Located on the 'quiet side' of the island, you are a few minutes from hiking Acadia's many trails, swimming in the gorgeous lakes, standing above the majestic fjord (Somes Sound), or walking along the harbor or sea shore. Many of the island's most scenic areas are less than 5 minutes away.
One can walk to the local restaurants(fine dining or casual), coffee house, an excellent local market with wonderful produce and quality meats, fine wine and cheese shop, pharmacy, post office, excellent library and quality gift shopping. One can also walk to the head of the harbor and take the ferry for lunch or a great brunch on cranberry island. Everything is so convenient and scenic here.
This house is a wonderful family home. Both children and adults appreciate the feeling and location of the house.
The linens are high quality throughout the house. The kitchen is well-outfitted with high-quality cookware, and implements. Having been in the luxury yachting business for years, we have tried to anticipate our guests every need.
We have rented our home for many years through local agencies and have many repeat guests.

About the owner: We have spent many years in the luxury yachting business as a chef and captain. We get a lot of enjoyment preparing the accommodations for our guests.
Why the Owner Chose Southwest Harbor, ME, USA:
We wanted to live in Southwest Harbor because it is a charming village, with a true working waterfront, and authentic feel. The town has everything, without the t-shirt shops and other tourist traps. Being close to the Harbor was important to us, as well as, being able to walk to the village instead of getting in the car. We wanted to live on a quiet street.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Sitting in the window seat at the table for breakfast is truly a treat. Walking to the Causeway, and the Clairemont Hotel for gorgeous views of the Sound. Taking a drive to the Seawall, going to the tide pools, hiking and swimming - then rewarding yourselves with a nice dinner out just a short walk away. It is convenient to everything in town, so you don't need to get in the car to post a letter, buy dinner, go out for lunch or coffee, shop for gifts, buy nice wine or cheese, or go to the pharmacy. The proximity to the ice cream shop and school playground make it fun for families. You can walk to the town dock and take a ferry to Isleford for a nice meal, or take your bikes along, and bike the island. Although it is very close to the village, the house is located on a quiet side street.
