Cabin, 4 BR, 3.5 BA, 3 levels with decks and yr round views (Sleeps 8)
Built in 2009, this 2167 square feet, 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath log home with 2 covered decks, a spacious screened porch and a two-car garage is located near Brevard/Rosman, NC, in Transylvania County, NC the “Land of Waterfalls”. If you want to enjoy gourmet dining, shopping, tubing, rafting, fly-fishing, kayaking, hiking, biking, golf, tennis, horseback riding, visiting beautiful Hendersonville and Asheville, NC and the Biltmore House and/or sightseeing along the famous Blue Ridge Parkway or Pisgah National Forest, most are within a 30-minute drive of our wonderful Cabin in the Trees and all are within about an hour’s drive.
If you just want to hang out and don’t want to get back in the car. No problem - There’s no better place to hang. Sit and relax in one of the locally crafted rocking chairs on the porch or pull up a recliner and lounge on the back deck from sun up to sun down breaking only for snacks, lunch and a nap by the fire. Year Round Views are plentiful with Hogback Mountain (aka Toxaway Lake Mountain) on the western horizon, always fun to watch as weather changes and it disappears and reappears through the mist following a dramatic summer shower. Brilliant sunsets after a storm can be breath-taking. Every sunset is different. Listening to the summer insect orchestra is entertaining as well.
Or load your backpack with snacks and your favorite beverage, walk out the front door and hike for about an hour to the top of Joshua Summit. Look for deer and locally famous “White Squirrels” along the way. The panoramic view of the Brevard area and surrounding mountains is breathtaking.
A short hike from Joshua Road and down Line Runner Ridge Road, turn right on Highway 178 (aka Pickens Highway) for 1/2 mile will lead you to Mountain View and one of Transylvania’s most arresting waterfalls. It is privately-owned but the owners welcome guests. In case anyone’s home, you might want to let them know you’re there.
If you’re into tubing, canoeing, rafting, kayaking, camping and/or fly fishing, we’ve found the friendly people at Headwaters Outfitters to be very helpful. They offer fly fishing lessons and guided floats (or up) the French Broad River (which flows the wrong way.) Their friendly staff has always been glad to answer any questions about the area you might have. They can even take you on a float to Brevard or Asheville.
For a sample menu for dining in Brevard (about a 20 minute-drive), we recommend you visit the Hobknob Restaurant on West Main Street, the Square Root, and/or the Falls Landing Restaurant. We have had good meals at all of them. Dress is informal.
After your meal, browse the streets of Brevard. You will find unique shops of almost any kind imaginable. Art Galleries are all over for some of the finest pottery and local artwork.
For the not so young but still young at heart with maybe a grandchild or two, be sure to browse OP Taylors Toy Store on the corner of Broad and Main Streets.

Anna McFall purchased this Cabin in 2009
Why Anna McFall chose Eastatoe
For the outdoor enthusiast, the Rosman / Brevard area offers so much to do and see: Hiking, Biking - some of the best mountain and road biking around, Fly Fishing (some of the best in the country), Climbing, Swimming, Tubing, Rafting, Kayaking, Repelling, Trail Running, wildlife viewing. Shopping, Dining, conveniently located near the Blue Ridge Parkway, Lake Toxaway, Pisgah National Forest, Dupont State Forest. Music Festivals....Art Galleries, What more could you ask for.
What makes this Cabin unique
We always venture into Brevard for shopping or dining. Great meals at Hobknob, The Square Root, Marco Trattoria. Menus and Info are all in our Cabin Guide/Book. We usually try to check out a waterfall and a hike. They are plentiful in the area. Also, one of the owners is an avid triathlete. He can give tips on the road biking, mountain biking and trail running in the area. We have road biking maps available at the cabin as well.

Perfect mountain vacation!
Anna's house was perfect for our gathering of two families (four adults and three teenagers). I loved the decorations and it is spacious and well equipped. We had two days of hiking to see local falls and it was great to be able to have our dog with us. Rainbow Falls was really nice (110 foot falls very impressive). The 4 mile hike is strenuous – with a significant elevation change (uphill coming back), but it was worth it for us. We also did Bridal Veil Falls – another 4 mile hike, but not much elevation change. A fun time and some good memories.
Great house! Wonderful views.
Very nice cabin with great views, comfortable beds and nice location. We were there for a girls weekend. The seven of us had plenty of room, and the house was well outfitted. The views were great and the non paved road in was in great shape. Loved the garage access, screened porch, decks and fenced yard. Great house if you have a pet too. It has a fenced yard and decking, so dogs are safe. We did not have pets, but would go back again for that reason. We were within 25 minutes of Brevard, several waterfalls, and Pretty Place.
A Perfect Mountain Getaway in the Perfect Location!
I cannot say enough good things about this cabin! It was truly perfect for our women's getaway, and after staying there I can say it was also perfect for families with children of any age. The two huge decks provided beautiful views, plenty of seating, and even a picnic table where we enjoyed breakfast together. The cabin is large enough to provide plenty of space for 8 people, but snug enough to feel cozy. Reclining with a book in front of the gas fireplace was such a treat, and the second living area downstairs was perfect for those who wanted some time to themselves. We enjoyed that the bedrooms were spread across three different levels so each person could choose what bedroom best suited their needs. Honestly, we loved the cabin so much that we could barely pry ourselves away from it to take a super short drive down to the main road to visit the absolutely breathtaking waterfall 1/4 mile down the road. It's on private property, but the owners allow guests to visit and even have marked waterfall parking. The waterfall is easy to walk up to, beautiful, and empties into a babbling brook that is easy to wade around in. They even have a rope bridge that crosses the creek to a treehouse from which you can view the falls as well. It made for such an unexpectedly lovely experience. It's hard to believe these falls aren't a major landmark! If you are wanting to look it up, it's called Eastatoe Falls. We are already planning another getaway in the Fall to this cabin, as it was just the perfect spot to enjoy a mountain getaway! Up in the mountains, but not too far from civilization, very near Brevard for shopping and restaurants, close to lots of hiking, parks, and waterfalls, but I'm telling you now - your outing plans might turn into let's-stay-at-the-cabin plans once you see how great this cabin really is! ;)
This cabin was perfect! A little scary getting through those mountain roads but well worth it.
My children treated me to this awesome family adventure for my 60th birthday. It couldn't have been more perfect. We played family games, saw beautiful waterfalls. Just had truly wonderful family time. BEST BIRTHDAY EVER.
And thank you so much McFall family, we all loved your place, it's amazing.
Wonderful remote cabin
Our extended family (5 adults, 2 kids) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cabin over Christmas. It was exactly as shown in the pictures, and exceptionally well appointed, especially for families with children. I can imagine it would be even more amazing in the warmer months when you could take full advantage of the porches outside and the nearby activities.
Amazing family retreat
Our family stayed for Thanksgiving and had a great time! Everyone told me how perfect the cabin was and that they would love to come back. Nice and secluded, like we wanted but a short 10 min drive to Rosman IGA that surprisingly had a large selection!
We did the hike to Eastatoe falls one day. Easy hike but WHEW that hill on the way back up!
Drive 1 hour to Biltmore had a great long day
But honestly one,of the best parts about the area was Gorges State Park. Honestly best I'vee ever been too! Amazing trails and overlooks.
Cabin was well equipped, and super comfortable. We made such great memories and will absolutely be back
Some of the best fly fishing in the country is located just minutes from the cabin. Sapphire Valley for local snow tubing / snow skiing / boarding available - 30 minute drive towards Cashiers. Waterfalls surround the whole area. They are everywhere. We are just a short 3 minute drive to the closest one.
