Enjoy four-season mountain views from the deck of this spacious, four bedroom chalet high above picturesque Jackson Village! Situated 1000' above the valley, this home offers two-level living with large brick fireplace, queen bedrooms upstairs and two bunk rooms downstairs. Sip wine and view beautiful sunsets from the deck then adjourn to the comfortable living room while the kids play ping pong or pool in the recreation room downstairs. Open floor-plan upstairs is perfect for entertaining after a long day of hiking, mountain biking, or sight-seeing. Ten minutes to Storyland, twenty minutes to Mt. Washington and Attitash and less than thirty minutes to outlet shopping in North Conway. Close to everything but away from the madness when its time to relax.
Scott and Sonia live in Northern MA and have two young boys, Their love of skiing brought them to MWV and they decided to buy a place in Jackson.
Scott purchased this chalet in 2007
One word: the View! We needed a place that could easily accommodate two families, and once arrived here the place sold itself.
"Point of View" presented a beautiful vista from its veranda and front windows. The location is fabulous with its mountain views and seclusion. All of the amenities were present as advertised and the property was very clean. Indoor recreational activities include a separate rec room downstairs with TV, dining and pool tables with table tennis. The house is ideally situated for numerous fresh air activities and excursions (e.g. the walk up to Mt Washington summit). Jackson village is really picturesque and hosts at least two excellent food outlets: a restaurant and and general store. Further, it is convenient for shopping in Intervale and North Conway. Overall this house on Middle Mountain Trail is highly recommended for a relaxing, active holiday.
This place is terrific. We stayed here for a week in August and used it as our "base camp" for exploring a lot of different outdoor activities in the White Mountains. The location is perfect... it's central to so much of the stuff we did. Jackson is a much smaller and quieter town and provides a much more authentic New England experience than some of the other more developed and touristy areas in the White Mountains.
As for the view, there are not many superlatives I can add that other reviewers have not already added which adequately describe how incredible the views are off the deck. For all but 2 of the nights, we cooked dinner in and ate while looking out over the valley. If atmosphere is something you look for in a restaurant, it is very difficult to beat the true atmosphere you get up at 1650 feet on the deck of this mountainside home while looking out over the valley and the White Mountains.
As for the home itself, it was spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable. With the combination of the comfy beds and the cool, nighttime New Hampshire mountain air, we had night after night of truly restful sleep. As other reviewers have noted, the house is stocked with everything you need. Any time we needed something for cooking, it was there. The ping-pong table was awesome! Every morning after breakfast, our boys would play for a while before we headed out for the day. The open layout of the home is terrific with the way the kitchen blends with the dining area and family room / living area... I can see how this home would be perfect for a large family for a ski getaway in the winter.
The owner, Scott, was extremely helpful and very responsive to any questions we had. He gave us a lot of great advice from his own experiences in the White Mountains, which really helped make our vacation that much better.
I highly recommend this home for a vacation in the White Mountains!
We have stayed in this area before and the house we always rented was sold and the owner no longer rents. We were so lucky to find this property. It is a beautiful home with anything you could want for a great stay. The views from the deck were gorgeous. We will certainly be renting this house again. I would highly recommend it. The owners were so responsive to any questions we had before we arrived. Everything was as it had been described and then some. Just a few minutes away from anything you wish to do.
This house is nicer than the photos appear even. The view from the back deck is very nice. Went up for the labor day long weekend. Has a really nice firepit. Tons of space. Jackson is just a short drive down the road for shopping, restaurants, or just walking around. Owners were responsive and got my deposit back no problem. Would recommend this place to my friends. Ping pong and pool table.
A wonderful home to stay for a week in the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire. Yes, a home - not a house - because this property felt so welcoming to our family. You cross a covered bridge to get there - so awesome! We are avid outdoors people and we spent the week hiking in the White Mountains (returning to a hot shower and a comfortable bed at the end of a long day on the trails is pure bliss after years of tent camping!). Our oldest son is a cyclist, and he rode to Jackson to meet us over the famous Kangamagus Highway from Andover, NH where he had been attending a chemistry conference the week before. The cycling in the White Mountains is challenging but he loved every moment of it. We took one day off from hiking in the middle of the week for a trip to Old Orchard Beach, Maine, an easy couple of hours and well worth it. The beach was clean and welcoming with just the right amount of kitch to make it fun and we would highly recommend it. The house was chock-full of amenities - cable TV! - a novelty to this antenna-on-the-roof family. The pool/ping pong table was a huge hit with everyone but mom, who was too busy sipping wine on the beautiful deck enjoying the mountain views to partake in a game. The binder full of local information was extremely helpful. We chose to cook and eat-in most nights and the kitchen is fully equipped and there is a nice grocery store close by.
Scott and Sonia were very helpful and promptly returned our inquiries and questions about the property. We hated to leave and hope to be back in the near future - perhaps a winter trip to take in the cross-country skiing in the area.
One of the best vacations ever. The house is GREAT.
This was a perfect mountain getaway home for our large family. There are 2 levels, and the bottom one is perfect for the kids to play, hang out and have fun! The top level is open and spacious and even though we were a large group we never felt crowded. The views are magnificent. A perfect rental with much to offer in any season! We are going back in the fall for leaf peeking and some more family time.
Beautiful Jackson Village offering year-round activities. Central to skiing, hiking and family activities.
