About the property

Holualoa Cottage Studio minutes to Downtown Kona and Beaches

Lovely Mauka Studio Cottage on 5 Acre Horse Property yet minutes to downtown Kailua-Kona and Beaches.

This slice of Hawaiian Heaven is located on the temperate side of Hualalai Mountain, home to the finest coffee in the world, Kona Coffee. The beautiful vistas from our property over look our pastures with grazing Calves and Horses, the neighboring Coffee Farms and on to the Beautiful Kona Coastline and Ocean Horizon views that will amaze you with incredible Sunsets. The three stall Cedar Barn is home to Gilda, our Friesian mare and her 1/2 Arabian Colt, Kuu Ipo. There is also one wonderful loveable Dog, Bella and a White Homing Pigeon named Pearl Jam. Of course we shouldn't leave out the flocks of Wild Turkeys, Parrots, Franklins, Doves, and the variety of wild Pheasant and Birds that insist on visiting every day. Your nights will have the pleasant sounds of a variety of frogs.

The Cottage is located on the quiet side of the main house and pool with commanding Coastline and Ocean Views of its own. We are a non-smoking property. The cozy studio includes a small refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, dishes and utensils. There is also a large flat screen TV and WiFi.

We are located approximately 2.5 miles from the Wonderful Quaint Artist Community of Holualoa Town, an Historic small town overlooking Kailua-Kona. This charming old Hawaiian Town boasts several beautiful local Artist Galleries, an acclaimed Restaurant, a small General Store, a country Post Office, Library, School, Churches and lots of old style Coffee Shack buildings. Of course there is a great Coffee House with Fresh Baked Goodies to enjoy as you stroll the Galleries. Kailua-Kona, beaches, restaurants and shopping are just minutes down the mountain.

Our home sits approximately 2200 feet above downtown Kailua-Kona. A bit cooler than sea level the nights are perfect for sleeping and the days perfect for activities. Our day time temperatures rarely exceed 85 degrees even in Summer.

Come experience a side of Hawaii that most people never get to see, yet so close to Kona, Shopping and all beach activities. Come enjoy our Country Hospitality smothered in Aloha but please understand this is a no tobacco smoking property. Mahalo!

The aloha spirit is alive and abundant in our wonderful country home in Keopu Mauka. Great getaway

  • 5 of 5

Great stay up on the hillside! Did our day trips and returned to country relaxation on the mountain. Very quaint but comfortable, Sidnie and Wayne were very gracious host. I will return for future stays in Kona.

Quiet country cozy cottage

  • 4 of 5

What a quiet country hillside cottage. We were surrounded by the sounds of nature. Birds, cows, horses, dogs and peepers. No traffic noise, just refreshing sounds of nature. This cottage is very clean and peaceful.

Lovely studio

  • 4 of 5

Perched in the hills above Kona, this is a cozy and convenient spot for a single or a couple who want a quiet and natural environment as their home base. The owners live in a beautiful home right next door. The property also is home to horses, cattle and a very friendly dog, which we enjoyed. There is a small fridge and coffee maker, toaster and basic kitchen tools. We bought bread, cold-cuts, and condiments for breakfast and lunch, eating dinners in restaurants in the area. Most of the days were spent exploring the coastal communities of the big island which are all within reach. Hosts are available but not intrusive. Very nice.

Peaceful retreat with an amazing view!

  • 5 of 5

We SO enjoyed our time in this sweet little cottage. It is perfectly situated above Kona, so you not only have the most amazing sunset (and rest of the day) views, but it is also incredibly quiet and peaceful. The stars at night are INCREDIBLE! Wayne and Sidnie were wonderful and everything we needed was there. A perfect launching pad to see the wonders of the big island. Highly, highly recommend!

Beautiful property, away from bustle of the nearby (15-20min) tourist trap of Kailua Kona

  • 5 of 5

Gorgeous property on a lush ranch style private residence. Sidnie was very kind, and the couple was very hands off (which is our style), but easy to approach for questions or problems. My husband had some issues with the internet, but the owners were very responsive and determined that the router was a little out of date. I would only suggest they update the knife in the tiny kithenette (dull with a broken tip). Buy a small bottle of shampoo as only bar soap is provided.
