The Butterfly Beach House is a well-appointed three-bedroom villa with spectacular sea views, a spacious interior, pool and beach swimming and easy access to the city. Located on a lush, three-acre oasis of mature flowering trees and tropical plants, the Butterfly Beach House is a truly wonderful vacation retreat, ideal for a stay of several nights or more.
Three air-conditioned bedroom suites feature queen-size beds and private shower rooms. For meals and entertainment, there's a well-equipped open kitchen, dining room and living room, as well as a covered elevated porch overlooking the pool. The house has washer and a housekeeper visits the villa six days a week.
Living Room: All rooms in the Butterfly Beach House look out over the sea - a thrilling leap of the eye across space, taking in the harbor at Castries and the exquisite beach of La Toc. Inside, the house is breathtakingly spacious, designed on an open floor plan of 2,500 square feet, with 17-foot ceilings, exposed rafters, white walls and white marble floors.
Bedrooms: Three air-conditioned bedroom suites feature queen-size beds and private shower rooms. For meals and entertainment, there's a well-equipped open kitchen, dining room and living room, as well as a covered elevated porch overlooking the pool.
Pool and Beach: Just below the house is an impressive 14 x 24-foot butterfly-shaped pool with pool decks and a number of outdoor patio areas. The villa's beach and harbor views are perhaps at their best here, which is why for many guests the pool becomes a virtual second living area.
When you want to trade seaside for poolside, it takes only about five minutes to walk from the villa down to La Toc Beach along a pleasantly sloping gradient and stairway.
La Toc is perhaps the most perfect beach on St. Lucia. With its dramatic and romantic beauty (and proximity to the Sandals Regency Hotel) it's a favorite site for wedding parties looking for an unbeatable beach atmosphere.
St. Lucia's capital city, Castries, is not far away, and offers everything you need when it's time to go shopping.
Please note: Because of its cliff-side location, this house is not suitable for parties with small children or guests with walking difficulties.

The views from the pool and rooms are absolutely beautiful. It was private, yet close enough to Sandals to use a day pass when I wanted to try to resort experience. This house is definitely better than Resort vacation. I would stay again.
Thank you Michelle for your 5 star review. Happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay!
Amazing pool with awesome views. Sunsets were incredible.
While not the most luxurious house we ever stayed in, we definitely enjoyed our stay. Sipping cocktails in the pool while watching amazing sunsets was a highlight of our trip.
Great location for our trips to the North (Pigeon Island, Rodney Bay, Castries Market) and South (Soufriere/Pitons). Also nice to the have a Beach in walking distance, though we spent most of the time adventuring out or in the pool.
just an awesome property! Our experience definitely was five stars! The property was well kept and views were stunning! We were able to enjoy day trips throughout St. Lucia and return to the magnificence of the villa! Our favorite spot was the pool and veranda! The caretakers and property manager made sure that our stay was going well, by checking in with us!
The view from the balcony at the Butterfly Beach House is breathtaking. One could almost be content sitting out there for an entire vacation. However, retiring at night to the crisp, white linens in the air-conditioned bedrooms was also heavenly. Pearl, the housekeeper, truly makes a beautiful bed. She also takes great pride in keeping the rest of the house spotless. Her sweet personality is a bonus. If you desire a luxury resort with full-service amenities, this house is not a good choice. But if you are independent travelers who appreciate a well-maintained family home with a central location ideal for exploring the entire island, look no further. Uriel, the house manager, met us upon arrival and explained everything we needed to know in great detail. He also came by daily to check on us, which offered peace of mind. LaToc Beach, adjacent to a Sandals resort, is a short walk down a staircase from the house's patio. It's a pretty beach and large enough that we didn't feel crowded among the Sandals guests. And Sandals doesn't seem to mind if you borrow one of their beach loungers. As the sun rises early and sets early in St. Lucia, we got into the habit of morning activities - zip lining, hiking Pigeon Island, whale watching, climbing Gros Piton, touring the Botanical Gardens are more. Then we came back to the house in the afternoon to enjoy the pool well into the evening. While the kitchen is not large or exceedingly modern, it's certainly adequate to prepare simple meals. For example, we got fresh Mahi from a local fisherman and cooked it for dinner twice. One word of caution: the driving in St. Lucia is very treacherous. We are adventurous travelers who have driven in many locales, but St. Lucia's winding, narrow roads with no shoulders, heavy traffic in some areas and many pedestrians, should not be taken lightly. We originally planned to get a rental car. However, after the ride in from the airport, we changed our minds. The best decision we made was to hire a driver named David, aka, "Big Runner." He drives many of the guests at Butterfly Beach House and a few other neighboring villas. He was incredible. He showed us many local things we would not otherwise have seen and essentially served as our private tour guide all week. His rates are incredibly fair. We HIGHLY recommend him. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to St. Lucia, and we would definitely stay at the Butterfly Beach House again.
great place to stay
The location of BBH is excellent for access to all parts of the island. Its secluded position on a steep hillside above tree level and surrounded by greenery, with wide views of the ocean and Castries to the North, is spectacular. The only slight disappointment for keen sea swimmers is that the surf at nearby La Toc beach, reached by an intriguing private path and steps, tends to be rough. However, several good swimming beaches are only a few minutes drive away and the lovely pool is a great substitute.
The spaciousness of the accommodation is a great bonus, and all three bedrooms had similar facilities and views. The huge balcony with a wide selection of comfortable seating made a most enjoyable meeting and eating area.
The fact that we were living in a family home gave added interest and the owner, Alice Bagshaw, who lives nearby, made us feel welcome and relaxed and was a mine of information about recent island history. One small downside about the facilities was the rather crowded space and dated equipment in the kitchen - a slight inconvenience for energetic self-caterers such as us!
The staff, Uriel, Pearl and Junior were attentive and helpful and looked after us well.
Our requirements for holiday accommodation are probably not typical of most visitors to the Caribbean, as we mostly enjoy exploring remote areas independently, but BBH would be an ideal place for both relaxing and chilling out and as a base for taking in any of the more active attractions of the island. Beach bums would do well to rent a vehicle.
Finally, thanks to Oasis Marigot for facilitating out booking so efficiently and to Alice and her staff for their hospitality and attention to out requirements and special requests.
Amazing House with Great Location
Our stay at the Butterfly Beach House was wonderful! The house was beautiful and the pool overlooking the ocean was the best! The house was very clean and decorated nicely. The staff was wonderful and took care of our every need. The owner couldn't come to visit us because she has broken her arm, so she invited us to see her at her house! The people of St. Lucia are very gracious. We can't wait to return to St. Lucia and the BBH. Be sure to have lunch at the Pink Plantation House, high up on the hill not far from the BBH. Great food, great staff, and best view of St. Lucia!
