Guestbook comments from the owner

This was our first vacation with our 4-month baby boy. We enjoyed the museums and the Aspen Vista trail. The restaurants were great, but especially Muda Noodles on Cerillos, featuring excellent Thai food, our stay here was very comfortable!

Very nice condo in the city

  • 4 of 5

The condo is beautifully decorated and has a very interesting outdoor patio surround by the high walls of the condo unit but still quite private. The sitting/dining area is quite nice with a nicely equipped kitchen from which you can see the sitting/dining area. There is also a 1/2 bath on the first floor.

The master suite is very nice with a large bed and in-suite bath which is also good sized. However, the second bedroom is quite small, with two twin beds and a small bathroom. The laundry room is also on the second floor. An issue for some older folks may be that the bedrooms are on the second floor with a winding. carpeted staircase up to them (by winding I mean you go up 4-5 steps, take a sharp left and go up 4-5 more to a landing, take a 180 turn and go up another 8 steps or so). A bit difficult to haul large luggage up.

The location depends on what you are looking for in a vacation. It's in the city itself right next to a main road (the entrance is on a small side road). However, traffic noise wasn't a problem in the condo. The upside is that you can be in the main plaza shopping/restaurant area (which is very nice) with just a 15-20 walk. And it's about an hour from Albuquerque and about the same to Taos (take the "High Road" to Taos, a gorgeous drive).

Overall, a very nice condo and we would recommend it plus Phyllis was great to work with.

Casa Nicho in late spring

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 4 women "of a certain age" on our annual "spring fling". Loved the location of the house--so close to all the sites downtown...Sofa/chairs in living room were quite comfy. Loved the convenience of turning fireplace on/off w/ a switch. Kitchen was great. We didn't do any cooking but it's ready to go if that's your choice. The extra half bath downstairs was a real bonus! Bedrooms were roomy and beds were quite comfy (softer than I'm used to but very comfy). Patios were nice. We just didn't have an opportunity to use them. Wi-fi worked well. I could see where parking in a big vehicle might be 'iffy' if all units are rented but at least there IS off street parking and that's a good thing...We would not hesitate to rent Casa Nicho again. Phyllis was very easy to work with and was always "Johnnie on the spot" for us.

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful property for 3 nights. It is very clean and beautifully furnished. We walked to the railyard and the plaza. Phyllis is wonderful to work with. I will definitely recommend this property to friends.

I stayed in this beautiful home for 4 nights with my husband and 2 kids. I am super picky when it comes to choosing a home to rent and this one exceeded my expectations. It was so clean! The pictures don't do the home justice--it is much larger than it looks like In the photos. The furnishings and decorations were beautiful. The bed in the master bedroom was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The house is close to all attractions and restaurants. I highly recommend this rental!

Perfect Vacation Rental

  • 5 of 5

I have rented several VRBO properties in this price range all over the country, and I rank this lovely townhome among the best. It is spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed; the rooms are spacious and well designed. The comfy furnishings and original pieces of artwork are particularly notable. The kitchen is well equipped with updated appliances and sundry utensils. We rented a car which we found useful in exploring Santa Fe and the surrounding area; however, there are grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance as previously mentioned. It should be explained that, while the townhome is located in a residential neighborhood, walking in the area means traversing busy streets and navigating uneven terrain.

We thoroughly enjoyed Tomacita's and their frozen margaritas, a day strolling along Canyon Road, and a visit to the Jackapole Mercado for less expensive folk art and collectibles.

We had a wonderful time, and enjoyed the property; which it is very well maintained and very clean. It is a great value for your money, and lots more value than the best hotel in town. We will certainly do it again!
