Buffalo Ridge Condominium... Silverthorne, Colorado! Located among Copper Mountain, Keystone, Breckenridge, and Arapahoe Basin with a view of the mountains to die for!!
This Non-Smoking condo offers easy access to what many think are some of the best ski areas in the world. Shuttle buses from the parking lot will take you to any of the four ski areas in the vicinity -- Arapahoe Basis, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain & Keystone. By car, the times are about 30 minutes to Arapahoe Basin, 20 to Keystone or Copper Mountain, and 25 to Breckenridge. Vail is about 45 minutes A well-kept secret among Coloradans is Loveland Basin. It has no lodging onsite so attracts few visitors (no lift lines!), but is only about 15 minutes away, just on the east side of the Eisenhower Tunnel which goes through the Continental Divide.
In Summer, the trailheads for several great hikes are just 5 minutes' walk from the door. Hikes for all levels are plentiful in the area, from a flat hike with 360 degree views to overnights that challenge the expert. Some of the best fishing in the country begins at the bottom of the hill, along the Blue river and extends to lakes and streams in all directions. Also enjoy horseback riding, canoeing, boating, or tennis on the condo association's own court.
For those less inclined to the outdoor rigors, there are discount malls at the bottom of the hill with about 30 stores.
The condo has two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with two twins. Additionally, there is a pull-out combination living room sofa and queen-size bed. Thus, it will sleep six. The condo is built around the view. The bedroom with the double bed has its own bathroom with a stall shower. A regular bathroom off the central hall area includes a tub.
At the condominium’s clubhouse (about a 250 foot walk) there is jacuzzi, pool, and hot tub. Just five minutes down the hill are Silverthorne and Dillon with a wide range of down home, Yuppie, and less descript restaurants, bars, and the like. City Market sells a range of foods to support most gourmet (or frugal) interests within the condo's kitchen and has a good wine and liquor store next-door.
Sorry but condo association rules prohibit pets.

Great views and convenient to town.
We were in Colorado to ski! The condo was a little dated, but adequate. It is conveniently located amongst many resorts. It hss great views, as the picture indicates, was convenient to restaurants and groceries stores, as well as nearby towns of Dillion and Frisco.
comfortable, great view, good location
we had a great time and felt very comfortable in the home. plenty of dishes and cooking gear. the furniture is new in the living room compared to the pics online so that was a plus.we would stay again at this location. it met our needs perfectly.
Great view but that's about it.
We were excited about this property. The price was right and based on the other reviews, we expected it to be dated but clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, it was not clean or comfortable. When we arrived the refrigerator had clearly not been cleaned between us and the prior guests as there were stray bits of food and piles of odd food remnants in the freezer. In addition, we found things in the bathroom that led us to believe that it had not been thoroughly cleaned. There were also a number of things in disrepair in the condo. Some of them like the burned linoleum and the stove had notes to excuse the fact that they were in disrepair, others like kitchen drawers did not. I'm pretty sure the mattresses have not been replaced in 20 years making it impossible for 2 adults to sleep in the master bed without constantly rolling into the cavity in the middle. Also of concern was our security while we were staying at the condo. Per Colorado law, carbon monoxide detectors are required in all rental units. There were none and the smoke detector looked questionable. Also, the condo used standard keys that someone could easily replicate at a hardware store but did not have any way (other than the keyed locks) to secure the premises while you were in the condo.
GENERAL RESPSONSE: We're deeply sorry that this party found so many faults with condo. We work to keep it neat, clean, with spectacular view in prime location, but also affordable for the many guests who've rented over the years. Our cleaning service is extremely cooperative and has always received very positive reviews. We have responded below to each specific raised in review:
CRITIQUE: ... not clean or comfortable. When we arrived the refrigerator had clearly not been cleaned ... stray bits of food and piles of odd food remnants in the freezer. In addition, we found things in the bathroom that led us to believe that it had not been thoroughly cleaned.
RESPONSE: we are sorry rental party had these reactions. As indicated in other reviews posted here and in guestbook in our condo, many have praised the condo for being clean and comfortable. We also encourage rental parties to leave non-perishable items (e.g., condiments) for future visitors.
CRITIQUE: ...number of things in disrepair ... burned linoleum and the stove had notes to excuse the fact that they were in disrepair:
RESPONSE: The insulation around the hot-water pipe caused discoloration in linoleum when installed to replace original carpeting in kitchen. The discoloration is annoying but has not changed nor entailed any problems for many years since linoleum's installation.
The latch that locks the stove for oven cleaning is quirky, thus the note on the handle.
CRITIQUE: ...kitchen drawers did not
RESPONSE: Several of the tracks for the kitchen drawers are not working so drawers tilt when opened. Will address in annual repairs this Summer
CRITIQUE: ... mattresses have not been replaced in 20 years ...impossible for 2 adults to sleep ... without constantly rolling into the cavity in the middle.
RESPONSE: The mattresses are only about 6 years old, slept on less than 50 nights a year so, in effect, less than one year old. No such complaints in past.
CRITIQUE: ... our security ... carbon monoxide detectors are required in all rental units. There were none and the smoke detector looked questionable.
RESPONSE: We will install CO detector and, as usual, check smoke detector in annual repairs this Summer
CRITIQUE: ... condo used standard keys that someone could easily replicate … not any way (other than keyed locks) to secure premises.
RESPONSE: Standard keys common in HomeAway properties we have rented. Locks are re-keyed yearly. Will explore more formidable locks in annual repair
Great location, clean and comfortable.
Perfectly equipped condo that sleeps 6 comfortably. Location is perfect: 30 minutes to Vail, 20 to Keystone, super easy.
The owners are great to deal with, very responsive and helpful. It was the ideal rental experience for us. Thanks!!
Great view and parking right outside the door!
My husband and I brought the kids to Colorado on a quick ski trip. We enjoyed our stay in this condo! It was clean and the furniture in the living had been updated which was a great surprise! And the parking was super convenient! It was also in close proximity to Keystone resort where we skied! I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family!
Great location, beautiful view, comfortable accommodations.
This condo was great for me and my two friends for a week of snowboarding at Copper Mountain (15 minutes away). It has all the modern comforts you'd want with wifi, flat screen TV (though I'd recommend upgrading to HD on all channels), fireplace, and even a small balcony. The clubhouse right around the corner is great, especially the large hot tub.
The two bedrooms are decent size (one with a queen and the other with two twins) with comfortable beds and the living room is big enough for 3-4 to relax comfortably, everythng was very clean as well. The roads and parking lots are well maintained with frequent snow removal and all the restaurants and shopping in Dillon/Silverthorne are within a 10 minute drive.
When we arrived we could not find the humidifier (an absolute must in this climate at that altitude). Ed told me to go to Lowe's and get one and he promptly reimbursed me and even threw in a little extra for my time to get it. All in all just a great place to stay at a reasonable price and would definitely stay there again.
