Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Catherine, belated Nic and I wanted to thank you and your husband for the wonderful stay in your apartment at 61 rue de Lyon. We could not have found a better place which was not only furnished with great taste and included all possible luxuries and conveniences but its location is absolutely perfect to enjoy Paris to its fullest. Nic, my grandson, figured out the Metro system to perfection and we saw and experienced Paris as much as one could in our 10 day stay. We became regulars at the Aligre market but where unable to taste all its cheeses, the stop at the bakery on the way became a must. You might have noticed the market peonies we left in the apartment, we could not resist them.Thank you for providing so many great Paris tips in your information folder.

Grandson Nic fell in love with Paris and I rediscovered it again through his eyes and you provided the perfect base from which we had an unforgettable stay.

With warm thanks,

Well connected location, stocked kitchen and very nice hosts.

  • 5 of 5

Host was very communicative with very detailed instructions for arrival and check in. We were received with homemade strawberry jam (the best I have had, actually) and wine as well as some juice and milk in the fridge. The kitchen was very well stocked including basics for cooking and a variety of tea and coffee. The space is roomy and cozy. Also many books with recs for places to visit and see and a detailed instruction book to work all the appliances. The location is not necessarily close to the all the big landmarks but is very well connected by the Bastille metro station and Gare de Lyon train station. The metro system is very easy to use and goes everywhere. The area is nice to walk around with plenty is restaurants, shops and grocery stores. The environment makes you feel like a local. The only minus of the property is that the street noise is bothersome at night despite the property being on the 5th floor (with elevator). Light sleepers should take earplugs. Even though this is not the ownner's fault, this may improve with investing in better AC system and insulating windows. However, for me, this was a small detail and did not detract from overall positive experience. Highly recommended!

Excellent choice

  • 5 of 5

The apartment was great, it had everything one might need during a visit. Kitchen was very well equipped and we were able to cook many lovely meals from a scratch. The location is excellent, very short distance from Bastille metro station and restaurants and shops. We loved getting home made jam from Thierry - it was lovely. We would definitely recommend this apartment and will come back again next time we're in Paris!

Fantastic Location, Local Feel.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for the entire month of March, 2017. It was a perfect spot for exploring the city. The neighborhood has everything one needs within a ten-minute walk--groceries, bakeries, fantastic fresh food markets (2 big ones), restaurants, shops, cafes, night life. The Bastille Meteo stop is five minutes away for access to any neighborhood. The kitchen is well-equipped and stocked with basics (including a Nespresso). You can easily live like a local here, shopping at the fresh markets and cooking it when you get "home." The owners are helpful, friendly, and highly responsive to all needs. The apartment has an excellent reference book explaining all appliances and giving recommendations. WiFi works well. Roomy living spaces. Some night noise from the street but that is just urban living. The location and comfort of the apartment outweighed the occasional noise.

3inParis

We arrived late due to a delayed flight, yet this wasn't a problem and a neighbour let us in. The location was perfect and near to a market, Marais, walkable to the centre of Paris and close to transport options. We discovered two excellent bakeries nearby, with the most delicious pastries. The apartment was quite noisy at night, although it was close to Christmas, so possibly the time of year for celebration! Catherine and Thierry came to collect the rent and brought us croissants! They communicated to ensure we were ok and provided good suggestions of nearby eateries. There was also a bottle of wine and marmalade provided. The apartment was spacious, clean, well-equipped and the hosts friendly and generous. I would highly recommend it and would certainly stay there on my return to Paris.

Clean and comfortable with all the amenities!

  • 5 of 5

We once again enjoyed our stay in Catherine's apartment. It is well located with easy access to the train station, metro line and close to many interesting places within walking distance. The apartment has everything you would need; full kitchen with washer and dryer and dishwasher! The kitchen is well outfitted to cook with the many wonderful ingredients found at the nearby market. The bed is comfortable and the apartment has many windows to let in the light and fresh air- there is also an air conditioner available! We were welcomed with wine and roses and our favourite coffee. It felt a bit like coming home. Thanks once again for the wonderful accommodations in a wonderful city!

Fabulous Apartment.

  • 5 of 5

We (family of 3) had a wonderful 3 night stay in Catherine and Thierry's apartment. The facilities were excellent and the location was ideal. A supermarket was located two shops from the front door and there were plenty of restaurants in the area. The Metro is a couple of minutes walk away. Thierry met us at the apartment and showed us around. Catherine and Thierry have created a book which provides plenty of information on the apartment's facilities as well as recommendations and directions to places of interest, etc. Catherine responded to all my emails and even posted my husband's watch (he had left it behind) to our next accommodation in France. I highly recommend this apartment.
