On Nemacolin Grounds..Romantic Interlude or Family Fun

Bedrooms 2
Space 1,000 sq. ft.
Property type condo
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

2 story 2 bedroom/2 bath (plus small inflatable in play room)..on resort grounds

If you prefer the tranquil ambiance of a mountain retreat, but with down comforters, Natuzi leather chairs, and the option to ring for room service from a 5 star restaurant, then you should definitely call me. Attractively decorated and tastefully appointed with certified 'Protect-a-Bed' mattresses and box spring encasements found in many high-end hotels... kid friendly, but not through sacrifice of adult tastes ... the accommodations capture an elegant 'homey-ness' while providing access to most of the amenities of a world class resort and spa.

Located in the heart of the resort, this two bedroom condo has over 1000 square feet contained in two living levels. The second level is a full loft with cathedral ceiling, full bath and play room. The large furnished deck is private and overlooks wooded terrain and a small stream.

Please note that although the number of guests is listed as 5, the number relates to combined adults and children as there are only 2 queen beds and one small inflatable in the playroom that is meant for a child. If larger accommodations are needed, I have an attached one bedroom unit that, if available, I can offer for a reduced rate. Renting both therefore provides 3 queen size beds and 3 full baths plus an additional 680 square feet.

Conveniently located, you are in walking distance to the spa and many other resort activities. And for additional convenience there is a free shuttle which can take you to any and all of the other resort facilities...from the world class golfing and shooting academy, to the wild animal habitat and equestrian center, to the restaurants (one with free standing aquarium and pool hall), to the casino. There is also a mountaintop heated condo pool with lifeguard, beach towels, lounge chairs, tables and vending machines. Or if the snow keeps you from the outdoor pool, snuggle in front of a log burning fireplace with board games and complimentary hot chocolate and popcorn...after skiing and a horse drawn sleigh ride of course.

Or if you want an intimate evening with dinner and cocktails, start with a massage or one of the other 100+ treatment and salon services at the internationally acclaimed Feng Shui-inspired spa. It was rated #10 Resort Spa in North America and #4 Conde Nast 'Top Spas for Treatment'. Next, drop the young ones off at the Kids Club and send the teens safely on the shuttle to 'The Apex Entertainment Complex with its 'kid-awesome' arcades and bowling alleys. Finally...your time! So stroll the halls of the chateau and chalet, wine glass in hand, as you head to the Mobil 5 Star, AAA 5 Diamond Lautrec or one of the other esteemed resort restaurants.

And once you've exhausted what you thought had to be all the resort activities, take advantage of the instruction of an acclaimed PGA Master Professional at the new state of the art 360 degree computerized Nike Fitting System. THAT will help master your game on the resort's Par 72, 7,526 yard PGA tested course which was awarded the 2010 Gold Medal Award by Golf Magazine. But if golf's not your thing, try out the Orvis-endorsed Fly Fishing Center's half or full day guided river trips or one of their casting and tying lesson. Or maybe check out the 35 stations with towers, the 5 stand pavilion, and the integrated Wobble Trap Field at the 140 acre Shooting Academy. Or how about the three challenging Off-Road Terrain Courses and 600 wooded acres awaiting the nourishment of all that human adrenalin? But I MUST warn you to watch out for the stalking black leopard on the Safari Trail or even the lions that you pass while biking or walking the grounds. I would like you to rent from me again.

But wait, there's more!! Why not take a scenic 15 minute drive to explore glorious Ohiopyle State Park and walk or bike the fantastic trails or feel the rush of adrenalin as you brave the perils of white-water rafting. Or about the same distance away you can have a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's magnificent Falling Water. And finally, don't forget all those antique shops, flea markets and historic landmarks just a stone's throw from the condo.

About barbara brown

My husband and I bought our condo when our daughter was eleven years old. It afforded us an opportunity to escape from the city and 'camp out' while still being culturally spoiled. But it also afforded us an opportunity to ski, horseback ride, paintball, play tennis and swim. In addition, our daughter had the opportunity to role play 'Eloise at the Plaza', taking the shuttle on her own to any and all new and daring adventures. She experienced so much of life there. From the deck I can still imagine streamers which hung from the trees near the various clubhouses she and her Nemacolin friends built over the years. She is currently in her first year of residency and her former play room is now for our guests to enjoy, even to write their names and personal notes on its walls as she did (yes, moms and dads, it IS Ok, but only the play room, please). Commitments and obligations now keep me from enjoying the place as I once did but when it's not rented and I am free, I think nothing of taking off at midnight so I can wake up there to all the things that first captivated me, from the wooded terrain to the art, the spa and the food...the place has it all. I love the condo and its memories. I think you will too.

Why barbara brown chose Laurel Highlands

My condo is in the center of its own glorious world. Within a few minutes, either walking or driving, I am exposed to art and architecture; one of the best martinis I've ever had; a fully equipped state of the art gym and spa; great shopping (that's where I buy most of my presents); prime golf and clay shooting; the most serene snowfalls and autumn foliage; and lions, tigers and bears (Oh My!) It is a safe and fun-filled environment for kids or a warm and accommodating space for adult friends to gather and play. It's a paradise!

What makes this condo unique

For larger parties this condo can be combined with my attached one bedroom unit, transforming your space to a 1700 square foot 3 story/ 3 bedroom/3 bath townhome that can sleep 7. I offer special discounts for such a rental.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The townhouse exceeded all our expectations. It has such a wonderful ambiance- great for us, and from the looks of the play room, I'd say great for kids too. I felt that we were welcome guests in a gracious home. There is such attention to detail and the whole place is so tastefully decorated - with comfort, wit and great bedding. There are so many extras that I never thought would be in a rental property. I even borrowed the reading glasses as I forgot mine. The place is so neat and yet inviting. Of course, the resort is amazing, and we experienced it all for less than half what it cost us the last time when we stayed at the resort. We will be regulars here. I can't wait until the summer.

Beautiful home away from home

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I loved Nemacolin, the Laurel Highlands, and especially the condo. Barbara has thought of everything, and provides every amenity you can think of, and then some. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

Treehouse in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

This is our second visit and we had another very pleasurable experience. The condo is super clean and well stocked with everything you will need. Barbara, the owner, is extremely accommodating and available to help if you need anything during your visit. We really enjoyed the back deck this visit. Our daughter thought we were staying in a tree house. We also enjoyed the private pool as well as all the amenities Nemocolin has to offer.

Great condo at Nemacolin!

This is our second time staying in the condo, and as usual it was lovely. Great amenities, nice little back deck, and close to the resort! My kids also really enjoyed the playroom. I'm sure we will stay here again!

Second Year Staying Here

  • 5 of 5

This is second year we have stayed at this property. After 15 years of coming to Nemacolin and staying in all lodgings, this provides warm comforts of home when taking breaks from all the activities in the area. Sure the TV is a bit outdated but we are not coming to watch TV however this home provides everything needed to connect as a family. The owner is exceptional and accommodating.

Laurel Highlands Outing

  • 5 of 5

These adjacent condo units were ideally situated and appointed for a very comfortable stay for our family group. With proximity to Fallingwater, Kentuck Knob, Ft Necessity, and other area sights, and with plenty of choices on the Nemacolin property for dining, recreation and relaxation, spa and wellness services, this rental suited us perfectly. The property is both convenient yet quietly secluded, with interior layout and decor completely comfortable and attractive. Our family recommends this choice without hesitation for those seeking a carefree stay in the Laurel Highlands.
