About Phil Libby

I have lived in Maine for over 30 years and have never found a property quite like this one. I fell in love with Agawam Kezar Lodge the moment I saw it. I have been spending summer weeks with my family here ever since. I am honored to be able to share the joys of the property with you and your family. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Phil Libby purchased this lodge in 2000

Why Phil Libby chose Kezar Lake

Kezar Lake is a picturesque lake surrounded by mountains in all directions. Our lodge is secluded but shopping and recreational activities are all a short drive or hike away. A small marina is located on the lake to make boating easy and accessible.

50th Wedding Anniversary and Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

5 families, kids ranging from 2 to 21 celebrated parents 50th wedding anniversary. Debated for months over a hotel or trip to FL. Couldn't be happier with the Kezar Agawam Lodge choice. All the grandkids slept together in the bunkrooms. Parents stayed on the main floor, bathrooms attached to every bed room was nice. Kitchen and eating is over the top. We were able to easily rotate the cooking duties and accomodate the caterer. Ping Pong, games, fire pit and dock were well used. Plenty of nooks and crannies to get away too for quiet reading time. Although chilly in late Sept, got great use of the lake and water activities - kayaks, fishing, tubing, paddleboards. Absolute perfect spot for multi family, wide ranging kid ages family reunion.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

19 family members ranging in age from 8 to 80 stayed in the Kezar Lake Lodge for 1 week and it was awesome. The kitchen had more than you could hope for in terms of cooking and prepping areas and more dishes and glasses than you could ever use! The griddle was well used along with the ping pong table. The sleeping arrangements worked great for a crowd consisting of multiple families and it was a bonus to have your own bathroom in each. The common sitting areas were comfortable and roomy and the waterfront area was fabulous! Access to a personal dock was very convenient and having North Conway right around the corner was a perfect solution to the one rainy morning we experienced. The owner was responsive and pleasant. I would highly recommend this house.

Lakeside Perfection

  • 5 of 5

The lodge is fabulous. It was so nice to arrive at the lake and find the house to have a beautiful view, pristine setting and everything we needed to have a great vacation. There was plenty of space for our large group. The house has a nice large kitchen. The owner is a pleasure to deal with. He was kind and helpful each step of the way. If you have the chance to rent this house do it! If you are new to visiting lake Kezar I think you'll be pleasantly surprised how easy it is to get to and then how beautiful and remote it feels once you arrive. The air smells so good and the lake is cool and clean. The stars at night are really amazing. Great house + great location = Lakeside Perfection!

wonderful family vacation/reunion sight

  • 4 of 5

The property VERY comfortably housed a large gathering of extended family members. The sleeping porch was perfect for a large contingent of children..what fun! The dining area and kitchen were amazingly well stocked with everything you would need to prepare and feed large crowds. The views from the front deck and picture windows were gorgeous. Access to the lake and water activities was right out the front door. Water was beautiful/clear. We had perfect weather for outdoor activities in mid-June. The owners were very responsive to our requests. The property was everything we were looking for and MORE in a Maine "camp" atmosphere for a large crowd.

Spacious with something for everyone, in an idyllic lakeside setting

  • 5 of 5

Thank you, Phil, for providing our diverse group of 10 (aged 2 to 93, human and canine) with a wonderful week of family fun - cooking together in your roomy, incredibly well-stocked kitchen, doing puzzles and crafts in your sunny porch room, playing ping pong, hearing and watching loons from your living room rocking chairs, reading on the deck - and making full use of your row boat, the kayak we rented for the week from your Sporthaus shop (thank you so much for delivering it to the lodge for us), and our own canoe (even went for a refreshing, if brief, autumn swim in the clean, clean lake). Paddling north up past the Quisisana Resort and south all the way down to the Kezar Outlet Fen (Greater Lovell Land Trust has some good maps of the area) made for some great outings ... as did our dinner out at nearby Ebenezer's, the delightful, intimate country/blues concert we attended in the barn at the Stone Mountain Art Center in Brownfield, the som'ores we had around a camp fire, and the opening day at the Fryeburg Fair on Sept. 29. We only had time to do the 1-mile hike up Sabattus Mtn., but would love to return and do the trails at Lord and Pine Mtns., the Stone House-White Cairn Loop off Rt 113 going up through Evans Notch, the Heald and Bradley Ponds Reserve, and so many more places. I suspect many people aren't aware of how many things there are to do in the western mountains of Maine - along with the opportunity to sit at your beautiful lodge and contentedly do nothing at all! We highly recommend your place!
