About Mark J. Abrams
Born in 1953, I was always fascinated with skiing which I finally learned in 1975. During my many trips to Mammoth, I fell in love with the area and vowed to own my own place there some day when I could afford it. My dream eventually came true. As a youngster, I was fascinated with electronics and studied it all the time. The hobby was expensive so I got my first job at age 14 washing dishes to support my hobby. Soon thereafter, I moved up to a wholesale bakery where I worked 20-30 hours per week to support my hobby while going to school full time. Upon graduation from high school, I got my first job in the electronics industry installing and repairing car telephones. This was in the days long before cellular telephones when the car phone took up most of the trunk of the car and cost thousands of dollars. Soon thereafter, I started working on two way radios where I worked on communications systems for the US Marshall, police departments and thousands of businesses. At age 21, I started my own company selling and servicing two-way radios. To this day, I am still running the same operation and love what I do. The only unfortunate aspect is that I have not figured out how to do it in Mammoth and make enough money to live in Mammoth full time.

Why Mark J. Abrams chose Mammoth Lakes
Although I already owned a unit at The Village At Mammoth, I wanted something that would provide a more relaxed atmosphere and accommodate a larger number of people. We often invite friends and family to visit with us at Mammoth so we quickly outgrew our unit at The Village. However, most units in Mammoth have outdoor parking which in winter time is a major hassle whenever it snows, so we wanted the heated underground parking. Although I like the convenience of The Village, the large amount of activity often prevented us from truly being able to relax in Mammoth. Solstice is peaceful, quiet and remote enough that we encounter wildlife that does not visit The Village. We wanted to teach our little girls about the great outdoors which is in far greater abundance at Solstice.
What makes this Condo unique
When skiing at Mammoth, Solstice is the ultimate for rest and relaxation. Located on 16th hole of the Sierra Star Golf Course, it is a short 2 minute free ride to the Little Eagle Lodge from the bus stop located about 500' from the condo. The convenience of the location makes it easy to get around town to eat out or we can cook in the fully equipped kitchen in our unit. With the playing cards, poker chips, numerous games, food supplies, the custom artwork, large flat screen TVs, DVDs and all the other amenities we put in our unit, it is truly our home away from home, a place to rest, relax and enjoy! All our guests receive a free surprise gift to which our guests claim that it is a true 'deal maker!' Solstice is a beautiful new condominium project, placed in the middle of the Sierra Star golf course, and just a short ride from Eagle Express (chair 15). Surrounded by woods, the complex is situated between the 16th fairway where every unit has wonderful views, and the clubhouse conveniently located across the street. For access to the slopes, or just getting around town, leave the car at home, and catch the free town shuttle from the nearest stop, just a 1/2 block from your front door. The 3 bedroom units all have a convenient ground level entrance which leads to the main, 2nd floor living area, and a 3rd floor master bedroom. Amenities of Solstice include a year-round outdoor Jacuzzi, secure underground parking with elevator access to the main level and clear crisp mountain air!

Perfect for 6!
Solstice #6 was perfect for our family! The kitchen has nice appliances and is well stocked. The bathrooms and bedrooms were clean and comfortable. The property is in a great location if you have a car, 2 min drive to Eagle Lodge, Vons, and the Village. You can’t beat having a parking garage for those snowy mornings, no need to clean off your car!!! We enjoyed our stay and plan to be back next year, Thank you Mark!
Exceeded our expectations
This exceeded all of our expectations. It was clean and very comfortable. Definitely a great place to come after a long day on the mountain. The condo is well appointed and stocked with everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay. It is also close to Eagle Lodge via a quick shuttle ride or a short drive. We would highly recommend this condo!
Great place! Thank you
Great property and owner
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this beautiful property. The owner is fantastic and very attentive. We would stay here again, highly recommend!
Very comfortable townhouse that is roomy enough for a large family
This condo/townhouse was large enough for our family/extended family of 9 people to enjoy each other's company under one roof. I am a timeshare owner, but found this lodging to be more comfortable, an "at home" feel with many added extras, such as board games, bikes and other items available for activities. We made good use of the large community spa each night. The unit was located close enough to stores and outdoor adventure. We would definitely choose this unit again if visiting Mammoth.
Nice property with good location
This condo has a nice location but is not comfortable for a summer rental. Since it is a second story unit it is very hot due to no air conditioning. Also, since it was quite warm the stench from the garbage in the garage was very bad. This was our first time renting from VBRO and we were not used to not having anyone locally available to address our concerns. A few items in the condo needed attention (door handle on bathroom fell off, window crank broken in guest bedroom, burned out lights, missing bbq brush, only 4 coffee cups available). On the plus side it does have a well stocked kitchen and is next to the golf course.
It is very unusual for air conditioning to be needed in Mammoth which is the reason that very few properties in Mammoth have it. There is a ceiling fan in the living room and portable fans in the closets of the various bedrooms. The issue with the trash room is under the control of the homeowners association and they are aware of the problem. They have since rebuilt the trash room to eliminate the problem. The door handle has been fixed and the broken window crank was caused by a recent guest who did not report the issue and has been replaced. I was unaware of the missing coffee mugs which has been replaced along with water and wine glasses so that there is now a full complement of glasses. Some guests break items without reporting it to management, some guests leave them at the jacuzzi which will never get back to the unit and other guests rent both of my units at Solstice and move dishes, glasses and utensils between units without any regard to which unit they actually belong. It is not possible to catch all of these issues after every guest even though we try to do so.
Ice skating, sleigh rides, toboggan.
