We fell in love with Fairhaven many years ago. The neighborhood has a European atmosphere with outdoor cafes, bookstores, courtyards, art galleries, local artists, quaint specialty shops and restaurants. It is truly one of the hidden gems of the Pacific Northwest!
Park your car and walk everywhere; whether it is coffee shops, antique stores, The Village Green, bookstore, restaurants, or the Bellingham Bay Trail. The best grocery store in Fairhaven is also only a couple of blocks away.
Our family (elderly parents, sister, husband and I) were travelling to visit my mothers cousin in Bellingham.... we choose to stay at Fairhaven Classic, because it was located within walking distance to great shopping, good restaurants, historic buildings....and the house was adorable! It met all our needs, clean, comfortable, well stocked, in a safe neighbourhood, and charming. We were sad to leave after 2 nights, and hope we have the opportunity to return.
Favourite restaurants: Breakfast- Harris St Cafe, Lunch-Keenans, Supper-Skylarks, and Asian Bistro (delivery)
In the evening visit the boardwalk for sunset, moon rise, trains....music.
Favourite shops: A Lot of Flowers, Chuckanut Gallery and Garden.
If traveling from Victoria? Washington State Ferry Sidney to Anacortes!
Thankyou Amy for all your help in making our stay a wonderful memory!
This property is a charming old character home with a lovely sunny garden and deck and a well-equipped kitchen.
It is conveniently located within easy walking distance of the town centre.
We didn't make our reservation until the very last minute but Amy was very accommodating and managed to arrange everything for our stay at very short notice. Thanks Amy!
This was the perfect place! Lots of foot traffic that made the place feel alive, plus the location couldn't have been better. Very pretty yard and inviting decor. I can't wait to come back!
I've stayed in vrbo rentals for the past 7 years in Bellingham and this was our favorite by far. This house has charm and character, space for everyone, a 2 block walk to downtown Fairhaven, a 5 min drive to downtown Bellingham, and most of all great owners to work with. Our group totally took advantage of the short walk and enjoyed happy hours at a few speak-easys, then bbq back at the house on the nice deck, then again back out for a 80's theme party at the local nightclub, The Fairhaven. No other place on the vrbo site has given us the space to be comfortable, and the access to bars, shops, and restaurants. The price and location are definately the best Bellingham has to offer and i would recommend staying here to any and all ages
A group of 6 of stayed at Fairhaven Classic while we were visiting Bellingham for the Chuckanut 50 trail race and we could not have asked for better accommodations.
The house is just 3 blocks from down town Fairhaven, making it walking distance to restaurants and grocery stores. We had two dogs with us and the big back yard gave them ample room to run around. Also, having a washer and dryer made it very convenient to wash are race gear afterwards. Not to mention having two bathrooms very useful.
I would not hesitate to stay here again.
The furnishings in the house were not very comfortable, slipcovered old furniture. I would imagine staying here in the summer when you could take advantage of the lovely yard and deck it would be a different expereince but mid-winter when it is raining, the interior left a lot to be desired esp for the price. And as the listing says, the location is pretty great.
