Annual Family Trip

  • 5 of 5

We do family travel every year and this year we chose Yellowstone. We have a big family so it is very difficult to find a PERFECT place to stay for the entire week and Shadowood Lodge was a PERFECT place for our family. Tutti and her husband are very fun and responsive. The lodge is secluded but extremely beautiful and yet close to everything that our family needs from activities to groceries. The kitchen has everything we need to cook for a family of 14. The first night we got there we were able to relax and enjoy the area since Tutti had arranged for us a nice dinner delivered by her, which was excellent. Tutti is a fun and caring person. You just have to meet her in person in order to appreciate her caring and friendliness.

The house has everything we need to cook, entertain, and house for 14 of us and more. It is literally 30 minutes from the North Entrance of the park and about 3 hours to the Grand Teton National Park. We love everything about this property and Tutti and her husband. If there is one thing that I wish it could be better is the internet service speed but I understand due to a location of the property. Thank you Tutti for making our trip more enjoyable.

To celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary, we decided to take a family trip to Yellowstone. We found Shadowood Lodge on the Internet and immediately booked it for the first week in August. We were so pleasantly surprised that the lodge was nicer than the pictures portrayed. So much space and everyone did what they wanted from playing pool, putting a puzzle together, playing chess, and just relaxing with a good book. The scenery is amazing and we enjoyed the visits from the deer every day. Tutti was so gracious and welcoming and the grandkids loved her wonderful brownies. We highly recommend the Lodge and would definitely stay there again.

Perfect place to stay

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed at many VRBO properties and this, by far, was the best ever. It is above and beyond your regular mountain cabin. We had a party of 11, 3 adults and 8 kids, and had plenty of room. Beautifully feel like you are walking into a 5 star accommodation property! The beds were comfortable with tons of pillows and the bathrooms had towels a plenty. The kitchen was to die for!!! Everything you need and more! Plus, games, pool table and chess set kept everyone occupied! The kids didn't even want to go to Yellowstone one day because they just wanted to hang out and the lodge! We had some deer and elk roaming in the front yard. Tutti, the owner, is one of the sweetest people I've ever encountered. Wish I would have been able to thank her in person for allowing us to stay at her amazing home. If we ever go back, there is no doubt where we would stay! Thanks so much!

Remote and also remarkable

  • 4 of 5

Three couples shared the house just about a week ago, and at first sight we were really blown away by the house itself and the view. I think the owner really tried to make us comfortable and the list of activities she provided were very helpful. I would remark that the drive up the mountain takes longer than would be imagined because the road is winding and after dark it requires slow going. Also, renters should be aware that there are two long stairways to enter the home. We found that it took us about 30 minutes to get to the North entrance of Yellowstone. The beauty and tranquility of the setting can't be exaggerated, and for families the home would be really great. The owner was so accommodating and lovely - she really added to the experience and we thank her very much.

The best vacation ever

  • 5 of 5

This was absolutely the most amazing cabin that I have ever seen...tucked away in Paradise Valley in the top of a mountain this cabin provides the most majestic view from every angle. This cabin is spacious and we were in need for nothing...anything that we needed was provided in the cabin and the owner was so gracious as to stop and see if there may be anything that she could do for us. I took all three of my kids...their spouses and two grandkids. I also had my very best friend that lives close by...her husband and son and there was more than enough room. I can honestly say this was the most amazing vacation that my family has ever had. It was conveniently located close to Yellowstone park and of course that was part of our itinerary. The decor is like a museum and everyday we found something new that we hadn't seen before. THANK YOU to the owner Tutti for allowing us to enjoy her home as if it was ours!!

Wonderful mountain getaway

  • 5 of 5

I came to Montana from Washington DC to have a mountain getaway and Shadowood did not disappoint. No detail was overlooked in the lodge from heated floors to the large welcoming rooms and comfortable beds. We were able to truly relax and leave city life behind.

The pictures provided really do not do the lodge justice. The high quality of the décor and furnishings are just as other reviewers have mentioned.

The spectacular views are also as advertised and the lodge was a quick trip to the northern entrance of Yellowstone park. This was an amazing trip and I have already recommended Shadowood to my friends and we are already planning our return trip.
