Enjoy a vacation at Cape Cod's sailing mecca. From the south-facing private deck, take in the view of 60 moored sailboats, the majority being custom-built catboats, ranging from boats built in the 1800s to brand new Arey's Pond catboats. Bring your own boat or rent one of ours to put on your private mooring in the pond right off your deck.
The home is located at the edge of a traditional boat yard where boats are still built in the old-fashioned way. The layout provides plenty of privacy from the working boat yard. The house is a well-maintained, recently painted and upgraded, 1950's Cape-style cottage. It's southern facing views towards the pond and a private deck give it a bright and cheerful ambiance.
Take a walk or bicycle to Kent's Point on Pleasant Bay for breathtaking views, or take a short run over to Pilgrim Lake for a freshwater swim. To access the bay by water, navigate your boat from the pond down the Namequoit River for an excursion into Pleasant Bay. From there, you can go to the ocean beach to enjoy the surf, or to an island for a picnic and a swim.
There is a festive seasonal feel to the boat yard during the day as the boats come and go from the pond on their way to or from Pleasant Bay, but by early evening, the pond is all yours for a relaxing sail in a Wooden Beetle Cat, with a bottle of wine, to watch the sun go down.
