Loved Jazz Fest

  • 4 of 5

Billy was fantastic and had the authentic New Orleans cottage stocked and prepared for us. This is a place you go to when you want to feel like a "local". We loved it way better than a hotel. Esplanade is also very convenient for anything in the city.

Great place, love the lemons!!!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this lovely back cottage of the beautiful home and garden March 21 through the 24th, 2015. The accomodations couldn't have been more quaint and perfect for us. Love, love, loved the kitchen area that was completely stocked with all kinds of basics! Cable and WiFi worked very well. Shower pressure in the bath was awesome, the bed super comfortable in a spacious room. The garden and the lemon tree were amazing. The owners have done a fabulous job and make one feel welcome at every opportunity. The cottage is just steps away from the bus to take you just about anywhere and within walking distance of the horse training track, the Art Museum and City Park (for those of us who like to get out for some excercise). There is also a couple of fabulous restaurants up the street. Can't say enough about our fun time here, we would certainly stay again.

Lovely Cottage with a Jazz Theme

  • 5 of 5

This was my first time in New Orleans. I stayed 6 days in this roomy one bedroom, eat in kitchen, living room and full bath cottage. I was provided enough breakfast items for my full stay, eggs, cinnamon buns, yogurt, fruit, English muffins, jam, coffee, tea, cookies, etc. The house is nicely decorated with photos of the greatest jazz artists, the bed is comfortable, the area is secure, the air conditioning and ceiling fans were a welcome delight from the 90 degree weather and Bob is attentive if you have any questions. It is centrally located with off street parking. Checkout Free Tours on Foot for a great experience and tours of the French Quarter, Garden District and Culinary Delights. I was kept so busy I did not have time to enjoy the lovely garden in the backyard. I highly recommend the Jazz Cottage!

A VRBO favorite!

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed in VRBO rentals around the world and for our first-ever New Orleans trip we chose the Jazz Cottage. Bob and Billye (hosts) were friendly and super-helpful. The bus to the French Quarter is steps away (also a great coffee shop!) and we loved the Esplanade Ridge area to walk around and eat in. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and special touches (like fruit and breakfast fixin's) made this experience outstanding. It was hard to leave!

The stay of a lifetime!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here over VooDoo Fest and had a wonderful time. The property is roughly a 10 minute walk from City Park and not far from the French Quarter. It's a beautiful guest house in a very traditional NOLA style. Bob and Billye were the perfect hosts and were very helpful. They provided a small assortment of fruits and breakfast items that were very useful and convenient. They went above and beyond in my opinion. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We were there for about 5 days and when it was time to leave we were sad to go. I fell in love with the neighborhood and NOLA as a whole. We will definitely be back when time permits and we would absolutely stay here again!

me and my daughter

We were amazed at this jazz eclectic, warm and inviting. Bob met us when we arrived, gave us much needed information regarding transportation, events during our stay and just an overall welcome. We were a few steps away from the busline which we took almost everyday, walked every where and took lots of pictures of this residential area away from the business of the French Quarter but easily accessible. The kitchen was well stocked with breakfast foods, cottage very clean with lots of towels, the bed was very comfortable. We totally enjoyed the private patio, the tropical oasis and felt like we owned the place. Our first night we ate at a local eatery Luizza's which was a short walk, the food was very good, stopped at the small grocery Contesa and stocked up for the week. The City Park is several blocks away which includes the Art Museum. Frenchmen St. was full of local musicians in almost every building. We danced almost every night there and at the Zydeco Festival. Coming home to our private oasis was a great respite. Hope we can come back. Need we say more.

Owner's Response: My wife and I are always pleased to provide useful information to newcomers to the city. For those who do not bring or rent vehicles the city bus and streetcar lines are very handy and inexpensive. We are happy you and daughter had a blast.
