Park Place is a classic riverfront home, spacious and sunny. This home is ideal for families or groups of friends getting away to spend lazy, fun-filled days in our laid-back river community. This is the perfect home base to explore the amazing attractions our area offers.

At Park Place, indoors and outdoors merge. Large windows from the living areas look out over the wraparound deck and the panoramic river views beyond. There is plenty of space for lounging and dining, and a large propane barbecue. Stairs from the deck lead down to the riverfront lawn, which has a fire pit and stairs to a seasonal dock and 2 single kayaks (available mid-June to mid-September). Please note, the riverfront lawn at Park Place runs into that of its neighbor and the lower lawn decking and fire pit area spans the length of both properties.

The interior of Park Place, located entirely on the upper level, has an attractive open living space with a fully remodeled kitchen, comfortable and stylish couches, and a large dining area that can be set to accommodate 8 people. Doors off the living room and dining room lead to 2 bedrooms both with comfortable Queen beds) and 2 full bathrooms. From the kitchen, you'll find 2 sleeping spaces (no one has to sleep in the main living room) and the master suite. The first sleeping space has a Double bed and the second sleeping space has a Double futon. The master suite contains a bedroom and bathroom with a tub/shower combination. The suite also contains a living room with a Double sofa bed, a half bath, small kitchenette with a mini-fridge, sink and latte maker, as well as a wood stove and lovely French doors leading to the deck.

Park Place features a keyless entry system - enjoy the convenience of an express check-in directly at the home!

Know Before You Book:

Maximum Occupancy and Quiet Hours: The maximum occupancy at Park Place is 8. Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. Outdoor amplified sound is prohibited at any time.

Parking: On-site parking is permitted for a maximum of 4 vehicles. RVs, trailers and campers are prohibited, per the Sonoma County Vacation Rental Ordinance.

Bed Sizes: There are 5 sleeping areas total. Master Bedroom: Queen bed; Second bedroom: Queen bed; Third bedroom: Queen bed; Sleeping area 1 (no door): Queen Bed.

Heat Source: Central heat; 2 wood stoves (firewood not provided)

Location: Riverfront, walk to the town of Monte Rio.

Neighbor: One of the charms of Park Place is the expansive riverfront lawn. Part of this lower yard area, including the fire pit, is shared with the neighbors next door. There is joint access to parts of the expansive lawn from both properties and there is no fencing between the two.

Fencing: There is a high fence along the road side of the property, which provides privacy and serves as a barrier and deterrent for well-behaved dogs. There is no fencing on the riverfront lawn or between Park Place and the next door neighbors to the right. If your dog loves to wander, please consider a long leash or guide wire. We love dogs and are dog friendly but not dog proofed.

About Russian River Vacation Homes

We are Russian River Vacation Homes, a part of D&G Equity Management, Inc., a family owned and locally owned/operated property management company.

Our Story:

In 1980, D&G founders and owners Michael and Patty saw a need in the area for habitable, affordable housing. At that time, many of the little cabins along the Russian River, originally built as summer cabins, were unsuitable for year-round occupancy. D&G assisted property owners with fixing up and renting their cabins. As the largest property management company in western Sonoma County, D&G Equity Management continues to be a staple in the Russian River community.

Russian River Vacation Homes is an off-shoot of D&G. One fine day in 1985, Michael's client, Bob, asked "Hey Mike, can you rent my cabin out just for the week or weekend instead of by the month?" Michael said "Sure!" and Russian River Vacation Homes was born. As renting vacation rentals became more popular, Russian River Vacation Homes grew into a full-time business with its own office. Today, Russian River Vacation Homes professionally manages over 60 high-quality vacation rentals.

Welcome to vacation wonderland! Monte Rio has a great dog friendly beach along the Russian River that has seasonal canoe rentals. Visit The Rio, an historic quonset hut movie theater on the Russian River, including a cafe with great food and beer, and a sunny outdoor market on summer weekends.

Monte Rio is home to the beautiful Northwood Golf Club, a 9 hold course amongst the redwoods designed by Alister MacKenzie, of Augusta fame. There is also a popular bar and restaurant on the golf course property.

