About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 4 Baths, (Sleeps 8-12) or Option (2B/2b)

Casita Sirena is located in a private residential neighborhood in the Long Bay Hills area of Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands. Originally built as two separate 2 Bed/2Bath units, the house has been renovated with additional stairwells and decks to better function as one 4 bed/4 bath household. The additions include a rooftop ocean view deck, sunrise/moonrise deck, breakfast nook deck, upstairs screened porch area, downstairs open air lounge area all connected by a stairwell that creates easy access between the two floors.

Great for large families or 2 families of close friends, the dual units offer togetherness but with just the right degree of separation for individual independence. The 2-story house is perched on an east facing rise so that it catches constant ocean breezes and is well shaded with trees.

Although not identical, both upstairs and downstairs units have 2 bedrooms with ensuite baths located on either side of the units for optimal privacy. Both units also have an open floor plan that maximizes the kitchen, living and dining space and sprawls out onto the spacious screened porches. The upstairs also features an open deck that is connected to the downstairs by an exterior stairwell. A second stairwell leads to the rooftop ocean view deck.

A garden path leads you to our pool deck complete with covered bar and covered dining area with grill and seating for 12 or more. Nestled along the path to the pool is our garden patio with a table and stone fountain for a romantic picnic setting. Both areas are secluded from view of the house and road for maximum privacy.

Secluded Long Bay Beach is just across the street and accessed by a public footpath. Long Bay Beach is the hotspot for kiteboarding on Provo and also home to Provo Ponies for horseback riding lovers.

**We will also reserve the option of renting either the upstairs or downstairs units. For this option, open dates within a 60 day period of your anticipated arrival will become available for rent. Just call or email us for price quotes on this option.

About The Owner

Casita Sirena is owned by Marsha Pardee, a local marine ecologist and resident of TCI since 1992. Marsha lives on propterty with her partner Richard Green (her research/tech assistant) and her dog (Charlie) and cat (Layla). They are happy to share their local knowledge of the area, whether your interest is in nature, native lore or just nightlife.

The Owner purchased this house in 2005

Why The Owner chose Providenciales

I purchased the property in 1998 while living along the salina section of Long Bay. I fell in love with the secluded neighborhood and beach and decided to invest in this area. Construction of the main house was completed in 2005, the pool and garden area in 2011, and our latest addition, Sirena's Cottage in 2015. We became so enthralled with our new addition, we decided to renovate the main house for large family rentals, which we completed in 2016

What makes this house unique

The thing I cherish most about where I live are my daily walks on Long Bay Beach with my dog, where human encounters are a rare occasion. Second to that is the silence and star-filled nights, which are common occurrences in this sparcely populated section of the island. But 'civilization' is only few minutes away when you need it.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with our family. The relaxing stay at Casita Sirena was just what we needed. Our kids loved the pool and the easy walk to the beach. We loved star gazing and watching the sunrise on the roof deck. We hope to come back soon.

Family friendly with a fantastic beach nearby!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay at this wonderful home! I found it very family friendly, equiped with a pack n play and high chair which made travelling for us much easier not having to pack our own. The nearby beach is fantastic and very secluded, so many conch shells to look at!

Girl's Trip to Turks and Caicos!

  • 5 of 5

Our group of eight women (aka "The Cayman 8") take a trip every two years together. This year, we spent our week in unspoiled Turks and Caicos at the Casita Sirena home on Long Bay. The weather was sunny every day with wind which was refreshing on the beach, but sometimes howling in the night. The beaches were very beautiful. We spent most of our time soaking up the warm sunshine at Taylor Bay and visited Turtle Cove as well. We also took a ½ day boat ride with Caribbean Cruises which showed us just how beautiful the uninhabited areas of the island really are! The island itself has no fast food restaurants, which was nice to see. We ate at Mr. Grouper's to Go, Somewhere Café, Hemingway's and Mango Reef. We also checked out the Thursday Fish Fry and shopped at Grace Bay. We had a great time at The Somerset on Grace Bay Beach Party and danced the night away! We rented an eight passenger van and drove all around the island without any problems. Main roads are paved, but there are also unpaved roads to get you to destination points. Prices are high: $62.99 for a case of Corona or Heineken, (you can get local Turks beer for $35.99 at TCI Water), $4.79 for a gallon of gas, groceries are what you would expect on an island.

Casita Sirena was very accommodating to our group as there were four bedrooms and four bathrooms. We did cook in a few nights to save on food/beverage costs and everything that we needed was there. The home is very beautifully decorated with local island flair. We know that Marsha, the owner, really takes pride in the home that she helped build from the ground up! She was very helpful with any request that we had and is very knowledgeable about the entire island. We all enjoyed meeting Charlie, too!

