About the Property
Cottage, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-5)
Kendall Farm has been in our family for five generations. We have a large beautiful organic vegetable and flower garden, raspberry and wild Maine blueberry patches and an apple orchard available for visitors in season. The 200-year old cape homestead and one of the largest original barns in Washington county are important structures on our farm. The Bugbees and Goldings built cemeteries on the property that date back to the early 1800s and are a treat for individuals interested in genealogy. We are honoring this legacy by sharing our cottages and home with you in a way that preserves this beautiful environment and our family history.
Our location offers easy day trips to Cobscook State Park, Moosehorn National Wildlife Reserve, St. Andrews-by-the-Sea and Campobello, Canada, Eastport, Lubec and Sipayik, Passamaquoddy Indian reservation. We are also centrally located to three golf courses and a rich tour of local fine artisans and an abundance of other natural wonders of the area including the highest tides in the world and the Old Sow, the largest whirlpool in the Western Hemisphere.
Or you can simply swim in the lake, swing in a hammock, read a book and listen to the loons and watch for soaring bald eagles while you relax, refresh and rejoice.

Our area offers some of the best whale watching trips on the east coast of the USA. We also have lots of wildlife to see including seals, loons, porcupines, moose, deer, foxes, and black bears. We also have terrific fishing for salmon, white perch, brook trout and large and small mouth bass in our lake plus deep sea fishing just 10 minutes from your cottage.
The area is rich with wonderful lighthouses and you can spend a lifetime hiking the stunning trails in our area or canoeing the waterways.
There are two letterboxes on-site at Kendall Farm and several at area parks and tree farms, blueberry, raspberry, and apple picking. There are ferries to and from Canada, a brand new Biological Research Station and touch tank in St. Andrews, NB, Canada, environmental and outdoor community learning center that offer fun workshops for adults and children, gourmet cooking classes 5 minutes away and just 5 miles away the Sipayik Passamaquoddy Indian reservation. We also have local and international 18-hole golf courses and great guides for a kayaking adventure on one of our famous rivers like the Dennys River, a guided paddle on a lake or an adventure on the bay.
Just five minutes from your cottage is a great shop to purchase local foods, meats, cheeses, wines, and gifts to take back home with you. The Red Sleigh ... Gallery, Gifts & a Gourmet Farmers’ Market under one roof! Conveniently located on Coastal Route 1 between Calais and Eastport, this historic building is now home to nearly 100 artists, artisans, jewelers, farmers, food producers and bakers--all from wonderful Washington County. The Red Sleigh (whose 200 year-old building was formerly a post office, a general store, and antique shop) is proud to be a green business. We recycle bags, jewelry boxes, and packing materials. We reuse antiques, jars, wooden boxes and other materials for our displays, compost, and use a composting toilet. Monthly Open House celebrations promote our artists and food producers and showcase many of the area’s talented musicians. We also offer a selection of wines, regularly scheduled wine tastings, free WiFi, ticket sales for Eastport Art Center performances and a local events board to all of the cool events in the area.

About the owner: Georgiana Kendall, is a 5th generation Kendall at Kendall Farm living in her family’s 200-year old homestead with her friendly cat Seamus and usually has a few other critters for the summer. She graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Mount Allison University in New Brunswick in 1990 and a M.S. in Adult Education from the University of Southern Maine in Portland, Maine in 1997. Following graduate school she joined the Peace Corps and served the Tsonga people of South Africa as a school and community resource volunteer. She has resided on her family's farmstead for over a decade after many years of travel. She now stays close to home to honor the farm, land, lake, friends and family.
Why the Owner Chose Perry, ME, USA:
As the 5th generation Kendall on Kendall Farm, Perry is my home. I spent summers as a child with my parents, family and friends frolicking in the riley waters of Boyden Lake. I enjoyed swimming, frogging, fishing, snorkeling, jumping off the raft, swinging in our hammock, and running up the hill to help my grandmother weed and pick vegetables out of her garden followed by Gram's delicious homemade doughnuts. We spent evenings playing Scrabble and card games. We spent quality time together just enjoying each other as I hope our guests will do with their family and friends.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
We call Perry, Perrydise and it feels like it every time I drive down the maple lined driveway. I look out across the lake and watch the sun transform the sky with bold colors of pink, orange, yellow, and purple and I know I really am in a place of peace and love and beauty. My favorite place on earth is here at Kendall Farm after so many years traveling the world. My family and I enjoy hosting people who appreciate what we are doing to preserve the history of our land and ancestors while treading lightly on our environment, the lake and the land.
