About the property

beautiful rural setting close to everything , 10 open acres beautiful views

The historic Musterfield House was built in 1784 There are six bedrooms and 16 can sleep comforably.. This beautiful 5000+ sq ft home was a stop on the underground railroad. This is an exceptional home for groups from 6-16 The home is comfortably hosts large groups and .small.

This is a "home" for your visit. It beckons you to have fun, relax and enjoy the people you are with. All the while having plenty of space for privacy. The house is 5500 sq ft. You will enjoy if you are a large muti generation family, playing softball in the big yard. or looking to dine elegantly with friends. We have hosted 'girls weekend away', Williams events, family reunions, friends coming to from all over the country to spend time together. The house is great for 6 or 16 its very flexible. Read a book in the library, while noisey kids play a video game. You wont be bothered. They knew how to build a house 227 ago.

The Amenities: We try to provide all the comforts of home. The kitchen with its huge center island, is perfect for several cooks. It is well equipped to cook gormet meals. Dine at the causal table or a formal dinner for 12 in the dining room. Games, toys, videos, b, there is a closet full of fun things for adults and children. The outdoor area has a huge propane grill, a fire pit, everything for dining outside. There is a (12'x4') small swimming pool and play area for children. We have tried to think of everything.

The fun people have had!: I raised my family in the house, it has been so satisfying to know the fun my renters have had there. Once again the house ifs filled with love laughter and good times. I always stop by to be sure all is going smooth. I have been able to share a little of those good times. The history of the house is fascinating. From its role as a part of the Underground Railroad during the Civil War, to the 200+ babies that were born there. So close to all the great attractions of the Berkshires but a true country house with horses (sometimes) in the back yard.

The possibilites of activities are vast. theater, music, dining, world class museums hiking golf horeback riding, alpine slide Tanglewood, Jacobs Pillow, Shakespeare and Co. Something wonderful for all ages. I will offer any help you need to plan the perfect vacation for you.

The Musterfield house is a perfect place for "events" Bridal parties, showers, luncheons, rehersal dinner, whatever yor event, I accept up to 35 people.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Friday night we gave a big party in the backyard other grads and their families. It was a fun way to start the celebration. We rented tables and chairs, but everything else we needed was there. The house had enough lovely bedrooms and baths for my parents, grandparents, and friends. The master suite is huge. It is such a beautiful spot

Yes, this property is little over 30 minute drive to/from Jiminy Peak Ski Resort... So WHAT?!?!?! You will not find any rental property this grand and wonderful near Jiminy Peak! 9 of us stayed over the weekend for our ski/board trip to Jiminy Peak. Everyone loved the house and not a single complaint. Very clean, well appointed and maintained! Listing description and photos are ACCURATE! What about the owner? Corinne was WONDERFUL and very pleasant to work with. 5 stars for the property and 5 stars for customer service! No need to research further, YES, this is the ONE. Contact Corinne and make your reservation with confidence! =)

The pictures show a very lovely home. It is all that and more. We were celebrating my mother-in-laws 70th birthday.. The children (5 of them) were disappointed that we were "renting " a house. They sure grandma would prefer a trip to Disney . Well, the kids had such a great time.Wanted to know when we are going back. This house is huge, we all had plenty of space. The kichen is big enough for all of us to prepare meals. I highly recommend this house. We can't wait to return

Great family weekend

  • 5 of 5

We just spent the weekend at the Musterfield house and it was perfect! There were 10 of us and there was more than enough room. The house is beautiful and all the beds were very comfortable. Corinne had plenty of towels, blankets, and pillows provided for us to use. It was easy to find and much to do in the area. Corinne made renting easy and she was so nice even when we left something behind she found it and mailed it back to us. We can't thank her enough for the use of this great home and her hospitality. We will definitely rent from her again!

This house has everything! Our family enjoyed 10 days here, including Christmas day. The kitchen is huge with fabulous counter and cupboard space. We loved the island complete with an extra sink. There is a great selection of pots, pans, baking dishes, and appliances. We also loved the beautiful gold edged dinnerware that made meals here taste so elegant in the formal dining room.

This house was perfect for us. The library was a favorite cozy spot to go and read in peace and quiet. The living room adjacent to the kitchen was fantastic because the cooks could be a part of the festivities, while whipping up culinary delights. The family room was huge and was a great place to play late night, noisy games without disturbing the oldest and the youngest who had gone to bed earlier.

The bedrooms were huge and beautiful with very comfortable beds.

I can't say enough good things about this house. The owner is so responsive and very kind and flexible. We have rented many houses in the past, but my family all agreed that this one was tops! We hope to come back again.

Musterfield house is the most beautiful rental home I have ever stayed in! There was plenty of room for everybody to sleep, hang out, cook, etc. and it truly felt like we were staying in a palace. Corinne was a pleasure to work with and her rates are VERY reasonable! I would highly recommend this place to stay and we definitely plan on coming back!

Had my wedding here! beautiful place to stay!!

  • 5 of 5

My review is looong over due and I am so sorry to Corrine that I have not been able to get to this before. Anyways, I want to say that this house is absolutely amazing! In June I rented the musterfield house for a week to hold my small wedding here and treat my family and bridal party to a little vacation. My friends and I still look back and think about our week spent here as one of the best times of our lives! The house is so beautiful and has everything you need to feel right at home, the treehouse bedroom and master suite make you feel as if your living in luxury! My husband and I have 5 kids and they all wish we never had to leave :-)! My wedding was small and intimate but very beautiful and magical! We were married under the willow tree in the back yard and had our reception in the gorgeous family room with plenty of space for everyone! As a bride being able to prepare for my special day in a bathroom and changing room that is bigger than my master bedroom at home was AMAZING ... can you imagine that 8 women were getting ready for a wedding all at the same time and everyone had enough space!! We absolutely plan to rent the house again and hope to make more wonderful memories here!

Owner's Response: Your review is too flattering. The most flattering of all is what a wonderful wedding you have. I am sure it was it was for the most part a happy, loving family coming together for a joyous occasion. At 229 years old The Musterfield House has is aches and pains. You set the expectation very high. I thank you. The best is that the house remains a place that gives people such happy memories. Have a wonderful married life Stephanie. Corinne

The Bershires are the summer cultural capital of the USA. The arts offerings overflow. Theater, Tanglewwod ,opera , Shakespeare and Co. Dance at Jacobs Pillow. Then there are the outdoor activities. Golf, white water rafting, hiking, tennis. Or just relax, breath the country air, the breezes, open the windows in the house and the cross winds will cool you as you listen to the sweet summer sounds. It is a wonderful destination for children. I think you would find the house very 'child friendly' in both summer and winter. I have all the equipment for toddlers and babies. (crib, high chair toys etc) They can run the open acres of the back yard and you can sit and the huge deck and watch them while you enjoy a glass of wine. There is a Mass State Park a mile down the road Get vegatables from the farmers market, go to a 'farm team' baseball game. Williamstown sophisticated or simple its up to you.

What I feel is a bit special, I offer you a home to rent and not a house. You are in a beautiful country setting yet so close to anything you might need.
