Overview

About the property

Apartment, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 5)

Not only the location is perfect but also this apartment is unique. The building was built on the walls of an ancient XVI century Abbey. The apartment is a family apt. It is not a modern design but is very convenient. The stone walls and the large ceiling wooden beams bring an incredible charm to this 100m2 duplex. Even the entrance and stairs of the building are made out the ancient stones.

• The entrance opens on the large living room & dining area. It is an open space with 2 large windows that contains a table that sits 6 as well as a large lounge area.

• A wooden stair gets up to the bedroom level. The master bedroom is located on the back of the building. It is very quiet. It offers a queen-size bed and large closets.

• The 2 other bedrooms are not large but could sleep 2 guests each. One has 2 single beds with one sliding under the other. The second has bunks beds. They fit very well for kids or teenagers. Although 2 adults could stay in each bedrooms (check photos), it would be tight. This is why we limit the number of guests to 5.

• On upper level the bathroom next to the master bedroom offers a bathtub with shower and toilets.

• On the lower level the kitchen is located as well as another bathroom offers shower and toilets.

As a summary, we would say that this large apartment is perfect for a large family. It is in a perfect location and convenient for fitting a large party.

Located in a calm and safe street, the apartment is 1 mn walking distance from the Museum of Modern Art (Beaubourg), it is surrounded with middle age dated narrow streets full of restaurants and shops. The apt is located on the 1st floor (European standard) i.e. 2nd floor (US Standard), no elevator. It is located between 3 subway stations Etienne Marcel, Chatelet and Rambuteau which makes it extra convenient.

You will find a mix of cultural attractions, hype bars and night life, fancy clothes stores and traditional architecture. The “Seine” is 3 mn walking distance. In summer, enjoy the “Paris plage” attraction when the Seine banks are transformed in sand beaches and cultural attractions (music, sports , events …).

Located in the center of Paris, you will be at 10 mn of most of the interesting spots, using at will the following subway stations: Chatelet, Hotel de Ville, Les Halles.

Guestbook comments from the manager

The apartment was perfect for our family. We have two parents and two grown children. The young people appreciated each having their own room. The apartment was easily accessible and everything worked. The kitchen was great. The area was perfect for us. Place is not fancy which made us like it even better. It was exactly as advertised if not better. We felt right at home. It was a great bargain and a lovely experience. I would definitely stay there again.

Thanks for being easy to deal with.

Fantastic location and comfortable accommodation.

  • 5 of 5

My family of five loved our time in Paris at this apartment. It’s right in the center of the action, so some street noise and music at night is to be expected. The apartment had everything we needed to have a few meals at home and fantastic boulangerie, restaurants, cafes, crepes, supermarket all within a few moments from the front door. We walked everywhere from this central spot. The Pompidou centre is literally around the corner. The apartment is charming, clean and well appointed. Communication with the owner and manager was pretty easy, though a rental agreement is required in Paris which is a little fiddly. Thank you for a great stay! I’d definitely stay here again.

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay in Paris (of course!) and the Quincampoix apartment was a delightful part of that. We found it clean, well-appointed, large enough for us (four adults), charmingly decorated downstairs and superbly located, a stone throw from Beaubourg. Good memories all-around !

Some good, some not so good

  • 3 of 5

The good:

1) Location. We loved the location. This place is a block from Pompidou, two blocks from Les Halles metro (a major line), and a block from a grocery store (G20). The area is full of restaurants, cafes and bars.

2) it has four beds. We have three teens and they don’t like to share a bed (most places in our price range had only three beds – one being a pull out couch). The two girls were in one room with a bunk bed, our son had a single bed in his own room, and the adults had a double bed.

The not so good.

1) Space is tight. We are two adults, three teens (and Americans). We knew this going in, so not a major factor.

2) Cluttered. This place could use a good purging and a few updates. It seemed smaller and less comfortable because of the clutter and dated furnishings. The kitchen might be well equipped, but it is tight, disorganized and full of left behinds. The aforementioned bunk bed squeaked with every turn and shift. Less might be more in this case, and might make the space feel less confined. The TV is a 12" computer monitor (not an issue for us as we didn't want to watch).

3) Noise. The neighbor across the courtyard played music or TV that we could hear easily in our bedroom. Sometimes he sang – loudly. 10:00 PM - midnight was a favorite time, but he also woke me twice at 3:00 AM. He seemed to go out at midnight or so, which gave us a window to fall asleep. The lucky ones did not wake up when he returned and started up again. As a visitor, I couldn’t bring myself to yell out my window for him to be quiet.

4) Stuffy. In August, windows need to be open in the back courtyard and in the front to get air moving. This let’s in all the street noise. Mostly, the street is quiet and charming, but at times including late, it was loud.

5) Value. If you go out on the town late, or don’t mind earplugs, this may be a really good option for you. The location and four beds were a big plus, but the lack of general comfort and lost sleep at the price we paid per night left us disappointed.

But, hey, it’s Paris and we had a great time.

Lovely apartment in a great location!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this place. It felt like a friend loaned us a place to stay. The furnishing, art on the wall, items around the house, all made it feel like home. The kitchen was well stocked, spices, other food items. Unlike some rentals who remove all food, this place leaves the dry food items, there was even oil and vinegar in the pantry! The location is right next to all the resturants you will ever need in a week, grocery store very near, lots of shopping. I used the print shop on the corner to print my Louvre tickets, my sister had her hair done right around the corner. There are some very unique art galleries right outside the front door. I highly recommend this place.

It is as described

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from our week long trip to Paris. We are from Lilburn, GA. This apartment was perfect for our family of 4 (and frankly we came in late, slept and left early to see the sites). The Metro stations are all close by (we used the Rome2rio app). Great places to eat close by and Starbucks just down the road to start the day with good coffee. The area felt safe to us. We enjoyed our stay in Paris.
