The chalet was cozy and well appointed. Neil was great about communicating with us.
Great rental. Had everything we needed. Communication with Neil was wonderful. Would stay again.
Not a winter place to stay.
Place is nice enough, but really dated. We had to shovel the drive so our car could get in and out. Neighbors kept turnaround area blocked by one of their guest, most of the weekend. We had to get our car towed out of the driveway with just a fresh dusting of snow. Neighbors were very helpful, this a spring and summer place I think.
We would respectfully disagree. We have sucessfully rented this chalet year round for nine years and never had an issue of this kind. The driveway is plowed and accessible. This was a sudden, unexpected snow squall that dropped a few inches very quickly. The guest, upon entering the driveway, went off the pavement and got stuck on the side. Our neighbor, who shares the same driveway, and another neighbor in the community did the neighborly thing. They pulled the guest out at no charge, shoveled the light snow away, and threw down some salt.
The blocked turn-around issue could have been resolved immediately if the guest had simply notified us. We pride oursleves in being attentive to these needs. Unfortunatly we were not made aware.
As for the house, it is exactly as pictured in the photos. A clean, classic A-frame with a lot of character, cozy bedrooms, and a fireplace. Additionally it has a nice view of the lake which is much better in the winter when the leaves are off the trees. It is also very competitively priced.
We are sorry this incident happened but to say that it"s not a winter place is to miss the beauty of the season and the experience of a winter time lakeside retreat.
I had family visit my newborn daughter from Brazil. They arrived and were pleasantly surprised to the size of the Chalet. The pictures don't do it justice. Neil, the homeowner, was very acomadating and went above and beyond to make sure my family was comfortable. It snowed one night we were there and when we woke up in the morning, the driveway had already been plowed and cleaned. I would definitely recommend the Chalet to anyone! I plan on booking the Chalet with my wife in the future for a long weekend getaway.
Perfect little spot for our thanksgiving stay
Cool A-frame house. Awesome fireplace and big deck. They make great use of space in the house and pack a lot in the house. Driveways a bit steep, as are on the stairs in the house.
Charming little mountain retreat!
The Chalet fulfilled our desires for a Lakeview, mountain retreat. It’s a pleasure to wake up to see the sun glistening over the lake through the trees. The house is well furnished and kitchen is well stocked with all the utensils you’ll need. My wife and I opted to use the main floor bedroom rather than attempt the steep steps to the adorable loft bedroom. As other guests have noted, the driveway can be a little tricky especially when exiting with the main drive right there, but we managed okay. Our new Subaru was fairly easy to negotiate, but larger SUVs may find it a tighter fit. Walking down the road to both beach areas provides a great workout - just take caution on the narrow roads.
Nighttime is special because it’s very dark and quiet. Plenty of stacked firewood made relaxing by the fireplace very enjoyable. If I could change one thing it might be to update the bathroom with a bigger toilet and vanity with more counter space. I found it a bit cramped. But all-in-all it’s a great little get-away place. Owners are very nice and accommodating! I had to call them when we managed to unpair the Cable remote with TV, and he was very personable and patient (my Sunday night NFL was on the line!). This place was everything my wife and I hoped to find for our anniversary! Loved every minute!
A wonderful home in a wonderful neighborhood!
