This beautiful A frame home sits on 2 1/2 acres in a private wooded area on Penobscot Bay. Its southern exposure allows maximum hours of sun and warmth as well as lovely sunsets to be enjoyed from the deck. The acrobatic flight of osprey and seagulls provide relaxing bird watching though the occasional appearance of a bald eagle may result in a noisier sight. Binoculars are handy for closer enjoyment and may allow you to see a seal enjoying dinner in the bay in the early evening.
Descending a mere dozen steps brings you to a secluded beach for private sunbathing, swimming or strolling. A quiet peek at the beach in early morning may gift you with the joy of watching deer graze in the tall coastal grasses.
Low tide offers the special treat of exploring Hutchins Island, a 30 acre sanctuary and beach just a 15 minute stroll from the house. Beaver live in the pond and osprey and heron in the wooded area buffeting the soft sand beach. Seals can be seen sunning themselves on the rocks to the north. Sprague Beach is another favorite just a short ride away. Beach picnics are wonderful. Plan to arrive on a Saturday afternoon ferry and depart on the following Saturday midmorning ferry. Please come and experience a quiet Maine Island life.

The ocean air, quiet natural environment, beauty and seclusion of a home with both beach and forest has been a gift enjoyed by our family and many friends over the years. A ferry ride to Camden offers a day for shopping, eating lobster and chowda, browsing in book stores or just watching the boats in the prettiest harbor on the coast!
We have dock access and enjoy sailboat renting ,small watercraft allows many hours of fun exploring other islands as well as seeing the hidden beauty of Islesboro and our children have learned the gift of quiet and family games and adventures. You can get lobsters right off the boats at 5:00 in the evening! So fresh you won't want butter!
Our family of four adults and one child spent two beautiful weeks together on island.lots of hikes and marshmellow melts on the beach.Great quiet walks in the woods and fun playing on the beach just steps from the deck.We will go again and bring more family next time.. It is just a warm and cozey place to hang.We played games and cards..what fun.Movies and popcorn at night. We highly recommend it for time together.Try it!!! 5 stars

I have stayed 2 years in a row and hope for a third. I love this house the area the island the peace and solitude.
Always love the island and the house is perfect everything you would want without stuff you don't need
I have rented this comfortable house a few times now. Plenty of room for my energetic three kids! We loved that they had both the beach and the wooded area to play in and explore.
Bob was very easy to work with and accommodated us with everything we needed. I would recommend this little get away for any family that doesn't need an amusement park and a mall.
