About Michael Egbert

We purchased this house in 1999 and have enjoyed many summers here with our children. Over the last 15 years we have worked to make our home a peaceful getaway. Come and make some memories!

Why Michael Egbert chose Lake Almanor

Lake Almanor is an ideal place for families to go to relax and enjoy their time together. There are many activities for all ages and interests to enjoy.

We have worked on making the house wheelchair friendly, kid friendly, and a relaxing place to share with friends and family. We've added a buoy and a dock with a walkway to make it easier for our guests to enjoy the lake. We have internet access as well as satellite TV provided by Dish Network. We have stocked the house with everything you will need to make your trip as worry free as possible. Linens and towels, soaps and paper goods, are all included. We want you to come and enjoy your vacation at our home on the lake.

What makes this house unique

Our home is on the water...there are no streets to cross and there is no need to 'pack up' to go play in the water. There are no steep drop offs once you get to the water. Our kids enjoy skipping rocks, swimming, fishing, and digging in the 'sand' (crushed rock). The addition of the buoy and the dock with a walkway make it easier to enjoy the water sports on the lake. We are only 7 miles from town...but it feels as though you are miles away in the mountains. There are hiking and biking trails nearby as well as bowling, and antiquing in the small nearby towns of Greenville and Chester. Golf courses and Lassen Volcanic National park are nearby as well as biking around the lake and toward Susanville. So whether you are looking for a central place to land as you explore all the region has to offer or if you are just looking for a quiet place to slow down and read a good book...we have a beautiful place for you to come and stay.

Lake Almanor Family Vacation

  • 4 of 5

The home was comfortable and well appointed. It is not fancy and could use some updating in places like the dock and the bathrooms. The beds in this home are extremely comfortable which was fabulous after a long day on the lake and exploring town. It was an added treat to have the linens provided and a great space in the laundry room to dry bathing suits. The kitchen is well equipped with lots of room to prep and serve food. It was fabulous to have the second fridge in the garage for drinks so there was room to store food in the kitchen. The homeowners have taken the time to think about what a renter would need to be comfortable in this home and what is needed to make sure you have a great trip. There was a kayak and canoe available. We didn't really get much of a chance to use them since we were boating or exploring the fun communities in the area.

Perfect Family Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a wonderful time at the classic lake house with a fabulous location. Mike was incredibly helpful in helping us find a ski boat to rent and providing use of his canoe and sea kayak made the week particularly fun. As the previous reviews stated, the house is very well stocked and all you need to bring is your food. The house is very well-maintained and clean. Lake Almanor is beautiful and the sunset view from the dock at this house is nothing short of spectacular. Thanks for a great week!!

Great vacation home on Lake Almanor

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at this home in June 2015 and had a great time. Two of us from Colorado and two from Redding really enjoyed our time at this home on the lake. The home is just as the photos show and it was clean and very well stocked with everything we needed, except a sharp knife to clean the fish (The owner has probably already provided one by now as recommended). Really great catching fish from the kayak and the dock-but many fought so hard they got away-loved the fight. Also very convenient to have the compressor to blow up our water toys and having the dock was perfect access. The weather was abnormally hot for June, but the window AC units kept it pretty comfortable. We also went bike riding, hiking and jet skiing. We would definitely stay here again if we decide to vacation at Lake Almanor in the future.

VERY RELAXING!!!!

  • 5 of 5

I have to say that is was one of our most relaxing vacations that we've had in a long time. The view of the lake from the master bedrooms was specular.

The pictures and descriptions of the home are exactly as they are posted on the website. Roomy, loved the openness of the kitchen and living room. We had 6 adults and never felt crowded.

Kitchen was well equipped with all your small appliances from crockpot to ice cream maker, glass bowls, baking pans, wine glasses and too many other items to list.

No issues with the internet connections.

The home was clean and well maintained and well stocked with linens.

Access to the lake was right out the back door.

We enjoyed the Kayaking and canoeing.

just right for the fishermen

  • 4 of 5

you will find the description & pictures of this home true to posting. comfortable for the 6 adults in our family. best things about this house: location (right on the water), the master suite (window cooler, newer furnishings, private bathroom, tv), great internet connection.

DOCK: fishing off the end of the dock did not disappoint! we also had fun swimming, sunbathing & cannonballing off the dock.

MAIN FLOOR: the open floor plan for the kitchen, dining, living room made for good conversation and being together. the seating is for 6 comfortably.

KITCHEN: the kitchen easily has table settings for 8 plus abundant settings suitable to use outdoors. you will find most pots & pans, utensils and bakeware that you would need. also coffee pot, crock pot, blender. pyrex bowls were available but no casserole or cake pan sizes.

PARKING: flat, easy entrance into house from either garage or front door. parking roomy enough for 3 cars & 2 trailered boats.

we had an enjoyable, comfortable stay at this home.

Best lake Almanor house yet!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 4th of July week at this house, we had a wonderful time. This home had many extras we were not expecting. From the air compressor for your lake toys, to completely stocked paper towels, TP, paper plates, laundry and dish soap. We had a blast in the Kayak as we'll. The fireworks could be seen from the dock and the neighborhood is quite. The owner Mike was easy to work with wich made a hassle free stay. I would highly recommend this home for family's looking for a little R&R.
