girls 55 birthday weekend
7 high school girlfriends shared our 55th birthday weekend here. Very comfortable beds and the morning sunrise in the front bedroom was spectacular....I felt like I was on a cruise ship. We had a beautiful fall weekend, with plenty to do in the area , close to town for window shopping and drinks.
Great Family Vacation Spot
We were there for a wedding at a Mandana Barn and this location was perfect. It is not fancy, but very comfortable. The dock area was very nice and the swimming area was fantastic. Great to go out there early in the morning with a cup of coffee and watch the fish jumping.
There were a lot of windows facing the lake and nice views from the living room and one bedroom of the house toward the lake.
Even though the neighboring houses are close the property seemed secluded and private. The grounds are very well maintained.
The pictures of the house were very accurate. It is not a fancy new modern house. It is an older home, the floors creak some and the fixtures are older, but it is a very well maintained and clean property. Very comfortable and a lot of character.
I would definitely recommend this property and we will return here next summer if possible. There is a boat mooring for use by this property so next time I need to rent a boat.
We strive to make Lake Escape a welcoming, homey retreat from the bustling fast-paced world. This guest summarized well the highlights of our property: comfort and quiet beauty in a clean, lake front home, that has character.
Cozy and comfortable
We stayed at the Lake Escape for a week this August with our two teenage children, and we all had a great time. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The house was neat and clean, and had everything we needed, right down to coffee filters and dish soap. The beds were comfy, the sitting area outside was great, and there were plenty of clean sheets and towels. The location of the house is beautiful, and the village of Skaneateles is quaint with lots of charm. Don't miss Doug's Fish Fry. We enjoyed Anyela's winery, and also had a nice experience renting a boat at the Marina right down the road. We also had a sunset dinner at the 1820 House nearby - the food was delicious. We came home relaxed and refreshed.
I recently had the opportunity to stay at this rental with my husband and two young boys, and it was fantastic! The lake front is amazing, private and very relaxing. We will definitely be returning to this house when its warmer so we can take advantage of the pristine swimming area and docks. The house was very comfortable and had more than enough space for us to be comfortable in, also very clean which is always high on my priority list. There is a vineyard and within walking distance and its a very quick drive to the village of Skaneateles with easy access to restaurants, shopping, and grocery stores. The Sherwood Inn and Kabuki were our favorite restaurants, and we because 'regulars' at the coffee and chocolate shop in the village. The owners left a great welcome basket with village and area information as well as some local goodies for us to sample. They were kind and very helpful during our renting experience. We had a fantastic time on Winding Way and can't wait to go back!
