My husband, son, and I lived on one side of the property and rented out the other for many years. We love the Pacific Beach community and love sharing it with vacationers. As our family grew, we moved a few blocks up and now both sides of the duplex are available to rent. Whenever we travel, we like to ask the locals where their favorite spots are and love doing the same for our renters. We are happy to give you the inside scoop so that you can get the most out of your San Diego vacation.

What makes this House unique
What we love most is parking our car on Friday and not having to move it again until Monday morning. Everything you need is within walking distance--the beach, the bay, restaurants, shops, grocery stores. There is so much to do or you can do nothing at all. And if you do venture out...there is so much so close by. Within a 20 minute drive you can be in the Historic Gaslamp Quarter, at La Jolla Shores, visiting museums in Balboa Park, at Sea World, the San Diego Zoo, or Petco Park watching the San Diego Padres.

Very cute beach house, walking distance to the ocean and restaurants!
Had a great time! We stayed here for ComicCon 2017, and it's close enough to Uber to downtown San Diego and avoid parking fees. The property is well kept and close to restaurants, the beach, and CVS (in case you forgot any essentials).

Fit Needs Perfectly
We were looking for a dog friendly place close to PB and that is exactly what we got. This house is a duplex so you share a wall with another unit which is also used as a rental property. There were guests in the other unit during our stay but once inside the unit we couldn't hear anything from them. There is an apartment building next door and we did hear some noise from that while residents were on their patio but that's to be expected at any residence in the area.
We had 3 adults and you could easily fit a 4th. The person who stayed on the pullout said it was decently comfortable and the master bedroom is very comfortable and surprisingly large.
Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and the dishwasher worked great. The grill also worked properly although we did have to spend some time cleaning it prior to grilling.
If you are bringing pets please note that there is no secure outdoor space for them and the house sits on a rather busy road so we did have to have the dogs on leashes whenever they were outside of the home.
The house had definitely been cleaned but it does have carpet and is pet friendly as the description clearly states so you'll want to keep that in mind when setting your expectations.
All in all this was the perfect place for our stay with the pups and we will definitely be planning a trip back!
I love pacific beach
My husband and I lived here for 3 months while I worked in San Diego and we loved it! The house is really cute and has a lot of room. The kitchen has all the cookware you need. Christiana and Joe were super nice and were responsive whenever I needed them. The house is set back from the street so I was never disrupted by the noise of the busy road. Also a parking spot is a must in PB because it gets busy, especially on the weekends. I really enjoyed Pacific Beach, there were so many good restaurants ( you have to check out Crushed for the mimosas and Oscars for the tacos) and just a short walk to the beach. However it's a young crowd and it gets busy on weekends so keep that in mind.
We spent a week here. It was very well located to get around San Diego and environs. The home was pretty much as indicated in the write-up; it was spacious and fairly well furnished. The kitchen was sufficiently stocked for meal preparation, although some of the upgrades were crudely done. Sleeping was quiet since the bedroom was in the back of the house--even for a busy street. There were several things that did not work: outlets in bathroom, dining area fan, etc; but we managed despite them. Parking would have been more convenient had the tenants in the other unit not taken up 3 spaces with their 2 cars. They told us the owners told them to park that way. My biggest complaint was the slowness of the owners to respond to e-mails and phone calls prior to our arrival. I an used to being able to get instant answers to my questions from VRBO owners. All in a llll, we really did enjoy our time spent there.
4&1/2 stars - perfect location - cute property - nice owners
You can walk to anything which worked perfect for us. We had a car but the weather is so nice and there are so many restaurants & shops within walking distance you really do not need one. The house was in good shape and the owners stocked it with all types of beach gear. My wife is on yelp all the time and we were able to find plenty of highly rated restaurants within walking distance ( less than a mile ) and none of them disappointed us. We will most likely rent this unit or the 2 bedroom unit again...
