the Blue Ridge Parkway, yet has a distinctive 'mountain home' feeling that you can escape to after a day of site-seeing. You can enjoy a glass of wine while sitting in the porch swing on the covered front porch in the midst of a historic, quiet little neighborhood. Oh, yes...smiles are guaranteed!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We absolutely LOVED staying in your cabin! It's by far the coziest and cleanest cabin we have stayed in. We brought along our 6 month old baby for his first vacation and loved the location of the cabin. It was very close to everything we wanted to do with our little man (hiking, WNC nature center, Arboretum). Everything was perfect!

Thanksgiving 2016

  • 5 of 5

I love using VRBO to find vacation rentals for our family. Once again I found a winner! Our family of four decided we wanted to escape NC Beach Life for a NC Mountain Thanksgiving. Our Vintage Log Canin was perfect for us. Our teenagers (13 & 16) even loved the cabin. Everything was just as Mary had described and had shown in her listing. This was probably the first rental we have had that actually had a perfectly stocked kitchen. We even cooked a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner (with the help of our crockpot).

The cabin's location and neighborhood were perfect. We were close to everything we wanted to do, but not in the middle of everyone else. The Blue Ridge Parkway entrance was just down the road from the cabin. The Biltmore House was an easy drive to the other side of down. Downtown was a great place to be on Black Friday. I recommend LaZoom City Comedy Bus tour as well as a stop at the local breweries.

If we plan another Asheville vacation we will defintely use this cabin again.

Cozy cabin for fall weekend

  • 5 of 5

This was our first VRBO experience and it went great. Working with Mary was easy and she had tons of helpful information about the history of the area, attractions, dining, etc. in a binder in the cabin. The cabin is cozy and the gas fire was wonderful - it was a chilly October weekend. Everything we needed was there. Just enough room for us - 2 adults and 2 young teens. Great location for the many activities we did in the area, close to downtown for dining, etc.

A Bit of Heaven and History in Asheville

  • 5 of 5

My sister and I stayed here over a long weekend exploring Asheville and, while that city has more than its share of diversions, we were most charmed by the Silver Moon! This is no ordinary vacation rental; this is a HOME in every sense of the word, right down to the welcoming mums and autumn decorations on the porch. Comfortable cabin furnishings, wonderful artwork, and no scrimping on supplies or amenities. Every single need or question has been anticipated and answered - the informational notebook at the cabin covers absolutely everything. The history of the cabin as a part of the old Homeland Resort made the stay even more special, and the cozy neighborhood of cabins and homes made us wish the resort still existed - well, it comes close, thanks to the incredibly careful renovation of this property. We were so glad to have had a chance to meet the owner and hear her story about the restoration. The local Italian restaurant fed us several nights, and the local grocery store helped us keep the kitchen stocked. We Never Wanted To Leave. We were like the neighborhood cats who wandered about, just happy to stretch out on the porch swing or curl up with a book and blanket on the living room couch. Thank You, Mary, for sharing this gem with us - we will always remember our time there. Best VRBO ever for us!!

Lovely cabin

  • 5 of 5

My brother and I stayed here while visiting family in the area. The cabin was charming, cozy and very clean. Very relaxing place to be. It was conveniently located near the Blue Ridge Parkway and a short jaunt to the Interstate and to downtown. Nice Italian restaurant and even an ice cream parlor within walking distance. Pretty landscaping in quiet neighborhood. Owner gives you lots of information about area attractions and low budget fun ideas. Everything from the fireplace gas logs to the washer and dryer worked. The linens were high quality.

Great Get Away Cabin and With an Awesomely, Helpful Owner

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Silver Moon while we visited the Asheville area, Blue Ridge Parkway, and Biltmore House. The cabin as at an excellent location, nearby for many sights, and such a wonderful choice for a place to stay. Mary provides so many wonderful extras, like directions to places we might want to go, restaurant recommendations, etc. There are some great restaurants nearby, and we really appreciated the information about which restaurants are good in the area. The little touches like coffee, tea, leaving the light on, etc. made it feel like home. We were so thankful to have the cozy cabin for relaxing in the evening. If / when we return to the Asheville area, we will definitely plan on staying in this cabin again.. It was awesome!

Fabulous Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Amazing cabin! Amazing neighborhood! Definitely the highlight of our girls trip! This cute cabin had every amenity that we would need! Mary, the owner was fabulous! This was especially true when I misread our confirmation! She was gracious and accommodating! We would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Asheville area. The location is convenient to the Biltmore, Blue Ridge Parkway, and the Grove Park Inn!
