About the property

6 bedrooms, 2 and 1/2 baths, sleeps 11 max

The Cobblestone Farm is a restored 1817 Colonial house on twelve acres in the small coastal village of Sedgwick. The house sits on a rise on the Reach Road with views to the Sedgwick town landing and Eggemoggin Reach beyond.

There are six bedrooms (four with fireplaces), 2 and 1/2 baths, a fully equipped kitchen with granite counter, dining room with a fireplace and brick oven, T.V room and parlor both with fireplaces, and a fully equipped laundry. The home has been refurbished and updated but not so much as to lose its sense of history. It is filled with comfortable antiques and rustic elegance.

The landscaping of Cobblestone Farm is extensive. The lawn encompasses perennial flower and herb beds, raised vegetable beds, a small pond, a croquet/volleyball court, woods and a wild blueberry field.

There is a deep water mooring available for use by guests. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are about an hour's drive. The village of Blue Hill is a 15 minute drive away.

Enjoying the coast of Maine: The Blue Hill peninsula on the coast of Maine represents the essence of 'Down East' in all of its beauty and authenticity. Small villages and the stunning coastline complement one another in an area accustomed to seasonal visitors. You will find much to do in the area, from walking, hiking, bike riding, sailing, kayaking to eating out at an abundance of restaurants, visiting craft shops, or simply relaxing in the shade with a good book. The pace is slow and the ambiance is welcoming.

About Trudi Brock

We live and farm in rural Vermont, but have enjoyed coming to this area of Maine for close to 30 years. When the opportunity came up to purchase this property, we jumped on it based on our affinity to the area as well as our love of old houses.

Trudi Brock purchased this house in 2005

Why Trudi Brock chose Sedgwick

The house is incredibly comfortable and the landscape surrounding it is a delight to relax in. The location is in a quiet part of the peninsula, but within easy distance to villages and towns along the coast as well as Acadia National Park.

The house has a fully equipped kitchen and separate laundry. The dining room features the old cook hearth and bake oven and has a charming old world ambiance. There are 8 fireplaces in all as well as oil-fired heat. There is a front parlor and and separate TV room. Outside there's a patio in the back with large dining capacity and gas grill. There is also an enclosed croquet lawn and the house comes equipped with croquet and volleyball equipment. An outside shower is available as well. It is a comfortable space for large family gatherings or groups of friends.

Great spot for a large group to enjoy Maine.

Wonderful 200 year old house that has been completely renovated but still very cozy. The landscaping is incredible, just the place to sit and read a book. The real treat is the croquet court--our group had daily matches. We have been back many times and recommend it without reservation.
