It is close enough to the beach, shopping, golf, tennis and a myriad of other activities to have fun and stay busy, but far enough away from everything to truly relax and simply enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Everything was great. The place was clean, beautiful, and the location was perfect. Would stay again!
When we arrived after 4:00 (rental begins at 4pm), the code that was email to me days earlier did not work to open the door. After fiddling with it for a few minutes, I put my 91 year old father (who uses a walker) in the car and began to call the management office. I called every phone number on the email that was sent to me. Left emergency messages on every answering machine I encountered. I sent emails. I called the emergency number no less than 5 times, also got no answer. I had to involve Palmetto Dunes Security office to assist in getting in touch with Marion's Place Management Company. I finally connected with the property manager after 3 HOURS of telephoning, emailing, and working with security. I was ultimately given a master code to finally enter the property. The management company has NEVER CALLED OR EMAILED me back. I still haven't heard from them. Once we finally got in to the condo, it was lovely. Very clean and perfect for our weekend. I give the condo 5 stars but the management company 1 star.
We stayed here for two months. This is a very nice condo with a good location. Big enough for four people without being crowded. Clean and insect free. Adequate supplies. The management company was quick to reply and address minor issues. Very quiet and private. The outside area was a plus since we had our dog with us. Pools are located a short distance away. Easy, short drive to the beach with plenty of parking.
The good: clean, carpet was still damp so I know it was clean. Location is good, very convenient to shopping, dining, movies. Size is good for a couple or small family. Pet friendly. Great mgmt company to deal with, very helpful.
The not so good: the photos may have been a few years ago. Furniture is a bit worn and all photos make the space look larger. The bathrooms were small. New paint and updating needed. The most disappointing was the patio. This was a large reason we selected the property. We wanted to let our two small Yorkies out and we ourselves wanted to sit outside. The closed in aspect appealed to us. It was dirty and all the furniture was stacked in the corner. Not suitable for use and there was splintering wood on the sliding door frame leading outside. Which is not safe for pets or children. So we were unable to utilize the patio area.
For the rate of this property and not being able to use patio I would have probably chosen another place for our stay.
We only needed a weekend rental (which used to be difficult to find) and this fit our needs perfectly. This condo was good for a shorter stay. It was very clean and a perfect size for my husband and I, our one year old and eighteen year old. From the description we thought it backed up to the golf course - it was near the golf course - so our patio/backyard view was not so good (but that was ok since we were always out and about). There were a few things that weren't perfect but easily fixable - the wifi wasn't working and the master bedroom carpet seemed to be newly cleaned (good!) but it was still wet when we arrived and took a day to dry out. Otherwise, perfect size for a small family for a shorter visit. If we were staying longer, we would need more of a view and backyard. The location was great - within the plantation and outside the plantation. It was very "hilton heady"!
We were very pleased with our rental of this property. The beds were very comfortable. The rooms were spacious and location was optimum relative to access to the ocean, general store and activities. Additionally the property was clean and very quiet. We definitely will plan to rent this unit again next time we vacation at Hilton Head.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Palmetto Dunes is fabulous. We rented bikes--for the week--at the bike shop just down the road which made our trip to the beach each morning very quick & easy. The condo was very clean, very roomy and very comfortable--especially the beds. Lots of closet space, lots of dresser drawers, nice bathrooms & showers. Loved having a washer & dryer in the unit. The only thing missing was a view--the bedroom & living room windows just looked out at other units. Wonderful location, close to lots of great restaurants--loved Lowcountry Backyard, Hudsons Seafood House on the Docks, Black Marlin and Skull Creek Boathouse.
