This property is amazing and it feels like a home away from home. Everything was decorated very nicely and upscale beach cottage style. We had everything you could ask for and more at this property. Sharon the property manager was a dream and even arranged a private shelling/boat trip for us with one of the best captains in the area.We were picked up like royalty right at the little dock on the back of the property.
The kitchen has everything you need for cooking everyday with nice appliances. There are flat screen TVs everywhere and the shower is a double shower so tow can go in at one and get clean. There is a washer and dryer in the place as well.
The gem of a cottage is right at blind pass, the best place to shell and it take less than 30 seconds to cross the street and be on the beach.
We had a perfect stay at Lazy hideaway and I cannot say enough nice things about the property and the management. We even saw a rare bobcat there!
Thank you again Sharon for being the perfect hostess.
A comfortable, well-maintained cottage in a great location. We particularly enjoyed watching the wildlife from the lanai. The fiddler crabs on the foreshore attracted several species of birds including night herons, green herons, blue herons, sandpipers and the resident great egret. Kayaks can be rented from nearby and we also rented a couple of bikes for the week from Finnigans. (They deliver and collect.)
Just across the road are magnificent beaches in both directions. Staying here we really had the best of both worlds; the tranquil waters of the bay and the beaches of the Gulf.
The cottage was clean and well-equipped. Communications with the owners were excellent and, although we live in the UK, renting the property was quite easy to do.
We hope to return to Sanibel and the cottage will be our first choice of places to stay.
Santiva is where Sanibel and Captiva Islands meet, and the Lazy Hideaway is the perfect spot to fish, swim, kayak, shell and relax.
The Lazy Flamingo, Sunset Grill and Santiva General Store are just steps away, so you can enjoy the island's finest foods in the local's favorite restaurants, or grill your catch of the day on the backyard charcoal grill.
Walk right across Sanibel Captiva Road and over to the beach, just past our sister cottages (Little Palm and Bamboo Breeze).
The Blind Pass Bridge is a favorite fishing spot. Use your cast net to catch your bait for the day, watch the herons, pelicans and sea otters frolic alongside the manatees and dolphins while you fish for your supper.
Shellers delight in the abundance of beautiful seashells that are on the shores at Blind Pass. The variety and volume all vary with the tides. Mother Nature rarely fails to deliver beautiful souvenir shells.
Other Activities: Shelling! Kayaking, Flats Fishing, Snorkeling, Shore and Dock Fishing, Boating, watching sunsets.
Golf: The Dunes and Beachview Country Clubs are located just 10 miles away on Sanibel, and both are Par 72 courses. Open to the public.
