The tranquil village of Lancken-Granitz in the southeast of the island of Rügen is located directly from the seaside resort Sellin and the peninsula Mönchgut, at the southern edge of the forest area of the Granitz. The well-signposted hiking and cycling trails around the village allow extensive tours to the picturesque bays of the Greifswalder Bodden, to the hunting lodge Granitz, to the megalithic tombs from the Neolithic period or to the unique white sandy beaches of the Baltic Sea. There are bathing possibilities at the Neuensiener lake (about 1.3 km) or in the Baltic Sea resort Sellin (about 5 km). In Sellin there are next to the impressive pier, numerous shops, restaurants, cafes, a leisure center, beach chair, rowboat and Bicycle rental, an indoor swimming pool, tennis and a riding stable. The entrance to the well-known bath train "Rasender Roland", which runs between Binz (in the summer months additionally also from Putbus) and the Baltic resort Göhren, is in Garftitz (about 1.3 km) possible.