Monte Rio is just a short drive to the many Russian River Valley Wineries to the east, and is also a short drive west to the ocean where you’ll find scenic beaches and hiking trails.

This is a great launch point for your outdoor and wine tasting adventures!

I came to the house with 10 women who I'd never met (except for one) to have a ladies weekend before my best friend's wedding (the one I knew). The house was beautiful and quirky and had all the comforts we needed - and nothing over the top, so we could just relax and enjoy the region and each others' company. Kick Back in River Time

It is good to know that of the 12 sleeping spaces only 6 are in private bedrooms. Two are on a double futon couch located in a wide hallway adjacent to the kitchen; 3 are in bunk beds -- twin upper, double lower (with a futon not a mattress. Our 60-yr old male guest stated was totally uncomfortable.); and 2 are on a sofabed in a room adjacent to a bedroom. These alternative spaces provide a modicum of privacy but can't be considered private since others have to pass through them to get to the kitchen and general living space. The arrangement would be ideal for three couples with children or teenagers who can sleep anywhere :). For a group of adults, the lack of privacy was a bit awkward but we all adapted. On warmer days, the dining area heats up and air doesn't circulate well in this space -- a fan would help. Maintenance is dicy; Bathrooms are clean but somehow don't feel fresh. The middle bathroom shower stall has a band of black mold about 1-2 inches wide all along the shower pan seam. Two wind socks hanging outside the west bedroom are moldy. The mattress pad on the lower bunk had a blood stain. The washing machine is probably 20 years old and so loud we had to shout to speak over the jetliner sounds during spin cycles. We sensed that the owners are trying the best they can and possibly beginners in the fine art of inn keeping. We've stayed all over the country in moderately priced rentals by owner that were impeccable. Though Park Place has a ways to go to reach that standard, we kicked back and enjoyed our 2 weeks on this beautiful river setting.

Old friends week

I invited 5 of my best gal pals to join me for a week in the redwoods. This home was a perfect match for our needs. Everyone had their own space, yet we all agreed the best part was talking in the evening as the fire glowed. We even found two coffee makers so we had decaf and regular brewing in the mornings! Very comfortable, clean, centrally located yet in a neighborhood setting.

Great sunny location

Stayed here a few months ago, so a little belated in my review. The house is ideally located in Monte Rio. It's walking distance to several restaurants, bars and convenience stores with a beautiful view of the river. I stayed in what's listed as the 2nd bedroom in the pictures and it was spacious and clean with nice new linens. We had a large group of friends and everyone fit comfortably. The kitchen was stocked with all cooking utensils we needed and there's laundry available as well. Overall, I would recommend this property as it had a great lounging deck, nice flat yard space for games and close location to town. We ate at Don's dogs which was walking distance from the house and it was delicious! Another recommendation as well. :)

Gorgeous and relaxing

The cottage is absolutely beautiful and completely relaxing... so much so that all of our grand plans to go hiking and wine tasting and horseback riding went completely by the wayside. We couldn't leave the cottage and ended up spending all day enjoying the fabulous wrap around deck, playing bocce on the lawn, hanging out in the river, and cooking great meals in the very well appointed kitchen. It was the perfect weekend with good friends and the comfort of the cottage was the perfect setting. (Oh and the bed in the master bedroom was heaven!)

    DAMAGE PROTECTION: Guests choose between a $49 Vacation Rental Damage Protection Fee and a $1000 Refundable Security Deposit. A $30 Processing Fee is added to reservations with the Security Deposit option. The Vacation Rental Damage Protection is strongly recommended and is the option most guests choose. It covers up to $3000 of accidental damage and can be used for many common 'damages,' such as an excessively dirty hot tub or pet-related damage.

    CHOOSING OPTIONAL FEES: If you book through VRBO/HomeAway, both Damage Protection options and the Optional Travel Insurance show in the rates. State your preference in the comments section of the reservation and we will adjust the rates before processing payment. If no preference is stated, we will contact you prior to processing payment.
