The Schindler Ranch home is so peaceful and serene, it was just what we needed for our vacation! Our family of four had a wonderful time there. The home is spacious, very clean and extremely comfortable with all of the modern amenities to keep our kiddos happy. We made precious memories there and took some amazing photos day after day! The views of the mountain ranges and the big sky sunsets were spectacular. Tammy was an amazing and thoughtful host, we will definitely be back!
This is a peaceful home in beautiful surroundings. Three families gathered for the 4th of July here. We all had a great time. Plenty of room--clean and comfortable. We didn't catch any fish, but didn't spend a lot of time fishing. We went to Crystal Park to dig for crystals and found some nice specimens. Nearby restaurants were great, but the kitchen is well stocked with spices, condiments, etc. So cooking was easy. Everything that we needed was right there for us. Highly recommend this home!
We have vacationed in Montana for years and consider this wonderful rental the best we've ever rented. Of course with the Big Hole River literally in your backyard, the fishing is unmatched. But the views, the wildlife and the nearby town of Jackson offer a great slice of the true Montana. My husband and I hope to return here again.
What a great place to go! We had trout for breakfast every day and it was wonderful. Although all of us did not fish, there were so many more things to do! I watched a doe and her fawn from the front window for quite some time. We saw antelope, elk, deer, and the views were to die for. One day we took a trip to the Lez Perce Indian battle ground and learned a lot about the tribe and its tribulations, I would definitely recommend this. On Saturday we drove into the little town of Jackson and had dinner at the Jackson Hot Springs restaurant/Bar. Although they have a Mexican Food restaurant too, we did not try it.
I vacation in SW Montana every year to fly fish with my family. This was, hands down, the best place we've rented in terms of fishing, wildlife viewing and scenery. The town of Jackson has a great restaurant and bar at Jackson Hot Springs. The house was very clean and everything was as advertised. We saw elk and deer every night, even saw a moose. The fishing was incredible, mostly Brookies and big. I will be back to this wonderful Big Hole Valley ranch.
My family and I had a wonderful and relaxing 4 night stay at the cattle ranch. We flew into Missoula, got our rental car, and then took the 2-1/2 beautiful drive south to the ranch. The house is very spacious with a large island, well-equipped kitchen. The beds are very comfortable and plentiful. My two teenage sons occupied themselves from sun up to sun down fly fishing on the ranch. I even got my wife to fly fish when we did a full day fishing trip with Max Lapham of Lapham Outfitters. The scenery is beautiful and watching deer, elk, and antelope on the surrounding lands. There are many scenic nearby drives - we particularly liked the Jackson, Polaris, Wise River, Wisdom loop.
We enjoyed bbq'ing on the deck, having dinner at 10pm due to the late sunsets and then playing Scrabble as a family until midnight. We liked not having TV which gave us a lot of uninterrupted bonding time with our kids. A truly awesome family vacation!
