Why Bonnie Jacobs chose Utah

My husband has always wanted a REAL log home. SO, we picked a really unique 11 acre ridge top lot. The location has incredible 100 mile PANORAMIC views. The elevation is about 8000 ft. The temperatures in the Summer are the best! Taking in ALL of the outdoor activities is so....nice, then maybe in the evening a sweatshirt is needed. You can't beat it! Then the Fall season, the color change of the leaves are a sure thing to talk about. Then the Winter,a crazy snow storm one day, then the next is a beautiful sunny day! You can't beat Utah's snow!!!!

What makes this cabin unique

The best thing about the location of the home is the 100+ mile views from inside and outside this home. As there are windows, windows and more windows. Being that it is centraly located to all of the things to see and do in the Southern Utah area is a real plus. The Dixie National Forest is our backyard. The easy access to 100's of miles of trails is really nice. Also, the Elk Bugling in AUG,SEPTand OCT is an experience that you'll never forget!Prime, Prime property! Guaranteed, you won't be disappointed, and actually you'll probably never want to leave!!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our family had a wonderful time in the Southwest and greatly enjoyed the Elk Ridge Estates cabin. We appreciated the pristine condition we found it in when we arrived. The views and amenities were fabulous! We prepared and enjoyed some memorable dinners in the well-equipped kitchen and dining room. The movie room and pool table were a real hit with the younger members of our family.

Thank you for facilitating our stay. It was all we had hoped for and more.

This is the place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

I would definitely recommend this spacious and tranquil property. It is well worth the money spent. We are so happy we found it and had such a memorable trip. The owner was very helpful and kind with any information I needed. The house was very clean and the views are breathtaking. It was a delight for all to see deer and turkeys out the windows when waking in the morning. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen along with the rest of the house is well equipped for large groups. Both Zion and Bryce were beyond our expectations and almost everyone caught one or more fish at the Tropic reservoir. Be sure to stop at La Boulangerie Marie (french bakery) on your way out in Cedar City for coffee and crepes! One of the servers is a great singer and sang a Beauty and the Beast song for our kids.

A very special place!!!!

This cabin is excellent, perfect for large families, located on top of a hill, very private and with unrestricted views. We couldn't have asked for more. Everything was just perfect. Looking forward for our next trip.

Southern Utah vacation

  • 4 of 5

The house is even better then the pictures!! Big, Beautiful and comfortable. The 4K TV in the theater room was amazing. In alignment with other reviews, shades are still needed when coming out of the shower/bathtub. Other items included for improvement: The master bedroom bed needs to be replaced, it sags really bad on one side so I had to put a blanket in between the box spring and mattress to prop it up. The remote is confusing but after a couple of days i was able to figure it out. The wifi is very slow so normally we wouldn't care because we are out exploring most of the day but it would have been nice to stream movies at night when we returned (We couldn't use the great fire pit due to a fire restriction throughout Kane County - Bummer!!). speaking of relaxing after a day of hiking, there is a huge spa in the house that apparently use to be available to guests but is now behind a locked door in full display. Not sure what happened with guests in the past to restrict this use but it was a major bummer to see this beautiful room but not be able to use especially reading past guests in the guest book write how they enjoyed a hot tub after a tough day of hiking. as a suggestion they should Add more board games, books and movies for night time enjoyment especially if you can't use the fire pit. Great proximity to Bryce/red canyon and Zion - we even made the drive to North rim Grand Canyon. Despite the couple of tweaks, I would highly recommend!!

Lovely but needs some TLC

  • 4 of 5

This home is lovely, but needs some TLC in a few areas; i.e., hot tub not working, ponds scummy and neglected, carpet in the bathrooms should be replaced with tile We were disappointed that the hot tub/pool was closed. The view is amazing; not sure what the owners were thinking when they planted pines and quakies that block so much of the breathtaking view. The kitchen/dining area is great for cooking and gathering. The pickle ball court, fire pit, and spacious grounds were a hit with everyone.

Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

Great cabin with great views. Never had time to watch television because so many other things to do! Playing pool, pickle ball in the garage, eating smores at the fire pit.... This area was absolutely beautiful! Went to Zion, Bryce, Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and Escalante all in 1 week. Would definitely recommend, and hope to return in the near future.

Amazing views, restful, close to parks

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time! Absolutely gorgeous cabin with plenty of space. We had pretty much everything we needed. The views from the back of cabin are breath taking with a beautiful gathering space and fire pit. There were a few minor inconveniences like the hot water going out in the kitchen and the entertainment system was not working from the prior tenants but the caretakers were definitely responsive and available. We are extremely happy and satisfied that we chose this location and cabin.
