Okay, roomy & very clean for an older home

  • 4 of 5

Clean, roomy, wifi was problematic until 4 days later when the owner realized they did not have wifi as described. No a/c, freezer on refrigerator went out on 4th day? View was not as depicted in ad, the trees have grown to block out most of the water view. Water bugs in downstairs bath. Rental price does not match with what we expected.

Owner's Response: We're sorry the house did not meet your anticipation, we only wish you had made us aware of the problems right away so they could have been resolved sooner. The WiFi router and refrigerator have both been replaced.

Everything I wanted for my Maine vacation!

  • 5 of 5

I've been vacationing in Maine for years and one of my favorite places along the MidCoast is Owls Head, so I was thrilled to find this house for rent. It's only a few minutes drive from Rockland and Thomaston but you feel like you're far away from everything. It's quiet and peaceful with only the sound of the fishing boats coming and going. The home itself is charming and spacious with a great view across the harbor and Penobscot Bay to Vinalhaven. The owners are lovely people and make you feel very welcome. If you want a genuine experience in Maine this is for you!

Veery nice

  • 5 of 5

House overlooks Owls Head Harbor - very nice view. The hosts were very gracious and accomodating. Unfortunately, we arrived at the start of a four day Nor'easter. But it was still a very enjoyable stay. If I can ever get back up there, I would enjoy another stay at this location.

All the Colors Of the Wind!

  • 5 of 5

The weather was great. Our favorite adventures was watching all the colors over the harbor when the sun set. We just loved this charming house on the hill!

Lobster heaven

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful vacation home. Very clean and well maintained. The kitchen contained everything needed for easily preparing meals. While there were only two of us, the house would be great for a family. It is an easy drive to great restaurants but the lobsters prepared on the wharf were the best we had while in Maine. Not too far from Acadia National Park and lots of small towns in the surrounding area provide the real Maine experience. We would definitely like to visit this area again and hope the house is available for our use.BTW, Eleanor is a superb hostess!
