Bear Creek Lodge 107
The condo was convenient to the funicular-walk across the driveway. The shuttle service was excellent. The condo itself needed a deep cleaning. The glass on the cabinets, French doors and on the TV had grease streaks across them like someone attempted to clean them with a greasy cloth. The same for the can opener- you could see feel the grease on it. The sofa slip cover was not on correctly. There is a base cover that the cushions sit on-The cover was over the cushions. After getting scratched a couple times by the slip cover zipper, I pulled the cover off and put the cushions in the correct position. The condo has an attractive updated kitchen and master bath. Also, glassware that is not used regularly has dirt/grease film (martini glasses, some of the wine glasses). Pros: convenient ski/boot storage, big lounge area in lobby, close to funicular, fast shuttle service, plenty of space for four people. Recommend deep cleaning of sofa slip cover, run ALL glassware through dishwasher, both bathroom sinks need drano for slow drains. Nice view of mountain
Telluride is beautiful
We loved the condo, check in, staff and facilities. The funicular was not super reliable since it is dependent on people closing the door to send it on its way. This coupled with taking a chair that got stuck for 10+ minutes made for a long journey to the slopes. As long as you are not expecting ski in and ski out and easy access to the slopes, you will be very happy. Great place!
Thank you for your visit to our condo and your kind words about our unit, the Bear Creek Lodge and of course Telluride. I was sorry to hear about the Ski Resort's chair lift delay. I would recommend using the Bear Creek Lodge van service for access to slopes as the short ride puts you at the Ski Resort Gondola system or Blue Mesa stop which provide reliable access to the slopes. Please come visit us again.
Nice Condo in a great Mountain Village location
Overall, we were impressed with this condo and enjoyed our stay at Bear Creek Lodge.
The location in Mountain Village is great. It is just a short shuttle ride to a nice grocery store. The gondola is next to the grocery store as well. Also, the complex is a little higher up from the core of mountain village, so it is very peaceful.
The views are fantastic from the unit and surrounding area.
The unit has been recently renovated. The kitchen and bathrooms were renovated very nicely.
The split layout was great with the 2 bedrooms not by each other
The condo's shuttle service was very convenient. We never had to wait more than 5 minutes. Also, it is truly on demand.
The front desk workers were always nice and accommodating.
The owner, Walter was very friendly and accommodating.
The little funicular system that takes you to the lower village bypass ski run was nice. Although it was a bit of a hike to and from the drop off to the lodge.
The bad: Just 2 items but one was an issue
The beds were either old and worn out or simply purchased on the super soft side. We found both beds much too soft to be comfortable, which led to short nights. I am not that large, 5'11 170 pounds. I literally sunk down into the middle of the mattress in the queen bedded room. For 80's movie buffs, not quite like the sinking mattress scene in "The Money Pit" with Shelley Long but still not a great experience. I did not use the bed in the other bedroom, but another member of our party said it was similar to the queen bedroom I stayed in.
This is not a big issue, but a couple of the non-stick pots and pans were beyond their useful life. They were a bit gross and need to be thrown away. Luckily the unit had other regular pots and pans. We bought some Pam and oil and used those. Also, we never found any kitchen towels, pot holders, etc. We just ended up using paper towels in the kitchen when we cooked.
We quite liked the unit and bear creek lodge in general. If it weren't for the beds I would give the place 5 stars.
Thank you for taking the time to review our condo. I appreciate the kind remarks. Regarding the bed, it is only a year and half old Stearns & Foster so I will check it out.
great condo and location!
Our family of 4 really enjoyed our time at this condo. The setup of the condo is great and the shuttle service to the gondolas is really useful. We did not take advantage of any of the facilities included in the complex but they looked very nice.
Downhill and Cross Country Skiing, Fitness Center & Golden Door Spa, Skating, Snowmobiling & Sledding, Great summer festivals including Bluegrass (June)and Film (September)