Comfortable

  • 3 of 5

Our family of 9 stayed at this property occupying both the upstairs and downstairs units.

While the upstairs unit was comfortable, the downstairs unit is not recommended unless budget is of the utmost concern. The downstairs unit was like staying in a basement. It was dark, the water did not drain in the showers/tub and the beds had aerobed mattresses which were so uncomfortable, our 14 year old teenager moved to the futon.

The pool area is the best part of the property. We enjoyed being able to grill and eat outdoors. The property manager was delightful and was available for us with anything we needed. She told us to get the airport at least 2 hours early and she was correct. It took almost and hour and a half to check in and get through security.

Owner's Response: Dear Christine, We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and that our property manager was helpful and attentive. We thank you kindly for your comments, but we would also like to address them. First, please let me clarify that we do not have an Aerobed on property. The lower level has a queen size pillowtop mattress on the north side bedroom and an orthopedic full size mattress on the south side bedroom. In addition, we have a futon couch bed and a studio day bed in the living area which is sometimes used for extra guests. I believe your confusion to that regard may be that one of the mattress pad covers used on the full size bed does say Aerobed. In our cleaning process, we frequently change out our mattress pad covers. Obviously the week you were there, that mattress pad cover was in use. We also have Protect-A-Bed covers on all of our mattresses and pillows. These ensure that our mattresses are allergy free, bed bug proof and waterproof. As for the drainage issue, our sinks, showers and tubs drain into the landscape in an effort to conserve and reuse water in the garden. We frequently clean the drains as they do become clogged with hair and sometimes roots from the plants on the other end. Although we try to check such issues on a regular basis prior to guest arrival, we must rely on our guests to report any issues that may occur while they are staying there. As for the basement feel of the lower level, it is well shaded by our garden and upper decks and also stays a bit cooler than the upper level. We actually only converted to renting the full house in the past year so that we could accommodate larger families. The majority of reviews are for the lower level only as we lived in the upstairs and still do in the summer months. Your comments are the first concern that we have had to this regard, but we value all comments so that we can improve upon our future rentals. We are grateful to all of our guests that may need to report problems they find so that we can rectify them as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience the drainage issue may have caused you. Thank you again for staying with us at Casita Sirena and we hope you have a good year.

Great property and convenient location

  • 5 of 5

Great property with 4 bedrooms available in two separate apartments in one house. Each room had it's own bathroom. Not far from the airport and along the way, you can stop at a supermarket to stock up on supplies.

Pool is great and convenient along with a gas grill.

Beach is a bit of a walk through a unpaved path but once you get there, you will see a secluded area with clear blue water. We took beach chairs and umbrellas that was available in the pool area. We had a great time as the weather was nice and sunny for a few hours.

Grace Bay is not too far away by car. We went there for two days and enjoyed the shops and restaurants.

Marsha was very hospitable and we also met Charlie and Leia!

Strongly recommend to anybody visiting Provo in Turks and Caicos!

Super great!-;) Merveilleux as the French would say!-;)

  • 5 of 5

My son and I stayed at Casita Sirena and again it was a fantastic experience.

First of all, the owners Marsha and Rich are very nice people and very layback just like the ambiance on the island.

The house is very nice and its amenities allow us to do our own cooking away from the expensive island restaurants!-;)

Their house sitting with their own bungalow and the pool gave us a feeling to be in a little vacation village.

The proximity of the beach, only 5 minutes walk from their property, makes it well worth the experience. The deserted beach is almost like having your own private beach! The water is of course spectacular!-;)

Only one warning for the new comers; Marsha and Rich welcome you to their house with an Island Punch of their own making and I suggest you go easy on it as you may find yourself stepping into the wrong rental car as they all look the same after the first glass! Powerful stuff!-;) lol...Marsah and Rich will give you the details of that story as I will keep the names to protect the identities....Have a great vacation!-;)

Great vacation rental

  • 5 of 5

My mom and I stayed at Casita Sirena for the second year in a row. We weren’t looking to spend a fortune staying at a resort and rented a car so that we had a chance to see other parts of the island. Marsha and Richard are great hosts and can help you with any questions or advice on where to go. Since it was just my mom and I, we were able to rent the upstairs part of the house and some other people stayed downstairs. We got to meet the people downstairs but still had privacy when we wanted it. The screened in porch was great and the view from the second floor deck and the rooftop deck were fantastic (both accessible from an exterior stairway). The kitchen was great for cooking if we didn’t feel like going out to eat. We spent our days going out to see the various beaches and then we would come back and relax in the pool for a bit before dinner. The house is a very short walk to Long Bay Beach and most likely you will be escorted there by Marsha and Richard’s dog Charlie or the neighborhood dog Scooby. Both are amazingly friendly. Overall, it was an amazingly relaxing vacation.
