Overview

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, Sleeps 4 Guests in 2 Beds

Listen and view the babbling brook and waterfall just steps away from this cheerful little cabin in the woods. Relax with the birds and a morning coffee on the porch, or enjoy a soothing soak in the hot tub after a day of adventure in the village of Black Mountain or downtown Asheville.

Brett's Falling Waters Cabin can accommodate up to 4 guests. Seasonal rates are $140.00 in January, February and March and $165.00 per night for the remainder of the year. Pet fees for all bookings are $100.00 for one or two pets. Cleaning Fee is $100.00 and includes hot tub sanitizing cleaning and refill. All deposit payments are returned if cancellation is more than 60 days prior to arrival.

Nestled in a corner of 15 wooded acres, Falling Waters has a peaceful, back to nature appeal. The cabin is perfect for honeymooners, couples, or small families who want to enjoy a little solitude and comfort in a private mountain setting, but not too far from restaurants and the nightlife of downtown Asheville. Two bedrooms and one bath, modern eat-in Kitchen. A cozy firebox lends ambiance and warmth to the Living Room with cable TV and free WIFI. The driveway is gravel, level, and accessible by any vehicle. Your pet is also very welcome at Brett's Falling Waters Cabin.

Answers to Frequent Questions: Uber will come here. The driveway is gravel and level, so a regular car may be driven right up to the cabin. The cabin is screened from the nearest neighbor and roadway by trees and hilly terrain. The hot tub is available year round and is located on the front porch. One step Kitchen door entry. The front porch (3 steps) is gated to contain your pet.

Shopping and Restaurants: The nearest grocery store is Ingles Market on Route 70, 4 miles from the cabin. They have a full service pharmacy, movie rentals, extended shopping hours, self-checkout, and accept major credit cards. Nearby restaurants include Okie Dokies Smokehouse, Athens Pizza, Subway and a Dunkin' Donuts. Black Mountain (10 miles) has several wonderful restaurants; we can personally recommend the Black Mountain Bistro, My Father's Pizza and the Dripolator Coffeehouse on State Street.

About Bob and Lorna

We live in Northern Virginia where Bob works for a government contractor and Lorna has recently retired from a career in Information Technology. We love to visit Black Mountain and our little haven in the woods as well as go diving in the Caribbean and visiting Arizona to see our daughters and grandchildren. Our staff, Lee and Holly, have cared for the cabin for more than 12 years and pride themselves on making your stay enjoyable.

Bob and Lorna purchased this cabin in 1990

Why Bob and Lorna chose Swannanoa

The cabin (circa 1932) and surrounding property was purchased for our family vacations. The mountain view includes a working sawmill and horse farm in the Bee Tree Valley, and we also enjoy the sight and sounds of the waterfall and mountain stream at the edge of the property. First offered for vacation rental by Brett (Lorna's father) in 2006, the property and amenities of the cabin are updated on an ongoing basis to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of our guests.

What makes this cabin unique

Brett's Falling Waters Cabin is a perfect place for a weekend getaway. The waterfall can be viewed from the deck and hot tub, and the general tone of the property is quiet, relaxing comfort. The Cabin is just a quick drive from downtown Black Mountain and Asheville. Uber is also available. Enjoy the serenity of the mountains at this quaint little cabin.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This was the perfect getaway. Everything was clean and working well. TV and DVD player was a bonus. Having VS on cable so I could watch the Tour de France was the cherry on top. I could not ask for anything more!

Cute and quaint

  • 4 of 5

Just the right size for a couple or small family. Was very charming and had a beautiful setting. Loved the waterfall and hot tub. Only thing was the bed and furniture we're not comfortable to relax on. That is my personal opinion if you like a firm bed it would be fine. Wish there were some walking trails around as well. Over all we had a great time.

A quaint, little spot

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time on a couples weekend getaway here! We wished we could've stayed a little longer. The sound of the waterfall and view of it and the mountain out front is awesome. A nice spot to enjoy a cup of morning Joe! We got to see the Georgia Bulldogs clench an SEC Championship here!! GO DAWGS!

The location is good too. It's off the beaten path, but not too far out. We were close to hiking- About 30 mins. to the Biltmore. & Uber comes here which was great. We would recommend this place.

We enjoyed this little cozy cabin. The surroundings were so pretty and the house had everything we needed. We enjoyed the hot tub and the waterfall! It was pretty easy to get to Asheville and anywhere else we needed. Would love to come back one day!

Great Location

  • 5 of 5

When we first pulled on to Sparkill Drive I was a little concerned by the river that we needed to cross in order to access the property, especially because we were trailering an 800 lb motorcycle. As it turned out is was nothing but a small brook and we crossed it many times on both the bike and in the car during the next 5 days without incident. In the evening when all was quiet, the sound of that brook was music to our ears...very peaceful and calming! The property is lovely and the home was clean, well equipped and comfortable. We found great places to eat in Black Mountain and played golf one day at their municipal course which boasts a 747 yard par 6, 17th hole! We saw some live music one night at the Salvage Station in Asheville....what a great venue; and rode both directions on the Blue Ridge Parkway. We caught the leaf change at just about the perfect time and the weather was terrific during our stay. We highly recommend this property to others that want to get away from it all but still within reach of civilization. Thanks for sharing your home!

Magical Place

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at the cabin several times. We love everything about it: the waterfall in the front yard, the coziness of the cabin, closeness to Asheville and Bkack Mountain, sense of privacy. Only regret is we don't own a cabin exactly like this one!
