Great location & super cozy
This is our second time staying at Julia's Hideaway and we didn't get to stay for long enough. We brought two young children who slept in a pack and play and a toddler blow up mattress in the living room and my Husband and I got the bedroom. It was the perfect amount of space. The place is very cozy and clean. We cooked a breakfast with the utensils supplied and had tons of towels. We will be back again.
thanks for your kind words, and come back soon!
Welcome to historical Savannah!
A perfect location adjacent to Madison Square; best of all for us, the property is dog friendly as we brought our two canine companions. Historical Savannah is definitely dog friendly and our two “boys” had the time of their lives. We stayed a month so the small kitchen presented a bit of a challenge but it was manageable. Ken was very responsive and made us feel most welcome. His suggestion for securing a monthly on-street parking pass ($40) from the City of Savannah was critical to making this location work for us as we arrived by auto. For a long stay, having a washer/dryer on-site was a real plus. This was our first visit to Savannah and we found the Chatham County Aquatic Center, the Bacon Park Golf Course, the Chatham County Live Oak Public Library and the First Generation Senior Center to be excellent sources of activities to augment our historical excursions. Too, local theater productions and dining options were many and excellent. All in all, we had a most enjoyable visit to historical Savannah.
Thank you for your fine review. I must add that your dogs were perfect guests and I hope that they enjoyed 'checking out' our close by squares and lush tree lawns!
Perfect location; Charming; Super clean
My husband and I recently visited Savannah to celebrate our 25th Anniversary (we were there for five days). We stayed at Julia's Hideaway, in the bottom floor unit. We absolutely loved it! We parked our truck on an adjacent street and never moved it, except to the other side of the street in order to avoid the street sweeper. (TIP: Bring quarters to pay for the meter until you are able to get to the Visitor Center to purchase your parking pass.) Julia's is perfectly located within walking distance of everything in the historical district. With all of the beautiful homes and squares throughout the city, walking was perfect for us so we could leisurely enjoy seeing everything. Ken (the owner), from the very beginning, was very friendly and helpful and provided us with a lot of helpful information and recommendations for our stay. The unit was super clean, charming, and very comfortable. My only complaint (and it's not a deal-breaker) -- Julia's faces Whitaker Street, which is an extremely busy street, so the road noise was a bit of a bother. However, the bedroom is in the back of the unit so we did not hear the road noise at all once we went to bed. Despite the road noise, I would still highly recommend staying at Julia's. The noise was a minor drawback which was greatly outdone by the convenience of Julia's location and her charming and clean atmosphere. The courtyard in the back was adorable and a comfortable place to hang out and chat (especially while waiting for my laundry to finish). The unit is nicely decorated and has a very comfortable, home-like feeling. We hope to get back to Savannah again someday, and Julia's will be our first choice for lodging! 😀
This place is super convenient to shops and restaurants. Easy drive to area attractions. I was a little concerned about the availability of street parking. No worries, it was a breeze. We did purchase a parking pass at the visitor's center to avoid feeding the meter. The parking pass lets you park throughout the city with few restrictions. Clean and free wifi a plus. Traveling with a dog? Convenient areas to walk/exercise your pet.
Note: To enter this property there is a set of stairs to navigate.
We really enjoyed our stay at Julia's. It was clean and very comfortable and easy walking to anywhere in the historic district.
Great location to walk through the historic district
Very comfortable, as we had everything we needed. Thanks Ken!
Thank you very much. We enjoyed having you as well. Please come back to Savannah again.
