We owned a restaurant and lived in the beautiful U.S. Virgin Islands, yet this is the first time we visited a place where we also wanted to live. After our first visit to Keowee Key, we knew we wanted to return again and again.
Paulette Chassin purchased this condo in 2008
We bought this condo due to the natural beauty and the still pristine environment. Lake Keowee is one of the cleanest lakes on the eastern seaboard. The landscaping on Keowee Key is stunning, yet very natural. The residents and visitors appreciate the peace and quiet. The community is affordable yet offers so many luxurious amenities. The climate is never severe due to the protection of the nearby Blue Ridge mountain range. Lovely every month of the year.
We enjoy the fact we do not have to drive to partake of the amenities. Walking on the Leisure Trail, swimming on the small beach on the lake or at the new North Marina outdoor pool, boat/people watching - all just outside our door. But, when we want dinner at the club or to swim at the Olympic size heated indoor pool, it is just a five minute drive. No traffic, no hassles. Being on the top floor, assures no neighbors overhead. Or, we just love to sit at our large bay window in the living room and stare at the natural beauty outside. Waterfalls, other lakes are less than 30 minutes away.
We needed a place to a stay with our family canine while visiting family in the area. While maybe a bit more than we needed, the condo was perfect and the amenities in the community are very nice. Checking in was no problem and the owners provided a nice book of local attractions and dining options. The Lighthouse is worth a visit for a nice dining experience. We kayaked on Lake Jocassee, rode the Doodle Rail trail from Pickens to Easley and made a lunch visit to Chattooga Belle Farm. We thoroughly enjoyed the area, our accommodations and look forward to a future visit to Lake Keowee. All the folks in the community are very friendly too.
With a beautiful view, convenient location, and all the comforts of home, we have returned to this property many times. It is always immaculate and well kept. The amenities are exactly what we are looking for - beautiful 2 1/2 mile walking trail, marina with boat and kayak rentals, and easy access to the community pool. Whether it's a visit in the fall for a Tigers football game or a few weeks in the summer to enjoy the lake we call this place home.
Our visit was wonderful and the condo is spectacular. It is well appointed, comfortable , and is well stocked with any amenity you might need. We loved the view from the condo and really enjoyed the leisure trail and marina just steps away.We hope to return to this condo for another Keowee Key visit in the near future.
Loved Keowee Key and our accommodations exceeded our expectations. The view of the Lake was wonderful and the owner couldn't have been more accommodating. We really don't require that much except for cleanliness and quiet and we got both. We would definitely return. Thank you PK for everything!
We had the opportunity to spend a 3 day weekend on Lake Keowee as we were on an extended road trip visiting multiple universities with our daughter. Having been to Lake Keowee before, we were looking forward to experiencing a fun filled lake front weekend, and this condo and owner did not let us down. The condo is nicely decorated and very comfortable. We really enjoyed our coffee in the morning overlooking the lake from the balcony. The leisure trail provided a nice path for a morning run and the swimming pool and boat docks were conveniently just a couple of minutes walk away. We had reserved a pontoon boat for the day, but the weather was nasty and we decided to canceled that. Luckily, the next day was nice and we did get a chance to explore the lake. There is golf available on the other side of Keowee Key, but unfortunately, we did not have time for that. It's definitely on the list for our next visit to Lake Keowee.
I rented this condo for 3 nights and we fell in love with the community and the location. This is a great place to relax, yet walk and enjoy the peacefulness it provides. Honestly this is a quiet lake, no boat noise that is disturbing.
The owner is a pro-we checked in very quickly, cleaned up at the end and checked out just as easily. She is easily available my email if there are questions, but the answers will be automated in their response. For example, the first day we inventoried the towels and I emailed the lady that we had 3 bath towels, 4 hand towels and NO dish towels, or washcloths. I did complement her on how comfortable the condo was and that it was well furnished and very comfortable. She emailed my back " I glad you are enjoying your stay".
Other than that, is is very well furnished, up to the paper coffee filters and wine glasses.
We would love the opportunity to rent again. I WILL bring towels however !
National Geographic magazine named our area (2013) one of the 50 best left to visit for natural, pristine beauty which should be visited in one's lifetime. Lake Keowee and Lake Jocassee.
