About the Property
Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 1 Bathroom, (Sleeps 4)
Discover world class trout fishing on the Gallatin River where “A River Runs Through It” was filmed. Explore miles and miles of hiking and mountain biking trails in the Gallatin National Forest, hike to the nearby calcite mine, and see tons of wildlife. It's a hop, skip and jump from the northwest corner of Yellowstone Park, and Big Sky Resort (located 11 miles south of the turnoff to Big Sky) with great skiing, shops and restaurants. Relax on the porch and listen to the water run past, or build a fire and tell stories about the giant fish that got away.
There is a queen bed, as well as two twin mattresses in the loft. This is a rustic setting where drinking water is furnished by you, the guest. There is plenty of hot water for showers and washing but we recommend bringing drinking water.
The cabin is located 35 miles north of the town of West Yellowstone, and 55 miles south of Bozeman.

The cabin is located on a private road behind and across the river from the Cinnamon Lodge. It is about 38 miles (45 minutes) from West Yellowstone, 11 miles to Big Sky, and 45 miles (a little over an hour) to Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport. The recreational activities available are too numerous to list here, but the most popular ones would be fly fishing, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, and exploring Yellowstone National Park, not to mention casual and fine dining options within 20 minutes away. The University town of Bozeman (population 40,000) is also an hour's drive away, with a simultaneously quaint and bustling downtown.
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: I moved here from Los Angeles in 1996, to get out of the big city to a place where I could enjoy the outdoors and raise my kids.
Why the Owner Chose Gallatin Gateway, MT, USA:
I loved the location and my kids do too. There's nothing like being a stone's throw from the river!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
This is a quiet setting with the National forest out the back. It is accessed by a bridge just 100 yards from the property and across the river is the Cinnamon Lodge which has a bar and restaurant which excellent margaritas and very good Mexican food.
