This is a fully furnished and comfortably equipped second home, so you'll only need to bring your swimsuit, beach towel, and a bottle of sunscreen.
The kitchens and bathrooms were renovated in late 2013 with new cabinets, granite countertops, and whirlpool stainless appliances. We also installed new tile throughout the unit, converted to flat ceilings, and added two fresh coats of paint. Our condo has also been upgraded with furniture and electronics to make your stay more comfortable. The living room has a 42” flat-screen TV, upconverting DVD player, and sound system with I-Pod docking station. The bedroom offers a private bathroom, king-sized bed, 32' flat-screen TV and another upconverting DVD player. A queen-sized pull-out sofa and child bunks in the hallway complete our sleeping accommodations which, along with a second full bath, comfortably house a family of six. Wireless internet access is also available if you desire to check in while on your getaway.
The Tradewinds complex has a large, recently renovated, indoor-outdoor swim-through heated pool, plenty of parking, BBQ grills, and on-site security. And with only 107 units, Tradewinds petite size offers more space and less crowding while enjoying the white sands and emerald waters of Orange Beach.
If you venture out, excellent outdoor recreation is abound in the warm gulf waters including shoreline, state pier, and/or chartered boat fishing. Gorgeously manicured, championship golf courses dot the area and are their own feature destination for many. Excellent dining of all sorts is close by as well as retail, specialty, and outlet shopping which make the Alabama Gulf Coast a destination not to be missed.

Great Place to Stay
This is by far one of the nicest units that we have stayed in at in Orange Beach area. We picked this unit because it was centrally located and provided easy access to shopping and restaurants. The owner was easy to work with and the booking process was very straight forward. The unit itself was clean and the décor was exactly as pictured in the photos on VRBO. All of the appliances looked to be relatively new and the large balcony provided us with a beautiful view of the Gulf. We will defiantly being staying here again sometime soon. 5/5 Stars…………
Great location, Beautiful views!
The unit was very clean and nicely updated. Beautiful ocean views and a family friendly indoor/outdoor pool. We look forward to visiting again!
Needs lots of attention!
The location of this unit was great, not so the unit.
Requires attention to the following to make it a five star property.
1. New mattress on bed.
2. New stove or properly fitting rings and burners pots don't sit square.
3. Requires a real good cleaning, grungy. Cupboards need wash down, baseboards under furniture haven't been cleaned in ages.
4. Screen slider to patio needs to be replaced, rollers worn out won't stay in track.
5. Thoughtful for owner to provide beach chairs but what is there is corroded and broken.
6. Front door needs weather stripping and extremely heavy hard to open and slams shut.
7. No storage cupboards for people staying for extended times.
8. Kitchen utensils need to be gone through, lots broken, plastic dishes cracked. More duplicates that take up storage place.
9. Washer needs attention, grinding sound don't think it is agitating well.
Would recommend owner stay in unit for a month to get a grasp of the units condition. Don't know how it can be advertised as been updated and renovated. Think the flooring is new and the granite countertop as well. All the furnishings are tired. Not a comfortable place to sit. High table and chairs not for the older generation.
Hope owner finds this critic helpful, not meant to be disrespectful in the least. Just saying it like it is, as people who stayed seven weeks in this unit
Cute decor, but needs maintenance
Upon entering the condo (through an extremely heavy door), I see the dishwasher door open & the dishwasher sitting crooked in its space, which tells me it wasn't properly installed, all the stove eyes were out of whack...which made me leery of using either appliance. In light of the fact that we had plans to have friends join us for Christmas Dinner, this was bad news. We also discover that very few of the electrical outlets will even hold a cord...they just fall out! The master bath shower was leaking as well. Early Christmas Eve morning, we discovered both toilets were messed up, one spewing water all in the bathroom floor! I called the owner to inform him about the toilet issues & he said he would try to reach someone as soon as possible, but that it was Christmas Eve & it may take a while. We asked if they had another condo we could move into as we had to be in Mobile for a family dinner by 1pm. They said they didn't have anything "available". One of the owners did remind us that "if it was an emergency we could use the public restroom at the pool(in other words, go down 5 floors & out into the cold to get to a restroom!). I had to contact the owners multiple times to make sure they were following through with a plumber who finally showed up after 11am. He fixed one toilet, then had to go all the way into Foley for a part for the other one which took another 1 1/2 hours! This cut deeply into our time to spend with family for Christmas. The stress & anxiety of having to deal with these issues pretty much ruined our Christmas vacation so much so that we left a day early. All this could have been avoided if they had someone perform "routine maintenance checks" on their condo. I notified one of the owners that morning that we had left early & I suggested a partial refund might be in order(at least for the last day). He thanked me & said he was "in the process of having these things that I pointed out addressed immediately", & that he "did his due diligence in resolving the problem as quickly as possible" but "as a result of any inconvenience we may have experienced" he would offer us a free night on our next visit (during the winter, of course)?? I can only hope that they have resolved these issues so that their future renters don't have the problems we did.
As always, we strive to offer a great condo at an even better value, so we are sorry that our unit did not meet this guests expectations.
When the guest called at 5 AM on Christmas Eve to say the hall toilet had malfunctioned, we informed the guest that we would have a plumber out as soon as possible, but did warn that a Holiday Sunday morning would narrow our possibilities. We made certain that the water had been turned off and that a 'leak' was not an issue. To be clear, the master toilet was fully functional during the entire visit, but the guest also complained that the bowl wasn't filling quickly enough, and wanted it addressed. As we are attempting to contact a plumber, the guest repeatedly called(within 5-10 minutes of the first call) to demand that we were addressing the issue. Eventually, we explained that we could not contact a plumber if we were speaking to the guest. The only plumber we eventually found(around 5:45 AM) arrived a few minutes after 10 AM, as he had other service calls before ours.
The other mentioned issues, including the 'crooked' dishwasher, stove eyes, leaking shower faucet, and dilated electrical outlets were not mentioned until this review, but have been addressed as needed. The dishwasher has been resecured(had dislodged from the bracket), the shower head replaced, and two outlets exchanged, but the stove eyes were not malpositioned. We have regular maintenance and always address issues quickly when they arise, but we can not foresee all dysfunction. We had a plumbing service in the unit roughly 3-4 weeks before this guests arrival to service the hall toilet bowl, which had been continually running, and to check other plumbing sources. We never want a guest to have issues and do not feel the maintenance of the condo is neglected.
Lastly, we did offer the guest a free night on a future visit when she choose to depart early. The guest essentially attempted to extort us, threatening a 'bad review' if we did not provide a refund. Perhaps we are not very bright, but we will not be bullied or extorted, and the review system does provide a pathway for these type things to occur.
Again, it is our wish that every guest have a great experience and leave our properties feeling positive about their time in our unit. We are truly sorry that this guests visit was not at our standard.
Great view and location. Comfortably furnished. Close to shopping, restaurants, entertainment. Beautiful sunrises from balcony.
Very nice condo
Would stay here again, much like any other condo we have stayed in at orange beach but less expensive. Probably could use a new mattress
