Spring break 2017

  • 5 of 5

Our family uses HomeAway often, but this beautiful home on Saint Simons Island was beyond our expectations! Every room was decorated so tastefully, with state of the art kitchen, very nice linens, tv's appropriately placed, and plenty of accommodations for up to 12 guests (tables & chairs, dishes, cooking utensils, towels, etc.)!! We can't wait to stay again soon!

Beautiful home - perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We so enjoyed this home. It is beautifully decorated with plenty of space for multiple families or families with older kids. We rented bikes for the week and could get anywhere we wanted to go. The teenagers loved the freedom of biking around the village or to the beach. Great screened back porch with fireplace and big farm table. Highly recommend it!

Great Girls Weekend

  • 5 of 5

This House exceeds every possible expectation! And we girls are a very picky! With three designers in the group and all owning houses on Lake Blackshear we aren't easily impressed. But we absolutely loved this house, beautifully done, lots of room and extremely comfortable. There is no doubt we will be back!

We Did Not Want to Leave!!

  • 5 of 5

Our week on St Simons Island was so perfect, this home is absolutely beautiful! The photos are beautiful but the home is so much better in person! The house is in a great location, close to the village shops and dining - we rented a golf cart upon the recommendation of the homeowner and our two teens really enjoyed the freedom of carting around the village area. We spent every morning at Palm Coast Coffee before everyone in the house woke up then had casual beach days, a few pool days, a day kayaking with South East Adventures - there was plenty to see and do!! One thing we were looking for was a great location that wasn't commercialized -and this is exactly what we found! The porch on the home was very inviting - we really enjoyed the house and can't wait to come back. The kitchen was great - the bathrooms were great - the beds were very comfortable -and if you have a love of interior design like myself - you will really appreciate the home and all of the designer touches. I think I photographed everything including the fringe and pleats on the curtains! :) Thank you so much for the stay-

I would highly recommend staying here, and while you are here (because I know you will trust me) check out Palm Coast Coffee I really loved this place in the mornings - I have my XM radio on Coffee House right now so I can imagine I am still there, try Coastal Kitchen for dinner , get outside and enjoy your family time through bike rides or kayak tours, visit Sea Island shops and restaurants, take in the spanish moss on the oak trees and make some memories!!!

Incredible Stay

  • 5 of 5

My wife, two kids (7 and 4), and my sister stayed in this beautifully appointed home. This was our 3rd trip to St. Simons, and it was perfect. The house listing description and the pictures of the home were completely accurate. This house was everything it said it was and more. Sitting on the front porch enjoying our coffee was our favorite morning ritual. The kids enjoyed swinging on the front porch swing and playing in the excellently landscaped front yard. We would recommend staying at this house to anyone. We will definitely be back next year.

Wonderful Stay in St Simons

  • 5 of 5

We had the most wonderful week in St Simons with family (including two toddlers!). Even with a few days of rain, this home was so comfortable that no one felt like we had to go "find something to do". The home is GORGEOUS. It has everything and more than you would need making it the ideal spot. The house is decorated in a very soothing colors with a casual beach feel including both a screened patio on the back and front patio with fans. A wonderful grill. The entire perimeter is gated which was great for my kids to go exploring (safely). King size beds in all three rooms with large walk in closets for your luggage to be out of sight. Its within walking distance to the highlights of St Simons, to include the Beach, Neptune Park (huge park and pools/ water slides), the Pier (for late day fishing and seeing the big ships), and the Village with shopping and restaurants. Its about an 8 minute drive to the grocery store and Sea Island. Enough cannot be said about this charming house other than LOOK NO FURTHER! We will definitely be back!!

Why Sharon Altenbach chose Saint Simons Island

We love being able to walk to dinner with multiple choices of restaurants. A short walk to the beach, pool, pier and park are all extra amenities contributing to a restful vacation spot. Surrounded by 100's of years old Oak Trees this home is the perfect spot for relaxation.

What makes this house unique

The front porch is inviting with a swing and other outdoor seating to pass the time away while looking at the large old oaks. It is a great family event to have dinner out on the back screened porch.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed this beautiful home on St. Simons. Very well furnished and the location was convenient to walk to restaurants. The outdoor dining on the back screened porch was especially nice along with the outdoor gas grill. We will definitely be back.

St. Simons Island has glorious beaches that can stretch out for hundreds of yards at low tide. If not for the beach, golf would be king on St. Simons Island and the surrounding area. St. Simons Island is home to three golf clubs on the Island and 234 holes of golf in the immediate area. You can get your rod and bait at St. Simons Bait and Tackle near the pier. – and drop line at the pier or you can charter a boat with Captain TJ Cheek for in shore or off shore fishing for Grouper, Snapper, Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Redfish, Sea Bass, Whiting, Flounder, Tarpon, Shark and King Mackerel. Fort Frederica, St. Simons Light House and Christ Church built in 1736, 1807 (initially) and the 1700s, respectively, these island treasures provide an historical perspective of colonial and Civil War era Georgia.
