About Peg Fitzgerald

The Vermont 1828 Reunion House is "Where Memories are Made." Built in 1828 the historic farmhouse is the perfect place for large family gatherings with dinners in the dining room and intimate conversations in front of the roaring fire in the lodge. There is plenty of space for privacy as well as ten acres of woodland and pasture for exploration. The woods, meadow, and hills also include a small pond. And the beauty of the Williams River located next to the house is a beautiful spot in any season.

Over the years, the warmth and character of the home have welcomed many a visitor. Whether snow-loving-folks are visiting the covered mountains in winter, rugged hikers in the spring, or leaf peepers admiring the red sugar maples, each visitor has been wrapped in the nostalgic warmth of this quintessential farmhouse.

Eight bedrooms, each unique in traditional decor, and four bathrooms allow for ample space for guests. With two kitchens connected with an old fashioned pass thru window, meal preparation becomes a family affair. Did I mention the commercial grade Wolf Stove? This home is ideally suited for family and friend reunions. Clubs, associations, artists, musicians, snowmobilers, antique hunters, the list, goes on and on. All who have stayed have found a home away from home at the 1828 House.

The adjacent barn is a living relic, and one can marvel at the rustic construction from another time. Currently, it is another hang-out-area with a ping pong table, foosball table, and even a punching bag to provide an outdoor game area.

With plenty of parking, dirt roads for walking and clear star filled skies at night, your cares will ease, and your focus will shift to the love of being with family and friends, enjoying the simple pleasures of life.

Guestbook comments from the manager

The 1828 Reunion House is situated in a great area. Beautiful nature and wonderful smaller and bigger towns within 10 - 20 minutes of driving. Next to the house runs a small river through a wooded area. A very nice stroll for early in the morning or after dinner. Nice living rooms, a great great dining room! The kitchens have everything a person needs,

Absolutely love this house!

This place was big enough for my large family to stay for the week and be totally comfortable. Love how close it is to Okemo. Definitely want to rent it again this winter.

Awesome

  • 5 of 5

This place has it all for a large family or large group of friends. From pre teens, to young adults and young adults at heart. Sleigh riding in the back yard, ping pong and foosball in the barn, roaring fire in the family area and large dining tables, oh and there is skiing and riding right up the road. If you are looking for a great place to hang out with a larger group, our group was 24 all ages (and some that did not ski), this is the place.

Perfect Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The 1828 House was the perfect house for our getaway/reunion! The fireplace was awesome- we spent most of our time there. The creek behind the house was great for nature walks and the ski resort was only a 5 minute drive away. The house was really cozy yet big enough that I never felt crowded. Hope to go back.
