About The Owner

My husband and I have enjoyed this private lake for many years as our children grew. The kids loved jumping off the dock and learning how to kayak and fish. There's always something to do and we never hear those dreadful words "I'm bored" We love the tranquility and can leave the stress behind.

The Owner purchased this house in 2009

Why The Owner chose Connecticut

We chose to buy this home on its own lake because we always loved it here. Once you visit, we know you will come back again and again!

What makes this house unique

This house has it all! Spectacular views, serene, tranquility and water fun in the sun. Minutes to Mohegan Sun Casino, and Mystic.

Beautiful Setting!

  • 5 of 5

This is such a beautiful property! The view is just unbelievable. Waking up in the morning and having a cup of tea on the porch was such a great way for me to start my wedding day! The house itself is very cute with a Brady Bunch vibe. Very kitch and original 1960s. We loved it! My bed was very comfortable and we found everything we needed in the kitchen. Before the visit Kathy was great at communicating with me though unfortunately had to leave town before our arrival. We were left in the capable hands of Lisa and she showed us around the property and explained how everything worked before leaving us to the peace and quiet of this lovely home. I would definitely come back here if I needed another weekend away with a large group. Thanks for everything!

The only thing that would have made it better

  • 5 of 5

When I finally showed up at the rental house after passing the driveway the first time my first thought was this road is not a good sign but then I saw the house. The pictures don't do any justice, beautiful large windows and amazing deck with an even better view of the lake . The only thing we heard while at this secluded house was the birds, and the fish hitting the water. I am defiantly planning on coming to this house again and I would tell anyone to try this place for relaxation fishing sunbathing swimming .

The only thing that I wish was that the small mossy area on the side of the house was a little bigger for some yard games of any kind

The Perfect Lake Retreat

  • 5 of 5

I rented this lake home for my out of town family to stay in while they were here for my wedding. My family absolutely loved their stay at this private retreat. One night, my husband and I went over to the house to spend time with my family, when we arrived we couldn't find anyone in the house, everyone was out on the lake enjoying the canoe and paddleboat. They certainly made themselves at home. Honestly, they still brag about the gorgeous house they stayed at while they were here. While other out of town guests rested their heads at another cookie cutter hotel my family lived like Kings and Queens in this private oasis. This home features all the amenities you will need to make it your perfect home away from home. And the owners, Kathy and Tom, are extremely accommodating and make you feel like family. I highly recommend this lake home for your stay In Connecticut.

Private & Tranquil

This is a great lakefront property, few other homes on the lake, and a good location for activities in the area.

Wonderful private vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We had an absolutely wonderful vacation! Our four kids ages 5 to 9 years old did not get bored once and we never left the home and lake! So many fish were caught! Enjoyed swimming, rowboating and paddle boating too! The lake house had everything! Inside was VERY comfortable with plenty of room. Sitting out on the patio and sunbathing on the swim raft was another favorite! Although not too far from home it felt like we were thousands of miles away... Will definitely be back!

R&A (Southington, CT)

  • 5 of 5

Although the temperature was unusually cool and the sun only popped out for about 10 minutes over our four day stay, we had a great time in this wonderful house. It had the feel of Vermont, New Hampshire, or Maine with only a 35 minute commute from Southington.

I already recommened this house to family and friends and plan to return to it myself this coming year.

Things I loved: The night lighting around the windows, the beautiful view of the lake from the expansive windows, waking up in the master bedroom overlooking the lake, watching my kids have fun catching fish, reading in the room off the master bedroom, traveling to Old Saybrook and surrounding towns.

The owner was very friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home in her home. Thanks for a great time.
