Everyone Loves 2nd Haven
Enjoy your best vacation ever in this beautiful , totally remodeled in 2017, three bedroom, 2 bath home. Our 2nd Haven is located in a quiet and safe Florida beach community on a double lot with a huge, privacy fenced backyard. You are just a short, easy walk or bike ride to the beach, the intra-coastal waterway public boat ramp and Windswept beach park.
Two of the three bedrooms have extremely comfortable high quality King and Queen Beds (could be two masters for two couples) and one bedroom has two twin beds. There is also a sleeper sofa in the Florida room if you need it. The bedrooms are located on opposite ends of the house for your ultimate privacy. This house can easily sleep up to 8 people. Our home is fully equipped and very well decorated. A large equipped kitchen allows you to easily prepare meals at home when you choose, although you are surrounded by many incredible restaurants and walking distance to The RedFrog Grill and Pub. Enjoy the 55“ flat screen LED HD satellite TV, wi-fi, and BluRay DVD player. There’s even a stocked desk if Mom or Dad need to do a “little” work while away or just write postcards.
Bring your boat or kayaks and launch from the public boat ramp into the intra-coastal waterway, just four blocks from you. Or….walk 7 minutes, bike 4 minutes or drive less than 1 minute across to the best and widest drive-on beach on the East coast. We are located just four blocks across the street from the Mantazazs drive-on ramp. One block away you’ll find Windswept Beach park with a beautiful new playground for the kiddies and an outdoor exercise gym. When you return back home, you, the kids and dog can enjoy sunning and playing in the huge, privacy fenced backyard until time to watch sunset over the inter-coastal waterway. (You can watch from the backyard or join the neighborhood with a comfortable walk to the boat ramp.) There is so much to do within a short distance of our home to make your vacation memorable and fun. And in the evenings you can share your memories of the day sitting outside on either the open or covered back porches listening to the ocean.

George and I love the beach. We were both raised on east coast beaches and although we love living in the mountains of NC, we missed the coast. So we began looking for a home in a beach town that was reminiscent of the beaches we grew up on. We wanted all the conveniences of a city, but to be in a small community that was not overbuilt. We love wide beaches. George still surfs, so he wanted a beach where he could surf. He is also an active musician and plays frequently in St. Augustine. I wanted the laid back atmosphere of a beach community and to be able to walk the beach everyday. St. Augustine was a perfect match for us. We have lots of music and culture, beautiful wide beaches in a quiet community that reminds us of the beaches we grew up on.
We love the fact that we can just walk or bike the short distance to the beach. The beach is one of the widest on the east coast and we are always awed by it. It's a casual beach which we find very relaxing. Pets are allowed on a leash and we enjoy watching people and their pets. The neighborhood is very quiet and friendly. We are so close to Dtwn St. Augustine , the oldest city in the U.S. It takes minutes to drive Dtwn and enjoy all the siteseeing, shops, architecture, music and great dining. We are always passing ghost tours and one of these days I'm going to take one.
We rent from VRBO all over the country, always in pet friendly rentals. 2nd Haven is our favorite and we have stayed here several times. There is a long list of extras this house has. Part have to do with the location. It's in a quiet neighborhood and close to a very good restaurant (Red Frog's), a Winn Dixie, the beach, St. Aug. Ampitheatre, Putt Putt Golf, and several other restaurants. It's a short ride from the historic district and St. George Street also. The house itself is set up for privacy with a split bedroom plan. The kitchen is very large; 3 can work without getting in each other's way. There are 5 areas to relax in, so no one has to bunch up together (outside patio table, backyard picnic table, outside Adirondak chairs, inside living room, inside computer area). The TV has very good picture/reception, house wifi never failed, there is excellent water pressure for showers, etc. Everything works and is repaired fast if it fails. Even the grill was brand new. There are 3 exits from the house; another plus. The master bedroom door leading directly to the outside covered patio is an extra plus for letting pets outside. The big sofas are comfortable enough to nap on, and the house itself is decorated in cool ocean pastel colors that give a feeling of peaceful privacy. The outside shower for rinsing beach sand off is another nice feature, along with the washer, dryer & small clothesline. The home is all one level, which our senior pets appreciate very much. The grassy backyard has both sun and shade, and is large enough for dogs to play Frisbee, etc. We have yet to stay at another rental that has every single thing we look for and as many extras as 2nd Haven. Friends who have visited us there always like this house. The owners work hard to keep it in excellent condition and return our damage deposit very quickly.
This house was everything we wanted in our vacation rental! Easy beach access, easy access to downtown. We show two showsp at the Amphitheatre and it was very easy to get to and from. Very cheap uber ride for us. So location was perfect! Comfortable beds! Thank you so much for having cable TV, the guys were happy campers when they were able to chill for a minute and watch football. The back yard was huge and perfect for our dogs! Very private. Kitchen was completely stocked! We are already planning our next vacation at 2nd Haven next year. The owners were great and always easy to reach!
2nd Haven was even better than expected! It it a perfect beach house for a family with small kids. The backyard is amazing and beautifully landscaped. The house is simple, clean, and spacious. It's in a great location with easy walk on or drive on beach access. The owners were also a pleasure to work with. We are already planning next years weekend getaway at 2nd Haven : )
Spacious and welcoming! Our group stayed overnight to attend a concert at the nearby St. Augustine Ampitheater, and we look forward to coming back when we can stay longer and take advantage of all the amenities the house offers. Great location.
2nd Haven was beautiful with enough room for everyone. Walking distance to the beach and convenient to downtown. Would definitely stay here again!
This house was just perfect for our family of 4 plus 2 standard poodles! The fenced backyard was perfect for kids and dogs alike! the house seems much larger in person that the pics. The problems as when renting a condo with loud neighbors. Very easy beach access and only about 15 mins into downtown St. Augustine. The house is very well stocked with linens and all things needed for a kitchen!!! We will be renting again!!
A short walk to the intra-coastal waterway for kyacking, fishing, boating and viewing the beautiful sunsets. Less than one minute drive across to the one of widest and most beautiful drive-on beaches on the east coast.
