718 Island Court is an ocean court town home with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and direct entry 2-car tandem garage. Being just two doors down from the ocean, and on the second floor, this home has great water views. Enjoy your morning coffee on the ocean facing deck while watching the waves.

The floorplan of this building can be a little tricky to explain, but it goes a little something like this: 718 Island Court occupies half of the first floor and the entire second floor with both an interior and exterior stairwell for access. The second floor living space features the kitchen, living room, dining area, private laundry, 2 bedrooms, and 2 full bathrooms. The living and dining areas have access to the ocean facing deck. Dining seating inside for 6 and outside for 4.

The décor features all new wood grain tile and new carpet in the bedrooms, alder wood cabinets in the kitchen, lots of light and windows with great style and fun color schemes. Amenities include a full-size stacked washer & dryer, cable TV, WIFI, central heat and air. There are also flat screen TV’s and a fully equipped kitchen with extra cupboard space. Everything that you need in your home away from home.

Need a nap after a day on the beach? The main floor boasts a master bedroom with a King size bed and private bathroom, and the second bedroom with a Queen bed, a balcony and bathroom across the hall. The third bedroom is on the ground floor with a Full/Twin Bunk combo, a half bath, and sliding doors that open to the ground floor patio.

Planning a family reunion or larger group trip? Both 716 Island Court and 718 Island Court can be rented together to create one large living space for an occupancy up to 15. There is a shared 4 car garage with designated tandem spaces to park 2 cars each.  Together, these two properties are perfect for big families, birthday celebrations, anniversaries, and any other special occasion.

Beautiful Beach House

There were 7 family members/friends staying in this unit. Like previous reviews, the garage is tight but it is do-able. The unit is newly remodeled and it couldn't be more beautiful. Plenty of cooking utensils, towels, beach towels, and space. The outside shower was super convenient after our beach days. There are no beach toys/boards/etc. so you should bring your own. It's not directly on the beach but just a unit behind the beach-front houses. The unit is also right next to the rollercoaster and shopping. There is pizza and a bike rental place right around the corner. Just so convenient for us. I would highly recommend this unit. We can't wait to come back!

WHAT A VACATION

It was such a blast for my husband and I along with our children for our trip to San Diego. From top to bottom this place ACTUALLY matched the photos you see now. The parking is a little tight, however my husband had no problems with it. I loved the feeling when I walked inside of the house. I was able to relax and my kids were able to have fun being so so so close to the beach. I can't wait to travel here again.

Cheryl Ann and Shawna were both so pleasant to work with. Always able to reach and help if we needed something. I would love to live here!

parking space is very tight

the townhouse itself is OK, but there are a few things that any guests need to know before they book this place:

1. the parking garage is very tight. the unit shares a tandem parking in the 4 car attached garage. if you have a SUV or minivan, be prepared to spend tons of time getting in and out of garage. there is very little space to adjust your car to fit in the garage, and when you back out the car, there is no driveway outside, so you need someone outside the car to direct your move. In fact, on Jan. 1 when we need to move our minivan out of garage, there was another car parked outside and we don't have enough space to back out the van, we called property management company, but no one can help us, we have to call police to tow the car. we were stuck in the garage for more than two hours before we can go. we could miss our flight if we did not schedule some buffer time. Parking in that area is a big mess. I think the management needs to give guests a heads up about this issue. single person with a large SUV or minivan, without parking assistance, will have a hard time getting in or out of garage.

2. one of the bedroom is on 1st floor and the rest of the rooms are on the third floor, second floor belongs to another townhouse. so expect some climbing stairs if you stay on the first floor.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you had troubles getting your car in and out of the garage. Mission Beach is one of the best know beaches and for that reason we have a ton of properties in a small area (especially homes that are steps to the ocean). We cannot prevent other individuals from parking in an area where they are not supposed to, and we apologize for that inconvenience. When you called us on January 1st , 2014 explaining the situation we tried our best to get the vehicle to move, we called the management company of that home and they contacted the vacationers; in situations that are out of our hands (such as this one) the police do need to be called. Yes, the first bedroom is on the 1st floor just as explained in our description of this home. This home occupies “half of the 1st floor and the entire 3rd floor”. Most vacationers love this for the pure privacy, we are sorry it wasn't a benefit to you. Our 718 Island court was just recently remodeled in June 2013 – we have received such wonderful feedback from then. With a 3rd story deck view to the roller coaster, city and the ocean so many enjoyed staying here. We hope your future travels are just as enjoyable.
