About the property

Two bedroom, 1.5 bath downtown two-story cottage

Bluebell Cottage, completely remodeled in 2009 and refurnished and decorated in 2015, offers the charms of Crested Butte’s colorful past with all the modern amenities available today. Located on the western-most block of Elk Avenue, the cottage is just steps away from dining, shopping and other entertainment. Dedicated off-street parking is located behind the cottage and the ski mountain shuttle is just one block away.

The lower level open-concept living space is elegant and spacious, with hardwood floors throughout, antique Oriental carpets, beamed ceilings, many large windows with a bright sunny exposure.

The living room is stylishly furnished to comfortably seat 4-6. Entertainment systems include a flat screen television with satellite, DVD, stereo, and wifi.

Adjacent dining area farm table seats 6 and provides a lovely space for family dinners or entertaining friends.

The roomy fully-equipped cook’s kitchen comes with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Ample storage and counter space make this kitchen a delightful place to prepare meals and to enjoy casual dining at the breakfast bar with seating for 4.

The lower level full bath with shower/tub includes washer and dryer facilities.

The second level includes two nice-sized bedrooms, each with a comfortable queen-sized bed, closet and additional storage for clothing. Both bedrooms have recently been upgraded with new furniture and bedding. New high quality mattress and boxsprings have been recently added in the master bedroom. A single futon, located in second bedroom provides for separate sleeping arrangements when desired. The half-bath is located in the hallway between the bedrooms.

Mature trees and beautiful perennial gardens add to the cottage charm. A brick patio at the rear of the cottage is furnished with dining table, market umbrella and gas grill for outdoor cooking, dining, or enjoying a cocktail while watching the Crested Butte world go by. A charming flagstone patio and garden was added to the west side yard in the fall of 2014, doubling the outdoor living space. The newly landscaped area overlooks Elk Avenue, providing endless entertainment right from your own side yard!

About The Owner

Having lived on the Front Range for decades, our family has had the opportunity to travel and to experience many places in Colorado. Our boys grew up skiing and snowboarding in Summit County and Vail, where we formerly owned property. But when we discovered Crested Butte on our first visit in 2001, we knew that we had found our place.

We love the unspoiled beauty of the mountains as well as the unique and historic town, the friendly locals, and quirky customs in Crested Butte. It is a real place and a real community, not just a tourist destination. And though tourism is welcome, it does not define the character of the town.

What makes this house unique

We feel so fortunate to have finally found a place in the mountains where it all comes together: the community, architecture, natural setting, recreation opportunities, and interesting folks. Spending time at our home here is always a joy that we experience as often as possible.

Our home is located on the quiet west side of town on historic Elk Avenue. Close to all shopping, restaurants, hiking & biking trails. Minutes away from Crested Butte Ski Resort and one block from ski shuttle.

The house is decorated really nicely. It is small, but the space is used well so it doesn't feel small. There is an awesome coffee shop across the street and the bus stop is one block away. The owner was really quick to respond to questions. Loved our time!

Very cute old but recently updated house on the end of elk street. Very easy to walk to everywhere in town. Owners quickly responded to any questions and gave great tips on where to eat (sunflower) and where to hike (rustlers gulch). The espresso machine was an added benefit so you could have good coffee 1st thing in the am.

Great Stay!!!

During the past 30 years we've stayed at many CB rentals and Bluebell Cottage is the best yet!!! Beautiful decor, ideal downtown Elk Ave. location, and loved the well equipped gourmet kitchen. We had a couple of questions and the owner responded immediately. Great rentals for two people aren't plentiful in downtown CB. We would definitely rent Bluebell again!!! Perfect Crested Butte Property and Location

Our week in Crested Butte was amazing thanks to this perfect rental property! We have rented homes in other cities but this was our best experience so far. The house was beautiful and well organized with everything we needed. Plus it is the best location in Crested Butte right at the end of Elk Ave. We will certainly be back for another stay next summer! Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.

The Bluebell Cottage is "perfect" and I am not exaggerating. First of all, it's a beautiful home with all the amenities one could want and is decorated to please the eye, at least it was for my wife and I and my wife is has pretty high standards. Then there's location which is on Elk Ave (the Main Street of Crested Butte), however, it's at the end of Elk, so there is NO NOISE of any kind and very little traffic. CB itself is a gorgeous place to spend time but staying in Bluebell made it that much more enjoyable! We'll definitely be back!

Great Stay!

This is a terrific place. It's beautifully furnished, comfortable and very well maintained. Owners are very friendly, responsive and obviously take a lot of pride in providing their guests with a wonderful stay.
